The kitchen cabinets and the color very very sleek looking, especially with this stain steal appliances. I think once you get the rest of your countertop things and start adding color to your room it’s going to look very designer. Nice work on getting the apartment. I hope you be very happy there. I can’t wait to see how your decorated. Have an amazing weekend.
I have the same colour kitchen cupboards and fittings. Decorate the kitchen wit whites and for the shelves some books for styling. The kitchen will look tacky with contact paper. You can also use glass candy holders or bring in any wood tones that you use somewhere in lounge. Grey is a colour that goes with many different styles of decorating. Your sheer curtains will be right by your kitchen and will add light to the kitchen. Think of the colour of your electric kettle and coffee maker to add colour. Your lounge area will also break the grey if you have different colour in that area. I would not buy all the accents furniture pieces in white as it could look monotone . Good luck
so excited for you and for us to join you on this journey! the place looks lovely, can't wait to see how you decorate it! i also really enjoyed the visual aids you drew into this video ☺
The small cabinet on the island could possibly contain your laundry soaps. I like the grey color of the cabinets. Live with them for a while before trying to change them. Use white appliances to keep the kitchen light. Same for your living room.
Love your apartment!! I was thinking in the living room put the TV on a cabinet where you were going to put the sofa and put the sofa where you were going to put the TV. Just a thought.
Be careful with the contact paper. It might damage the existing cabinets. I don’t want you to have a charge against your deposit 😅 Beautiful space and good storage ideas! 💕
I would try the L- shaped couch on the other wall. Tuck the kitchen island in closer to the sink/counter. Put appliances, bulky items in the island cupboards. I like your idea for the bathroom. That towel bar looks senseless there.
I vote for the plates and stuff to be kept in the upper cabinet closer to the stove/oven! It will be more handy to put freshly cooked food into them and then to unpack the dishwasher 😊
I've been away in Alaska for the last month so just playing catch up with all my fav channels and people that I can't miss (like you). The apartment looks lovely. I'm so happy for you and look forward to seeing you settle into your home.
Congratulations Rachel ❤ keep the apartment simple it will look much bigger and better than adding unwanted furniture pieces!! L shape sofa, dirty clothes inside the washing machine, tv, coffee table and a bed that's it for at least 12 months. All the best, lovely 🤗
So excited for you! Congratulations!! Honestly, if I were you I would move in first, unpack everything, and live like that for a week. When you live there you will see what makes sense in regards storage, and keeping what where. Then buy furniture according to your needs. I won't keep laundry detergent in the bathroom, for example. To far to bring back and forth... I think that entry way closet can fit snowboard and some storage organizer on one side, like vacuum etc. And maybe bamboo tiny clothes rack on the other side, for some coats and boots, beach purse etc. Also, local ikea might have lots of storage items and decor etc. I love going there before shopping on Amazon. Kitchen is great. Maybe swap the hardware? Just a thought. Whatever you decide to do we are excited to see! Thank you for bringing us on your adventure. Best wishes from Michigan ❤
It’s just lovely. Congratulations! I would leave the kitchen cabinets alone, lighten up the space with your decor and forget about contacting them. It never looks that good. Keep plates, bowls etc in the island. The hump in the bedroom floor is a little bit concerning.
Maybe try so new handles on the kitchen cabinets before the contact route, something a little more fabulous could be all that the kitchen needs and it'll be so much easier to fix when you want to leave.
Love the apartment, congrats! If I may make a suggestion: Instead of a hamper, why not simply place the dirty clothes inside the washer, and remove/sort them on laundry day? This way, your bathroom will have less clutter. I'm so happy for you that you now have a place to call home!
Or maybe store the hamper in the dressing? Since it’s where she will most likely take off the clothes 🤔 (I did this in my apartment because I didn’t have any space next to the washing machine)
Аbsolutely love your new apartment and space. Reminds me of when I was single and had my own place. DC has crazy apartment prices but so does California 😕❤
I’m Curious if the food will mess with you at all. Every single person who has come from another country who has lived here more than 3 months at a time have all gotten issues from the food despite eating the same foods. On another note this apartment is so Cute! I love watching you make it your own and the thought process that goes into all of it. I’m also loving the white markers that you add to your videos, like showing what you would put next to the door!
Your apartment is very nice! ❤ I am not sure about measurements, but I think the sofa would be better on the bedroom wall divider and TV / desk on the opposite side with the column. I also loved the idea of covering the kitchen. Not a huge fan of the gray, but it’s not bad…just lighter would be nicer in my humble opinion 😅
I didn’t see anyone mention it but it looks like your bathroom vanity has a drawer that may pull out - did you give it a try? Also, I think pots/pans/baking dishes in the island and the dishes/bowls over the oven & one side for spices/oils/condiments
in your videos u show us a lot of times how are u dressed in the mirror, so the mirror need to be in a space with great light, so next to the tv is a good idea
Thank you for the tour it’s beautiful and I think trying another cubbard color wouldn’t hurt. I think you should do what makes you love it more. You will be the one to see them everyday. I can’t wait to see all the things come together.
I was worried about how your home would look like after seeing the hunting tour. I don't like the American style and I hate how they don't have built-in appliances. but this apartment is nice and the bathroom is great. I'm looking forward to giving it your style. And I think the kitchen color is OK.
This apartment is lovely! So happy you got approved! I’d definitely hacked the kitchen cupboards too. Light furniture is easier to decorate and you can change them according to seasons and trends and moods with different bits and pieces. I think this kind of cupboard will only limit your possibilities. So in my opinion, and if you end up changing it, do that first, before you start decorate the kitchen, so you can have a clear view of what you’ll need. P.S. you’re glowing and I’m honestly so happy to see you this way!
Wow what a comfy appartment! I get you don't like the color of the kitchen, it is too dark. I think some renter friendly contactpaper would be a nice option! You could match the shelves in a woodtone, but you could also look for a nice soft pastelly color, like a soft green, soft pink, blue or even yellow. Depending on what accent color you want in your home. Good luck!
