Bc they do dumb shit like that all the time. To be a paintball store and all, several of the videos they've made are questionable at best and sometimes it appears they have no clue what they are talking about.
The Autococker started life as a semi auto conversion concept in 1988 to convert Nelson valved closed bolt pump markers hence the name "Autococker". ( It pumps for you automatically once you release the trigger) The jury is still out who is really responsible between Bud Orr or Glenn Palmer on who came up with the concept first, but the first *commercial* WGP Factory Autocockers came out in 1991. The first team to shoot Autocockers in professional tournaments Was The Ironmen captained by Bob Long in late 1990. Kee /Empire ( Now G.I. Sportz) purchased the remains of WGP in 2010 from K2 holdings who also bought JT and Brass Eagle in 2004. As for the larger barrel back sizes while they are seemingly useless here in the US and Canada and to a lesser degree in Europe / the UK they are VERY useful in China, Taiwan , Australia and Japan where paint is nowhere near quite as shrunken as it is here on this continent. Their paint is still sort of on the large size. The Empire Resurrection does have smaller front end components than most stock *entry level* Autococker parts, but the parts on it are larger than some of the later high end WGP and Hybrid parts. Though all of the pneumatics on the Resurrection are very high quality "clone" parts. The ram is an internal clone of the Belsales Evolution ram and is of the same diameter. The Hybrid mini ram is the smallest ram ever made for the Autococker. The 3 way is a clone of the Shocktech "bomb" 3-way / Dye "rocket" 3-way in that it is a 3 o-ring spool requiring the tubes to be reversed as opposed to a more traditional 2 o-ring 3-way it is actually one of the fastest/ shortest throw 3-ways available. It is by nature one of the smallest 3-ways available for any Autococker only the ANS gear gen 3 is smaller. The LPR is a part for part copy of the AKALMP "soda can" mod, VERY consistent and easily Adjustable. but it's hardly the smallest LPR available for Autocockers. That title goes to the WGP "Tickler" LPR ( user adjustable jackhammer version 2 based upon the "can"/"bullet" LPR used first on the STO Autococker line then on the 2004 pro stock onward.) used on the Orracle and Karnivor Autococker. The HPR is an improved WGP Ergo / Black Magic design with a rotating collar for the input and is fully tools free user serviceable. The big Draws of the Resurrection is that the front block contains the ASA for the HPR like a mini, but it is stretched forward for better ergonomic comfort for modern players this also allows for easy access for 3-way adjustments. The midblock design lacking a back block but instead using a delrin bolt and sled make for a much lighter Autococker in general, allow for a lower operating pressure from the LPR to actuate the ram and the sled contains a blocker to keep debris / dirt out of the lower tube. if it were equipped with a lightly sprung hinge trigger and/or electronic frame and equipped with quick exhaust valves (QEV's) on the ram this would also facilitate higher rates of fire well beyond 15-17 BPS ( the higher in the case of an electronic frame.) The Lowered Empire boss ring spec clamping feedneck and on/off ASA from the factory are MUCH needed upgrades and are generally appreciated by all. The trigger design is one of Simon Stephens' own designs which negates any real need for trigger work past hammer lug adjustment, though it is not one of the fastest single finger slide frame triggers it is very easy for almost anyone to shoot and shoot well with few fears of short stroking. Best reasonable R.O.F. out of it is just over 8 BPS due to it's draw weight if it were sprung lighter you could probably get 10 BPS out of it but then comes the worry of potential short stroking. The body now using 11/16th's valves no longer has a need for a jam nut, nor the use of a jam nut removal tool to keep it in place, the detents are now the much cheaper /easier to replace rubber "nubs" as opposed to the single Cooper T ball detent variety.
@@valentinpineda247 That's where things get *weird* , and more into the field of Legal dispute, Bud Orr, was in talks with Glenn Palmer about converting the WGP Sniper to be "semi-auto". ( The result is not true semi-auto, but rather automatic pump hence the naming convention of "Autococker".) This is somewhat speculative as no one has the legal documents freely as both parties settled out of court: Bud was the first to market with the WGP Autococker in 1990 in tournament use by Bob Long and the Ironmen with a *Commercial* release of the Autococker in 1991, Bud Consulted Glenn Palmer on how would he accomplish making an "Auto-Pump" in *1988.* This may mean as there is a valid legal dispute, that Glen Palmer has the pre-existing documentation, schematics, and art of the design dated earlier in *1988.* Glenn Palmer Never laid legal claim to the design of the *Autococker* , but he has claimed the design of an Automatic pump action marker. Meaning if Glenn has the Documentation, the ONLY reason he did not legally ( and technically rightfully) claim the Autococker from Bud Orr is out of a gesture of friendly goodwill. We know that no automatic pumps were made available to the commercial market before *1991* and none were made period before *1988* but Glenn most likely has the proof that he at least blueprinted the design of the Automatic Pump-action marker from before Bud Orr's construction of the Autococker in mid *1988* and test period of *1990* This gains relevance with further lawsuits in the *mid-2000s* as WGP attempted to sue companies such as AKALMP Paintball, Odessey Paintball, and National Paintball supply for releasing Autococker "Clones" and "Parts Compatible markers". WGP looked like they had an "open & shut" case, but were forced to cease due to Glenn Palmer bringing up Documentation which may have proven that WGP's case was not as "airtight" as previously thought. the two parties settled out of court. this comes up again when Simon Stephens designs the Empire Sniper ( really a "Sniper 3") and Ressurection. G.I. Sports attempted to claim ownership of the Automatic Pump-Action marker as theirs entirely.. but Glenn Palmer yet again presented documents to show that *G.I. Sports only owns WGP and the Autococker I.P. and brand names NOT the sole ownership/ distribution rights to the Automatic Pump-Action marker design and concept.* It's a really rather messy, yet interesting piece of paintball history and due to Glenn Palmer's work the "Autococker" at least conceptually is almost akin to being as "Open Source" as any paintball marker has ever been.
Around the 1:30 mark when you describe how the marker fires, is incorrect. If you air the gun up, have the hopper on and are ready to go this is what happens. The bolt is forward, pull the trigger, 3way activates the ram pulling the bolt back. This also pulls the hammer back which then catches on the sear. Ball drops from the feed-neck. Notice if you hold the trigger the bolt stays back. When the trigger is released the 3way returns to its original position, switching the airflow back, and pushing the bolt forward. No shot is fired. On all the pulls after this first one., you start to pull the trigger, sear drops, the hammer is pushed forward by the spring, hits the valve. This fires the marker. The bolt hasn't moved yet, then toward the back of the pull 3way is activated like before and loads the next shot.
I had an eclipse blade autococker when I was a kid. I spent many hours working minumum wage to afford it. It was hot shit. If I remember right it was a wgp.
Do you still gotta worry about timing. I know older autocockers if you didn't pull the trigger a certain way it would mess the timing up? Also would be sweet to see a pump version
I hope this was supposed to be a satire. Good lord this was hard to watch, I don’t even know where to start. Maybe pull out a slide framed cocker instead of an E Blade. Maybe know basic parts like the LPR, not a “rock reg”. You also missed most of the best features with the Empire, like the access in the front of the 3 way for timing, and the slotted access to adjust your lug for timing.
Rock regs were one of the best LPR's for autocockers back in the day. Seems like an innocent mistake to me as for awhile the rock reg was the defacto aftermarket upgrade.
Just a piece of advice for someone that gets a resurrection, after market purchase you might want Is a three way cover. Had to have mine replaced twice cause the tubes would get shot and rip/break.
Are the new hoses more fragile or something? I used a cocker for years in the early 2000s and took plenty of hits in the pneumatics but never had to replace a hose, much less a whole 3 way because of it.
Should do a side by side shooting with an old school mech-cocker... You'd probably sell more since I've have not seen a side by side with this marker, it should be appreciated by many😀
great video. i have been wanting either a pump or auto coker. would you recommend trying to find an old school one online or just buy knew wither it is the resurrection or ( I know your gonna hate this) the azodin pump
So much wrong here lol... However I won't fault ya too hard for it since you could have just as easily misspoke a few times. I'm not one to rag on someone for that... Plus in all fairness the autococker is a rather daunting platform with a bunch of crap that's pretty exclusive to the design, and I couldn't expect most people to have all that nonsense memorized unless they're especially passionate about building/teching them. To most modern players the 'cocker is an utterly foreign and seemingly impossibly complex design, and to some extent that can be somewhat understandable. In any case, I certainly won't hold anything against ya here haha.
Idk if you know where it is but I play at fort Knox paintball In indiana and i wanna get into speed ball but I'm confused on the tournament vs normal play and how to get into it
If you want to get into tournament play, I recommend going to a field that has walk on speedball fields, and make sure you go on the day/days they have it available, not all fields keep them up all throughout the weekend. From there, after learning the format of speedball and getting some proper gear, I would just ask around about teams in the area. They will probably expect you to try out, and if you make it, you'll probably be expected to attend regular practices which will probably be a mix of points and drills. Expect to have to have reliable transportation, your own equipment and be buying your own paint, although some teams have discounted paint or entry. Attend the practices and make sure you are free on the days they plan to have tournaments, and don't be late. Congrats you are now a tournament speedballer. Anything else you need to know, they will either tell you as you need to know it, or they will tell you to find it out yourself, in which case you can ask around, or check out sites like pbnation.com
Do a little more research before you put out a video like this. Seriously. You brought a full body E-Bladed frankenstein to bear against a mid block slide framed mechanical. If you wanted to actually do the comparison properly, you would have AT LEAST chosen a slide frame cocker that was STOCK. And its not a Rock reg, thats a Palmers trademark, you mean a Low Pressure Regulator. Also, todays pneumatics are no bigger than pneumatics you wouldve found in the mid-2000s. In fact, Hybrid made a ram that was smaller than that Empire ram, and a WGP Tickler or Bullet LPR is smaller than that Empire LPR. 3-way is similar in size to others, like the Belsales or Shocktech for example.
Apples and oranges man. The rear of the new gun is smaller, and no beaver tail, but the old three ways were the same size as the new. You're just comparing one with an EBlade...yes made by Eclipse but they're not called an "Eclipse trigger system".
Spyder's aren't really tournament guns, look for something that has modes like NXL or PSP, nothing full auto like the spyders of my day were, those are not tournament legal. If you're looking for something cheap and good and that just works regularly with relatively simple maintenance, look into a used Axe or an Etha 2. Those things are tanks and they are everything you need. If you get the original Axe, I would recommend upgrading the barrel at your first opportunity to a decent 2 or 3 piece, I don't remember what the threads on an Axe are, I know the Etha is autococker threaded and the axe probably is as well, in which case I recommend the Freak or Freak XL barrel kit. Really nice, and it has inserts for every paintball size except .50 cal which isn't used in tournaments. That will probably be the only barrel you ever need. Also make sure you are running HPA, NOT CO2 through a tournament gun, you will fry it if you don't run HPA. Look around on facebook paintball groups, ask around at fields, or check out the trading section of pbnation.com to get yourself a good used tank. I recommend Ninja but the general rule is you get what you pay for. Also make sure you check the date the tank was last tested for safety. If you want to know more about this, ask around at your local field. Also make sure you have a decent mask. A used JT Proflex will do well, I've also used an Empire E Flex and if you want to spend some cash, a Virtue mask. All around I think the E Flex is one of the best masks for the money. Don't skimp on a mask because it's your face after all.
@@CHURCHISAWESUM i think he was making fun of the fact this video sounds like someone who never played paintball talk about paintball. because this video could not be more wrong
*compares solenoid to mech 3-way* “the 3-way on this thing is...pretty large” 🤦🏼♂️. There is no difference from 2005 era midblock cockers from this one in terms of size etc
god you say so many wrong things in this video like"the 3 way is much smaller then it used to be" ahhhhh NO lol the old one is an electronic cocker and the Resurrection is mech,
this is brutal, get someone in there that has at least a working knowledge of cockers. two minutes in and he already described incorrectly how the firing sequence goes on a cocker, and that matters a lot. Players that dont know better may try to time a cocker based on hearing you say that and set up a terrible gun because of it. shame dude, shame.
I swear, Tony and Joe (to a lesser extent) almost have no idea what they're talking about. Tony just kind of talks and lets words that sound good come out.
