At my company, our ESOP is completely separate from our 401k’s. We contribute to our 401k’s but only the company contributes to our ESOP accounts. I work for a private S corporation.
End of year Profit divided into shares. I retired from an ESOP supermarket, after 25yrs had 3mil...1.5 after the divorce. Lol Biggest negative issue, huge tax liability for the employee. 45%👈 Fellow retirees can easily run into trouble. 😢
@@grandpa7278 so the employees essentially do pay for their shares but they pay for it through the profits of the company they own if I understand correctly?
