My man, myyyy maaaan I know I shouldn't be annoyed but the girl who voices this character is Mexican and I just feel like maybe she speaks her own language differently enough that you find it forced xD idk.

@@narius_jaden215 Nope, it's very clearly not native speech. I don't know if you're a native Spanish speaker or not, but as someone who was born and has lived his whole life in Latin America I can tell you it sounds obviously off, like she's making an active effort to pronounce the words correctly. She doesn't sound Mexican at all when she's speaking Spanish; she sounds a lot more like some who has learned Spanish as a second language. Also, if I did my research correctly, she has at least lived most of her life in the USA. Maybe she's daughter or grandaughter of Mexicans, but I'd bet she herself is American. Incidentally, that's also why I said I like her accent. It reminds me a lof of how I sound when speaking Enlgish. It would make sense for her to get it correctly if she's a Latina from the USA. Finally (and sorry for the big reply) I didn't mean any of this in a bad way. Her speech is correct, I like the dub, and it's also clear she speaks Spanish (unlike Irene's VA, for example). It's just obviously not native Spanish, and I wanted to point that out.

I kinda of agree with you. Her Spanish sounds forced, it's clear she's not a native. It's particularly noticeable when she says a full phrase like her "¡Muchas gracias!" or "¿Crees que puedes atraparme?". It's like she's struggling to pronounce the words correctly. I've heard Latinos from the USA speak Spanish, and they sound like her, so I agree that she's probably a chicana. That being said, I think it's a step in the right direction. I did like the accent (I mean, I'm from Argentina and I kinda sound like her when I speak English, having some trouble with the r's and all that) and it's definetly an improvement over Irene and her "Deite pwisa!". This is just my guess, but if the VA is a chicana, she should have some experience with the way native Spanish speakers (like probably her parents or grandparents) speak English. Here's hoping they get some actual latam VA's (of which there are many talented ones, particularly en Mexico) for the next Bolivarian ops, maybe even for a full Spanish dub.

@@rodrigolealmartir5902 Interesting that you mention the r's since the way the VA rolls them in spanish is rather strange (or wrong like in the "muchas gracias" line), so much so that they are what confirmed to me that she isn't a native.

I do recommend giving feedback to Yostar since they gave a section dedicated to the quality of their EN and regional VA in their questionnaire!

@@abyssaljoey7695 yeah, I mentioned them precisely because they are a telltale sign when a Spanish native is speaking English and the other way around. In Spanish we roll our r's a lot more than in English, so both English and Spanish natives have trouble adapting to that change when speaking the other language. So yeah, her "Muchas grrrrrrracias, Doc!" is one of the reasons I'm sure she's not a native too. She's overcompensating that "r".
