Respect to Tom and Tina for holding it down so long and all they've done for the BMX community. They are unsung heroes of BMX and were the backbone of the Austin scene. I used to buy bike parts from them when they still worked at Trend. Tina took so many of my orders on the phone, when I finally moved to Austin years after they'd established Empire she recognized me by my voice. Glad to see yall are still in the game and bringing joy to new generations of riders. BMX isn't an easy industry to last this long in, they have true dedication to the sport and invested their lives into it.

I left Austin last march after 24 years of being born and raised. One of the very few things I miss about Austin/Texas is Empire BMX and the BMX scene. Very few other cities have multiple pro riders living there, a world renowned rider with his own holiday (we all know who), world famous dirt jumps, T1 before they destroyed the ramps and a BMX shop thats been a backbone for countless contests, jams, etc. and not just in Texas but the whole country. Austin was a great place to grow up, this shop, scene and city will always hold a special place in my heart. Plus it was almost more fun to ride ditches/spots around the city instead of House park or Mabel Davis (5 hip ditch, sex ditch, veloway ditches) etc etc good times not a lot of the country gets good ditches for riding.
