For me, it's the sound of Copper age vessels sailing uneasy across unknown waters. What if the expedition of 4 meets an entire enemy fleet? Should they run home and possibly bring the enemy on their tails, or should they perish and leave me to know so little beside the threat that just took its swing at us?
I also hear this sometimes in TV shows... kickes me back to the old times :D Always makes me want to play that awesome game again. Buidling my empire and then get knocked out from the enemy. :D QQ
@@lenni29111 has the same start, but looks like it came out way later. thinking that beginning must originally be stock music before? Swear it was in one of the Heroes of Might and Magic games
@@lenni29111 looking up hexengenesis, no, the track used by shows like Ancient Aliens and Monster Quest was definitely Enmity, or at least something far closer to it.
Jesus... This song brings back so many EPIC memories.. Discovering the map with a Prophet in stone age, watching the decadence of humanity with robot wars, marching to an impossible battle against cannons with only a few horses.. Damn.. This game was so well made. Taught me history much better than school!
I have been looking everywhere for this song! I’d heard it in everything from Arthur to Ancient Aliens, I figured it was just part of some generic music library I didn’t have access to, but it’s from a game of all things!
"So (dull) and so inoffensive it essentially became stock music." - MandaloreGaming. He's right, no wonder it sounded familiar in documentaries like, say, Ancient Aliens. Edit: And then he and maybe even other RTS players actually hear it again on Homeworld: Cataclysm/Emergence, of all places. 2nd edit: Also, the second level introductory cutscene for Splinter Cell 1. Also as _funi says in this comment's reply, it's also somewhere in Heroes of Might and Magic III.
this is hilarious. I love this game and song and i just recognized it on a history channel documentary at 36 min and 19ish seconds. its about Emperor Aurelian! Rome: Rise and Fall of an Empire. S1 E9. XD
Yep, haha, I'm here now because I was watching Ancient Aliens this afternoon and this played in the background and made me all nostalgic. Need to play it now! Think I still have the ISO file somewhere on one of my old HDD's
Was rewatching Farscape, and there's a track that sounds like Emnity. But could be coincidence, as Emnity does remind me of the scores of the late James Horner, and I know he inspired a lot of people.
exactly my thought. just came here because i heard it again in a documentary and had to finally rehear it again. old stuff. i wonder if its really the same track.
When I played this game first I immediately recognized this soundtrack because it's very similar to the background music of another game I already owned (I'll put the title of that down below). Is this based on another song? Musiques de l'Oncle Ernest - 06 - Toile d'araignée
Hey there, funny that you say that, I played these 2 games a lot and I never thought about this similarity. From a harmonical point of view, these 2 musics are doing a very common trick used by lots of hollywood movies and certainly more video games. They take a theme in a certain chord, and then replay it a minor 3rd lower or higher. If you have a piano somewhere, try playing several C minor chords (notes : C - Eb - G) and then play some A minor chords (notes : A - C - E), and then go back to C. You'll hear the effect it does.
That's the original track! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XFH2llKgFog.html By the way, the first time I heard this track was in an Atlantis DVD game. It's not that they copy each other, but it has a loop that is free to use, I think.
I strongly associate this with the dirty political games in the Middle Ages, played by for example Venice, and ottomans. Or, alternatively, you could hear a German general advising his kaiser that Russia will not play along with it.
this one i like the most for this part 2:57 me and the red computer team to the victory and the glory in the bronze age until the nano age war that will last hours and hours just playing with this part of the song and with part 5:04 when that part starts am already in the nano age with the missile base in the EE AOC art of conquest expansion so at this point i like so much EE
We are now in the Digital Age. But still slow in progress. The reason is there are technologies deemed classified by the government because they are too afraid to share the technology they had created. Reasons - robbed, betrayed, war, chaos, misused. The world is still unprepared for the fast advancement of humanity. 50 Years from now we had entered the Digital Age. 100-200 Years prior of end of the digital age came the Nano Age. War is still present. More bloodshed is spilled more deaths is in the battlefield.
Lol still no nuclear war. But hey we have stagflation, high gas and food prices, am Afghanistan debacle, and all sorts of stuff under Biden so you were half right. Just got the president wrong.
