Thank you! This was surprising data for me and will help my Alliance keep improving our War performance. You have already helped us improve already. Also the graphics were great! Loved the dark background and color choices. Really easy to read on my small tablet. I appreciate and understand the amount of work and time that goes into these Ssnake and admire you for doing this and sharing it with our community. Calico Penny

Ah Penny, your words are too kind! Thanks for the good feedback regarding the colour template and thanks for taking a moment to write. I wish you and your alliance success as we navigate this crazy game together. Until next time, Ssnake.

Sound logic… gave me confirmation of Khufu / Penolite on my defence create more problems than the faster heroes 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣 & made me re-think my defence approach ! Good one👍

The numbers don't lie, although sometimes they can be difficult to interpret or explain. I'll continue to do my best at that, but of course I always love to hear what kind of sense other people can make of them and also to share instances where similiar results (like your success with Khufu / Penolite) or opposing results occur. Cheers Dansing, and keep going with your own great content!

Such a great video! Love these so much. Thank you for this Snake. My apologies if you addressed in the video, I was listening on low volume in the vehicle I was in and may have missed a couple things, but do your mana scores account for the impact of mana boosting troops?

Your quite welcome Nick, and thanks for saying so. Due to popular demand, I'll be releasing additional stats to make sense of the spike we saw for regular speed wars. Coming soon! And no, this does not include mana troops, just base mana speed of the hero.

Don't be discouraged. Play smart and you don't necessarily need every new hero that comes out to keep up. Who can afford them at the rate they come off the assembly line? Thanks for watching and writing, it is much appreciated.

@@ssnakepitgaming I have punched above my weight a few times, but when the tiles don't appear no team can survive. As for defense oriented teams like those you just shared, I'd love to see what my defense team actually does. I can gather data on my performance in the various war types but this will not really tell me how my heroes are performing. A measure of luck, deep pockets, and RNG...

Excellent information. But I do agree it is the certain heroes that are on the slower end and that are making those numbers. For myself I have noticed going with 4 slow and one average that has a mana boost somewhere in there special is the most effective. Seeing fast heros and Snipers on our defense war end makes me cringe. That's a perfect way to Lose everytime. Looking forward to seeing the breakdown of certain heroes.
@ssnakepitgaming
@ssnakepitgaming Год назад
Thanks Peter for your comment. So you are the one fielding 4 slow + 1 average and messing up my smooth lines! Snipers on defense have always made me cringe but I find the new breed of snipers like Khonshu and Hohenwerf have more to offer than older models. I wonder if SG is finally doing something about their years of neglect to this type of hero. Stand by, position breakdown coming soon. Cheers Peter!

Informative and thought-provoking as always. I wonder if that bulge in the normal mana wars may be related to opponents underestimating a slow mana team. They use their best heroes on the fast mana teams and the second-tier heroes on the slow mana teams. There are also some incredibly strong slow mana heroes like Xnolphod. Looking forward to the positional analysis.

Good to hear from you again nevarmaor. The positional ones are coming soon, but first I had to investigate the spike as many people seem to be curious about it. I've completed my analysis of it, and will get that out shortly. Cheers, and thanks again for dropping in!

Have you done this recently with the massive increase in hero power on the new meta? Feels like you could get away with more slow heroes previously but now with these Uber powerful fast heroes the dynamic has shifted.
@ssnakepitgaming
@ssnakepitgaming 5 месяцев назад
I suspect you are correct with your assumption. The power creep is constant and steep, and with the introduction of the legendary troops, slow heroes can survive long enough to one-shot the opposition. I have not collected data in a long time now. With new heroes arriving all the time, I just can't keep up unfortunately. Sadly, the huge spike in the number of heroes, LB and 2LB, and those legendary troops have added too many variables to continue doing what I was before.

Thanks! Watched all your others, often multiple times. Does the source data record the identity of the defender? If so, you could break down the analysis of distribution in terms of unique players. This could help identify whether you have a player on your team who puts out an 11 speed team and their particular setup works (ie the spike is one player). Perhaps you could just eliminate your team's defenders and see if the spike is still there? Or if you dont record player identities and cant exclude your team's data, how about just looking at the 25 instances of teams at mana speed 11 - is it 25 unique layouts? Is it overwhelmingly an Alfrike tank? Interesting stuff!
@ssnakepitgaming
@ssnakepitgaming Год назад
Thanks for the question OLO. Yes, the data contains who the defending player is. Great idea to see if it the same person and the makeup of the spike teams does warrant further investigation. I'll be honest, the answer won't come quick as I'll have to manually go through all 6000 teams to find these teams but I'll do it eventually and let you know what I find out. Cheers!

@Gargon667 Год назад
Certainly interesting to think about. Obviously that spike makes no sense at all and should be investigated. I do not believe any random team of mana speed 11 will do significantly better than everything else. A few things that I could think of that might be worth looking into: 1. as @OLO says: it might be a particular player who uses the same team all the time, because it is obviously very good. I don´t know where your alliance is in terms of rankings, but outside the top a lot of people may lack the killing power to kill slow heroes before they fire. so a team of Khufu/Goseck etc would cause serious trouble. I know I would have trouble fighting that. I might manage to kill one of them, but 2 or 3 spread around? highly unlikely. 2. Mana speed 11 sounds like 1 avg+4slow? Is that pre nerf Xnolhod with Khufu etc an option for the culprit? Or same idea with other mana speed boosters, in which case slow heroes aren´t really slow anymore. And since slower heroes tend to benefit more from mana boosting than faster heroes, it would make sense in a way. But the important point would be mana boosting. 3. I assume there is not a ton of data for mana speed 11. How many occurences are we talking about and if you look into it, how many different teams is that (coming back to point 1)? The same I would do for the very fast speed. 4. The dip at the very fast end is not very surprising, there simply are very few strong heroes in very fast speed. I can´t see many people even bothering to try to put up a very fast def and you can see not a single VF hero in the current meta defs for a reason. So I would expect the max performance somewhere around a team consisting of all fast heroes or less, certainly not higher. At top level w3k defense would most likely pull that speed optimum lower than that, again due to the giant mana boosting of w3k, not the slower speed in itself. This might change if we keep getting more strong VF heroes, like Horus and Alucard. Right now you are looking at a set of heroes that simply doesn´t work as a team on defense: most are red and purple (so using multiples makes you weak to colors from the start, most are snipers which is close to the worst type of hero on defense and the multihitters are toolboxes and do hardly any damage at all. It´s not possible to build a strong defense team from that. So I think that dip can be ignored. it has nothing to do with that mana speed being bad, but with the fact that too few heroes of that speed have the qualities necessary for defense.

Hi G Pac, good to hear from you again. Lots to unpack there but here we go: 1. My alliance sits just outside the top 100. Sometimes we are near 500, and the highest we’ve been was in the 90’s so no shortage of people who can disassemble the best of teams. Teams with Khufu/Goseck can be a pain if you don’t get a good board, but the data here from version 1 ended before these two were released. 2. Again, this data predates Khufu and although it is pre-nerf on Xnol, he was not prevalent in war defenses at this time. With that said, I will dig through to see who was involved in this spike. Yes, Mana Speed 11 could be 1 ave+4slow. Some of them could have been other formations. It time I’ll get to the bottom of it. 3. No there is not a lot of data on those extreme ends. Like rolling a pair of dice, 7 will come up more often than snake eyes. There were 25 cases at the height of that spike. 4. My sentiments exactly. Very fast heroes just don’t have the punch it takes to be effective on defense. At least, not 5 of them together but I can see having a select one or two being useful. More to follow on this once I dig a bit deeper. Thanks again for chiming in, your points always add great insight to the discussion. Cheers G Pac!

@@ssnakepitgaming cheers! Indeed great to see you make videos again, I always love watching them and thinking about them and generally trying to make sense of data :) And I love talking shop in general obviously :D Anyway, I for some reason thought you had included the new data as well. So this is pure 1st year data? Then this is even more surprising indeed. I can´t think of any killer slow heroes from back then... Only really revivers/healers come to mind, Like Heimdall, MN, Alby, Lidenbrock, oh Alfrike of course, she always got off great in your data set even outside rush. Basically rush defense lol: double revive, Lidenbrock, taunt, Alf, you sure you didn´t mislabel a rush war lol??? No, I trust you, just keep digging! Did have a look at those 25 teams at the peak? Same team over and over or different teams with different heroes?
@ssnakepitgaming
@ssnakepitgaming Год назад
I haven't looked yet, so your guess is as good as mine! I think you could be right about the double revivers, but they didn't put up numbers like in rush when I did my healer series. I honestly can't wait to see what the results are. I'll be sure to tag you in my response. Cheers, I'll start looking at it tonight.

Ssnake! Glad to see you back. Great info here. I’m seeing true above average success leveraging your videos. Of course, even as a mostly free to play, with some pay about a year ago, I’m blessed with a reasonable number of top heroes. Just curious, what has your study revealed about element (color) composition? Is Rainbow king? Is there another composition showing any surprising results?
@ssnakepitgaming
@ssnakepitgaming Год назад
Glad you are making use of the info Mike and I wish you continued success! Rainbow is solid, but there are some things to still consider when placing your colours. I think I'll cover that in another video. Holy/dark/holy or dark/holy/dark up the middle is also a very strong formation type, and coming out on top of rainbow in many cases. Cheers Mike, and thanks for coming back!

@ssnakepitgaming
@ssnakepitgaming Год назад
Actually, Pengi was just released at the end of version 1 and didn't make it in to any of these defence teams. As I was compiling stats during December and January to start releasing videos, I never started collecting again until after the Christmas nerf, so neither version contains the powerful Christmas trio that is no longer relevant. Version 2 coverage of Krampus/MN/Santa will thankfully reflect only these heroes in their current state.
