Since I read Bernard Werber's book The Ants when I was 9 in 1991, I've been dreaming of a movie then a video game based on this fascinating book telling the adventures of a group of ants (I became an insect lover because of this)... When I read at the end of the trailer "based on Werber's saga", my heart stopped. My 32 year-old dream is gonna be true and now I wanna cry! 😂❤❤❤

We r exactly the same age and I share ur big interest for this great book trilogy (please tell me that u know it's not just a single book!?) of Bernard Werber. However, I never dreamt of an adaptation of it and am afraid of the interest of such a game, but why not. At least it's original and I'm curious to discover more of it. But for sure I really wanna read the books again. About movies about a group of ants, there have been 2 of them, released in the same time, 25 years ago. A Bug's Life by Pixar, and Antz. Dunno who copied the other.

Love this! Reminds me a lot of the slightly bizarre games we got in the early 2000's on the PS1 and PS2. Really hope they carry on championing this kind of creativity and experimentation! So much potential with gaming, it doesn't have to be the same old same old every year.

Very creative concept. I once played a game long ago that always stood out for being different. It gave me a different outlook and it was beautiful. It was called "A Bugs Life" either on PS1 or PS2. Classic. Never played a game like it and will always remember it

As a kid this is literally always been my dream to have a genuinely great game version of ant-colonies becuz the concept itself is so fantastic. The original game is fine for like a flash-game sort of, and idk about this one, its just such an inherently awesome idea to be able to play a huge ant colony, or even termite colony, and like some Starcraft/Factorio mix to expand into other nests and stretch across a huge vast environment.

Back when I was an undergrad I spent some time volunteering in a biology lab that researched ants. I worked closely with a PhD student who used to say that he'd love to see an ant video game. He's a professor now but I hope he gets the chance to play this!

I remember raising ants in an Uncle Milton's Ant Farm. If you can freely roam the maps as a single ant, that would be really cool in 3rd person view. 2024 for Empire of the Ants. The Praying Mantis is a merciless hunter, but the ants are working as a team.

When I read those books from Bernard Werber I fell in love with his writing so much that from when I was 12 to when I was 19 I read all the books he had wrote and, the ant series is so unique and beautiful I will need to read it again this year before I can try that game

I've had an idea for an ant game for a long time now. You play as an ant and you work together to build a colony with other players. There's different roles and classes that perform different tasks for the colony, and you battle other colonies for territory. I think this game might be doing something a bit different from that, but I think this will be the closest I'll get to seeing it happen.

It reminds me how CG movies started much time ago: With "Antz" and "A Bug's Life", because, after toys, insects were the most fitting subjects for the technology back then.

@@TSE_WOODY yup! The original was released in 2000 I think. Played a whole lot of if, but I didn't understand what I was doing at the time. 🤣 I was just a kid that wanted to play with ants.

I always pondered the idea of a battlefield game in the form of ants. It’s cool to see a game take the ant concept for there own.

Empires of the Undergrowth is an ant RTS on Steam, and I think that it may be an excellent game to try before this comes out!

There used to be a game on Sega Saturn that was similiar but it was just red ants vs black ants. Cool to see it mature into something more, definite buy. Can’t remember the name of the game but this looks like a lot of fun. 🎉
