Literally none of these AI generated images are anything close to what Nara-shi(Lady Nara/Hoifa-Nara/Ula-Nara) would've looked like. For starters, none of these images are Manchurian influenced, as the Qing Dynasty rulers were not ethnically Han-Chinese(like the photos), but nomadic tribes from the north and formerly known as the Jurchen people throughout most of their historical existence. A great deal of Nara-shi's history and story is all based on theories and word of mouth, as Qianlong-Huangdi(Qianlong Emperor) destroyed all traces of her from the Imperial records. She was only discovered because archeologist and historian's found her cheap nameless coffin jammed into a tomb next to Chunhui-Huang Guifei(Imperial Noble Consort Chunhui), but even then not much is known.
Empress Nara did that because she was heavily against Noble Consort Ling (3rd rank) being made the Imperial Noble Consort (2nd rank) during those times there was an unwritten rule that said that there couldn't be an Imperial Noble Consort in the harem WHILE there was an Empress present; and that's also the reason why Emperor Qianlong waited 2 WHOLE YEARS after the death of his first Empress before promoting Nara to the highest rank. It didn't matter...after she cut her hair, Ling was made Imperial Noble Consort; but she passed away before the Emperor could convince the court of granting her the Empress title. He wanted to do that because he wanted his son to be the ''legal heir'' (the son of the legal wife, not a concubine). Thank you for the video. 💜💜
She was buried next to a very high ranking concubine, the concubine who had given the emperor the greatest amount of children. The indignity is that she was entombed as more of this concubines servant rather than as an Empress alongside the Emperor. The lower ranking concubines are buried behind them.
