Just reviewing Empire Total War to follow up on Medieval II's review. To me this game is fun, but it feels a bit awkward at times, kind of like those teenage years. This is Total War's teen years.
Good review, I’m in agreeance with everything you’ve said. I’m going to try the darthmod and see how that changes the gameplay, it’s supposed to be “The empire total war mod” to get
I love this game. I've got 2000+ hours in it, and I haven't touched mods yet. When I wear out Bannerlord, I'll probably be back. Maybe il try mods this time.
I've played this game before and despite all the bugs, glitches and the occasional crash, this game is still an underrated masterpiece. People wouldn't complain about it so much if they downloaded the DarthMod, which I highly suggest since it improves the quality of your unit's animations and makes them run slightly faster.
@@corterri I still have a ton of gripes about this game even though it's fun to play. For example I was playing the "Road To Independence" campaign and was literally one turn away from victory and thus unlocking the United States as a playable nation for the Grand Campaign before the game crashed. It did this every time I launched the game. That's my biggest one by far, the other ones having been previously mentioned
Empire seems to be overly dunked on due to exagerrated problems with AI on diffrent CPU's. Back in the day some CPU's would straight up make AI unresposive. It was so bad on some architectures that It was hard to even get any enjoyhment of from the game- and what's wierd that it wasn't exactly linear- as last series of Phenom II processors being absolute joy to play against while FX (generation phenom II's succesor being straight up braindead). Intel's cooperation only guaranteed higher consitency unlike, AMD's wild ride. If not for JANKY implementation of strike cavalery (lances) which made whole thing unviable despite being a mainstay of the period it would be my favorite TW, so it has to share second place in my heart with Rome I. I understand that they wanted to diffienciate it from Medival II but really dumming down of lance cav was last thing they needed to do- and way they implemented winged hussars is straight up atrcious. It would be understadable if they worked rougly how knights worked in Medival II, without implementing all complications of swiss-army knife nature of their tactics but reducing them to being napoleonic style lancers is a thing they did not deserve. I hope it get's a remaster after Medival 2 is finished as it is getting older and less stable with each passing year.
