They were enemies who loved the same woman. After losing the love of their life, one went out to fight to death, the other drowned his grief, the last one lost his senses. In the end, they shared the same sadness and acceptance. What a beautiful concept and story line. It feels illegal to watch this for free. Edit: Someone corrected that this is actually just one person. A king who lost his mother. These are 3 personas that showed different coping for grief. That's sadder. My previous interpretation was how their dance spoke to me. But with this new knowledge, it proves that this is really art. It's made to make you feel something.
this performance losing proves that the judges panel is as creditable as pulling random people off the street for their opinion. Any dance fan can concur that in practically every element this team showcased a better performance.
Same. I feel like there's something really off with Kingdom. Their's was more original and unique. I'm not discrediting the other group because they did really well too. But there's something about this performance that deserved a win. I should say the same with the rap performance. I thought that "It's One" did their homework better than the other group. The vocal round however, I agree that team Mayfly should've won. I think it's because mnet has beef with YG (aka the company Ikon's in).
I actually stan all groups in the opposition, and none in this one, but I liked this wayy better. The artistry and the way they executed it was just so clean and perfect. Meanwhile, the other group aimed for 'powerful' which is what all the groups choose to do EVERY ROUND, plus the execution is powerful but not that clean and the appeal is just... easily forgettable. I know that I have less credentials than the judge, but their judgments make me question the skills that come with their credentials. This is clearly better than the other performance even in the eyes of people who simply has eyes.
The BOYZ dancer needs to be in a historical drama. Don't know his name but he very handsome and can dance well. I can watch him all day during this pandemic.
Honestly nothing can beat this concept, this story, every member had a unique style and a sense of individuality and that's what makes this so special. And the look that all three of them gave told their backstory, their gaze told the audience what each of them meant.
Group performances like this are actually harder than one thinks because not only the dancers have to show unity as a team, they also have to show their respective styles and strengths, and Juyeon, Taeyang and Donghyuk really nailed the purpose.
This performance was based on a historical figure, king Yeonsangun of Korea’s Joseon dynasty, who was exiled for his tyrannical governing. He was once a good king, but by knowing the truth of his mother’s death, he became a violent ruler. This performance shows the story of the lonely king’s life by each three of them symbolizing three egos of the king. I’m assuming that Taeyang symbolizes violence, Juyeon profligacy, and DK his misery and lunacy. Hope this helps international fans to understand this performance better :))
You know what? Juyeon just sitting on the chair and staring right at the camera and everyone lost their sh** Everyone was shook. That's Lee Juyeon's power, not everybody has this charisma. He just stared at you and did nothing but you were impressed immediately. That's how Juyeon stole my heart.
Juyeon needs to be casted in a period drama where he plays an antihero who starts off evil but you can't help love him. You root for him as he struggles with his inner demons as he tries to become a better person. Oh gosh Juyeon you are perfection. He reminds me of my favorite actor Lee Jin Wook.
Juyeon isn’t just a man, he is the human form of excellence and talent. he’ll be taught in the history books for centuries to come. Every step he take gives new meanings to life. Juyeon is the embodiment of perfection in its truest form.
@@iplay2166 nope it's about the 3 ego's of a Joseon tyrant King whom his mother was killed. So he went kuku and start drinking and killing people cause of his grief.
:( yes, I cant deny the fact that Wolf is a masterpiece. Bc I ve deep into Exo back then, but Im agreed with your comment sm. They looks like more to cover :) I mean the best cover ever, but I prefer this one. Bc this one just suits my taste well as I want to see the 'new' performance tht never performed by other kpop idols and they just beyond my expectation :) no one can change my mind tht this team deserved to win :)
fun fact: all three of them are unbothered KINGS. even if there's even a slightest mistake, they handled it very well and doesn't get bothered by it on stage whether in this show or other live showcase. WE STAN PROFESSIONALISM.
They chose URBAN instead of hip hop, which means they are showing that they are capable in showing lot of genres in one performance. Hip hop is the basic of urban dance, but inside urban there are also pop, breaking, locking, house, contemporary, etc. Urban dances usually don't involve many big moves but focuses on the details, story, and music.
I’m an Atiny but I’m pretty impressed by this performance. Like I really like it. It not the usual “I’m gonna look super cool while dancing” it has a proper story and I loved every part of it. I think I’m secretly rooting for them
I’m an atiny too! And an ikonic. I never in a million years would have thought they would even meet each other but now they’re against each other??? kingdom really is doing things to me 😭😭😭
I’m a Deobi and I’m really thankful for all the comments about Juyeon :”) thank you so much. But let’s talk about DK from iKON too! Like he embodied the insane persona from the moment he stepped onto the stage. He literally went crazy and his charisma was over the moon. Let’s appreciate our boys for equal! And the sword catch by Taeyang, wow!! His dance break was amazing but I just can’t stop replaying that sword catch, he was very precise. With all certainty, this was legendary.
1. Is the performance so neat? *Yes.* 2. Did they portray the storyline really well? *Yes.* 3. Am I cryin because this performance is just so perfect? *ABSOLUTELY YES.*
Their dancing and story line made me cry literally I can't stop crying The story covers the sad history of Korea And it's so emotional The music Their expressions Their dance The tempo The acting I just can't help but cry I actually cried watching a dance performance They really brought it out well I'm proud of all them really
@@Jonilliful in this video: 0:32 Juyeon; dark outfit, long hair:The boyz Also: 3:42 1:11 Donghyuk, Red outfit, long hair: Ikon Also: 4:14, 4:41 1:15 Taeyang, short hair:SF9 Also: 3:08 2:48 On the left Donghyuk, in the middle Taeyang, on the right Juyeon
Stage intrepetation: "The stage starts with red lights and powerful atmosphere, which represents King Yeonsan-gun. According to the history, Yeonsan-gun was a king who excelled in politics, study, and was expected to continue the throne. But there was an incident where Yeonsan-gun's mother died." If you look at the stage, Taeyang danced and burnt a piece of paper with "Queen Yeonsan-gun's mother" written on it, while a woman wearing hanbok dies with a knife behind her. "In fact, Yeonsan's mother was killed, and after that, Yeonsan started to go crazy." On the stage, after she died, they started performing to represent Yeonsan feeling. Yoo Taeyang expresses sadness, Juyeon shows entertainment/enjoyment, and Donghyuk shows madness. "At that time, Yeonsan-gun was trapped in his grief and killed many people with a knife." Yoo Taeyang expresses it with a knife dance, and Juyeon expressing the enjoyment of Yeonsan-gun as a performance of drinking alcohol while turning the table upside down. Lastly, Donghyuk expresses the unstable emotions of Yeonsan-gun by expressing madness with his facial expression. After that, the three turned into maniacs, performing a bit violent, and began to face the end with lyrical songs. "He begins to feel sad about his mother's death and faces his own death by breaking a glass at the end. At that time, Yeonsan-gun was crazy about drinking." When he broke the glass on stage, red water flowed out, which can be assumed that Yeonsan-gun died. Trans cr by.rendezwoous
so the last part where donghyuk, taeyang, and juyeon dances together with sentimental music represents that Yeonsan-gun had already embraced everything and finally became at peace with himself??
im sorry but the people who didn't vote for this are just tasteless. i watched this performance with my mouth open from the start until the end and it had such an impact. the other teams performance was also creative and awesome but this...This is everything the acting, the stroyline, the dancing and the creativeness. I will never forget this performance. I still cant comprehend the fact that they didnt win this round. But im glad that they are happy with what they did cuz damn i still couldnt recover.
everytime i watch this, THE BOYZ reaction to Juyeon always get me, like their reaction says that "THAT'S OUR LEE JUYEON" and the close up to Q knowing that Juyeon is his dance buddy and Q looks so proud!
You know what? Team B really understand the assignments given. For rap unit, they really showed pureeeeee rap skills. And here, dance unit, they showed story just by dance skills! 100% score for them!
It's a NO LIMIT assignment tho. There's no limitations. If the groups that only rapped or only danced wanted to limit themselves that's their problem. Don't try to say the other groups are not skilled because of that, they are just creative. And don't come at me sideways because I'm an ikonic, a deoby, a fantasy, and an atiny. I want them all to win, I'm just objective.
they contributed their ideas tho , don't ignored the 2 artist too! sorry for I only speak for SF9 Yoo Taeyang - he is the official choreographer, judge in World Klass ,he is the pride of SF9 , He is the leader in Kingdom (as the real leader said) he always created a choreo and concept in every SF9 comeback..he also directed and choreographed the STEALER and Jealous ( now or never) I'm tryin to say is, pls also appreciate and accept Yoo Taeyang and Juyuen creativity too! , though I don't know DK ,obviously your fave coz you only mentioned that he made this choreography which could mislead to anyone , the 3 of them made this choreo !
@@hueen3402 agree they are worked togheter! DK, Taeyang and Juyuen are talented, and really amazing dancers, the performance it is a sign of their talent, elegance and ability.
This is like a Contemporary Dance, and the 3 of them really portray the emotion in the dance.. They have their own spotlight and show each of their different versatilities but they still able to dance with unity as a team..
Juyeon looks SO good in this historical style...gonna need some casting directors to get on that fast bc now I desperately want to see him in a historical drama.
dance is not just jumping or just loud music. But facial expressions, how they got into the song, have meaning in the dance, something conceptualized, and make people very gaping at the sight. and all of them, I'm so proud.
It's been over 2 years and I still can believe they didn't win with this. The Story was so well done and they filled up that space with just the 3 of them, incredible
They killed it. If you're not a dancer you'd have no idea how tough this actually is. The steps with detailed movements, exact expression to the beat and feel, sync like a group also showcasing your own vibe maintaining the theme is very tough. But they nailed it. One of the best performances I've seen.
Someone who actually agrees. Sadly, they didn't win (Mayfly won all three categories). Some judges maybe biased (emphasis on "maybe"). There was just more story and artistic thought into this performance. An unbiased opinion, I believe they should have won the dance unit. I'd say vocal unit was a Mayfly win. Rap unit is honestly equal. Both were incomparable.
@@gumballgombio698 I've yet to watch episode 8. So I can't say about the vocal unit, but dance and rap unit, It's One should've won.. I stan all the groups in Kingdom, whoever wins I'm happy but when you see a performance, you actually know who aced it, who deserves it and judgement should be done on that basis.
I've never seen this sort of an elegant performance in my entire life. This is itself is an ART. Thank you to all the 3 members. Juyeon you're really cool.
nobody talks about Juyeon. let's praise him too please. he has been working so hard lately, slept very little and had a rest in order to show good results. DK and Taeyang were amazing too. Sf9, ikon, TBZ fighting!!!
im not talking about him but i keep on thinking about his handsome face when i should focus with my iKON. why he so handsome and a great dancer tho. he even remind me of Lee Do Hyun from Hotel Del Luna😂
@@user-rz2gu7ss7t I watched clips of them pranking him. It was cute. But his dancing is really amazing along with Q and well, all of them dance really well.
i love the other team's dance performance, but with this group, something just knocks within you and you feel like you're in a whirlwind of emotions that feels right and makes so much sense.
I think this definitely should have won the dance round. They were asked to do a performance that showed the beauty and history of Korea and that is exactly what this team did. The other team was great but this performance was beautiful and fulfilled what they were asked to do. Thanks for a wonderful performance.
A stage that lingers is truly the stage that wins and being announced as winner or loser won’t change that. They weren’t just dancing, they were telling a tragic story emphasized by their form of art and if you felt something while watching this, it just means they’ve accomplished what they set out to do.
This is really unforgettable. When the performance ended I felt like I feel watching sad and touching moments in dramas. Somewhat like my heart is too big for my chest. No words, no thoughts, only tears and emotions
I will forever think that they should have won this category because it was about DANCE and their expressions and movements were on point, but it was Kingdumb so...
Agreed, it honestly seemed like they were determined to rob The Ikon, SF9 and the Boyz team in both the Dance and Rap category. I liked the other performances, but they had nothing on this team in both rap and dance. The judges in my opinion went for mainstream idol performances ( which is fine) but this right here is artistry. Everything about this was beautiful and told a story.
Im still salty bcs they not win this round. No hate but the other group was simply a cover but THIS was a masterpiece, an art i literally cried watching this
This team is very skilled in dancing. Not only were their moves clean and fluid, the well timed smooth transitions and synchronisation was on point. I have watched both dance performances a good amount of times already but Team B’s execution of their choreography is everything. It’s just very pleasing to the eyes when a performance is this clean and gorgeous. Well done Team B
Preach! And the fact that they used an all instrumental music captivates us more. Without the lyrics of a song to actually distract, the audience can focus more on the choreography and the execution
@@glaimynnecadungon1643 Honestly both DK and Bobby surprised me the most this episode with how they naturally took charge of the leadership roles in their groups. How Bobby was pretty much mentoring the younger guys and making arrangements that showcased their rapping skills, that is what a genius producer is all about. Then you have DK guiding his team while at the same time directing and creating a performance that is unique and adjusting himself perfectly to the other two members styles of dance, is what you call having experience. These 2 in my opinion showed more expert views then the judges this round. They along with the other TBZ and SF9 members understood the assignment perfectly this time. It’s a shame not many people are seeing just how much iKON is thinking outside the box on this show
I have watched both performance and if criteria if synchronization is there - I believe this team should win in that criteria; I caught Team A in some timestamp not on the same level of energy and delays of some moves; I believe they shot this on one continuous take and it is always a plus for me. I am not much of a fan of folk/traditional concept since I am more inclined to modern and hip-hop but this is a masterpiece and is a coherent storyline. Purely dance - no other extravagance; the attention went to these 3 men alone the whole time. It's their impact.
I agree completely as this was just amazing, but when you have popular idol groups doing idol dance moves not contemporary like these boys get ready for the tissues, I dont think our panel of "experts" are going to agree with us........pfft......
Juyeon can be a prince in historical drama. The way he flipped the table was so satisfying. His dance tho, he got my attention. Is he the main dancer of tbz? im rooting for him. - ikonic
