Hello, thanks for the video, I think I have an issue with mine too. I was just wondering if you could provide further info on the wiring of the power supply? What did you do for the 10v line (just use 12v?) Also has there been any negatives to using an ATX powersupply? Is it still working etc? Thanks in advance.

The text from that post is copied below - Regarding how the wiring is connected if using the Apevia 300w ATX psu as a replacement. Straight colour for colour connecting, but I’d recommend checking voltage first *before* connecting etc. Connections are labelled with voltage on the main circuit board. There is no 10v label for the connector or on the Emu main board, and the VP connection is at 5.19v dc. Process - I removed the correct colour and voltage wires from the psu 20 pin connector, and connected the wires into the Emu main board wiring connector - matching colours and voltages. surprised to see you running PROM1 and Composer, as they are the same rom samples with slightly different presets.. but same intstruments. love my P2500, its a great rompler! next thing is the button board ;) lining up the little LED pipes is a REAL pain if you accidentally jostle them out of alignment.
The reason for having both ROMs is mainly due to the different presets - I study how they have been constructed. One of the many challenging [in a good way] aspects of the Emu design is the number of parameters available to program. Exploring different aspects of a sound helps me understand how to apply the different settings to obtain interesting results. Regarding the missing buttons, I did consider replacing them but I've kind of got used to it... and they serve to remind me that it is an ageing piece of gear which is not so easily replaced....🤓 Each time I switch on maybe the last time we interact together ... one day this will be true - eventually either either me or the CS will die ... So I take some extra care and treat with respect the time we have together ... 🥳 ... whilst allowing for things which are not quite right - it teaches me acceptance, and reminds me that the 'imperfect' can be beautiful... Indeed, I think sometimes it can be our imperfections which enhance us, and our 'imperfect uniqueness' can sometimes be attractive ... 😻
Thanks for doing these …..Really interesting videos I have a working P2k , and a dead Proteus 2500 because of a dead power supply and have been unable to find a replacement so far. Would love to get it working again.

@@1heUndertaker Hi - no problem at all. As it turns out - after my house move last year I can no longer find the dead P2500, which must be in one of the boxes I have in storage - or maybe it was thrown out in the move - I can't recall !! I do still have my P2K wired up in the home studio though, so for now I am focussing on getting to grips with that and going beyond the presets into some more interesting programming. I tend to like to program from init patches so I never really tried to understand the P2K properly. I'm in North Yorkshire - where are you based ?
