@@xxmoonlightxx5742 I saw the notification and it took me a second to realize it was Empires, which I knew meant that there's now a crossover between Empires and Hermitcraft, which I'm excited for and also know it's going to be chaotic

I'd been hoping for somethng like this, ever since Hermit Gem heard Empire Gem through the portal. This is going to be both the best and worst thing to happen to this server. :3

i mean, he used to be a watcher, which was basically a god on EVO, and is still in the 3rd/last/double life series so if we want to make it complicated he remembers every series hes been on but prefers to keep it hidden. or its just he doesnt really care about roleplaying and just happy to meet his friends.

grian is a classic but zedaph is doing some really cool things this season!

@@crystalliced I love Zedaph. He's a bit hard to discover, since he doesn't do the collab stuff much (like how he's not one of those who portaled into Empires, nor was he at all involved in the last big Hermit storyline), but he's so cool to watch just for his own stuff. Every season, he decides a theme to base this season around and then he just powers forward in the most entertainingly sideways way possible, often pulling other Hermits into his own shenanigans. I really discovered him when he and Grian base swapped in Season 7, and I haven't turned back since. :) But yeah, BdoubleO, Grian, and GoodTimeswithScar are always great watches (I admittedly favor builders over technical Minecrafters, but I suspect an Empires fan would enjoy those creators as well). DocM77 has also been doing some really awe-inspiring stuff this season, ZombieCleo was an absolutely hysterical perspective during this most recent storyline, and us longer-term Hermit fans are at the edge of our seats watching TangoTek build Decked Out 2, a new version of this INSANE deck-building dungeon crawl game he built a few seasons back.

I am the opposite. Once the hermits crossed over I have binge watched every single episode of empires to make sure I understand everything that's going on. I also watch all the hermits

The way I've seen it treated by both SMPs at this point: each SMP character is a different version of themselves from an alternate timeline, with the meta of their real world minecrafter connecting them. Some characters (e.g., Jimmy and pretty much all the Hermits) are tuned into the meta and so remember their various versions across their minecrafting experience---thus why Tango and Jimmy got excited when they reunited. Impulse starts getting meta with his, poking at Sausage about whether he knows what a "RU-vid" is (XD), but still tells fWhip that he is a dwarf in his own timeline, despite that being specific to just the HC Season 9 canon--this Impulse is a version specific to HC S9, but he's aware that he's a RU-vidr too. But Empires folk are a particular stock who are more tied into the overall lore of the series, so their Empires versions don't seem to have the same memories as their meta selves, thus cannot remember that they're RU-vid minecrafters, much less who they've met in other SMPs, MCC, or GASP in other games entirely! You see this a bit in a few of the Hermits from time to time--Rendog, as we've seen from recent events, occasionally has the same SMP-only blindness when he gets invested in a storyline. And some versions can be aware but not others... Scott in the Third/Last/Double Life series definitely recognized the overarching series timeline, with how Team Widow has been a consistent part of how he's played that entire series. But the Life series wasn't lore-based like Empires it, so the roleplaying aspect wasn't as important. (And yeah, this is all just my way of exploring how each RU-vidr approaches this sort of thing, with the caveat that obviously they're all RU-vidrs who are playing a part, and there's more coordination going on behind the scenes of a crossover event like this than we could ever guess. But it's still fun to speculate on whether and how the Empires folk will weave this into their ongoing stories and lore. XD)
