I’ve seen a few people voice their concerns about this, so I’m adding and pinning this comment for visibility. Before making this video, I asked the developers if it was working as intended that it’s possible to solo Nihilus with a high gear Zombie team. They approved it, so do not worry, my video won’t lead to a nerf or change of the NightSister faction.
This is one of the few encounters in the game where calculated risks can be taken to apply skill > RNG; so it becomes an enjoyable challenge, and awards a sense of skill-based accomplishment. Hopefully CG doesn't break this, and builds more like it in the future.
A few things, you didn't really mention how important the stacks of cycle of suffering are to your damage output. And also I dont understand why you ever used AV aoe attack?

Skelturix has been doing some amazing theory crafting and vids that help us all. Before he posted another stellar vid he had to ask the devs first if they would nerf the team? CG has become so protective of this raid that every time a solid team is developed the question then becomes "when will they nerf it"? Your vids are solid and I thank you for making us all better at a raid that continues to have the goal post moved.
I know this video is old, but still very relevant. It actually inspired me to develop a healing counter overlay, to keep track of my heals. I don't quite have the mods to solo him just yet. But I can get around 40% (Currently only have three of them at g9 and AV at g12). Thanks for the info :D

My best advice for when to use zombie heal is when bonds is low, this means talia is usually within the full heal range. Great vid, I was working on this team and could tell there was potential for the solo now Well played on brining it home

When you mention “crit damage set, full offense mode” did you mod her with a crit dmg triangle I assume (offense arrow and cross) and kept one health set on her?

"DN decided to use his basic before Annihilate" you're not alone there. I've noticed that happening quite often as are others. I've also noticed a toon with UW being skipped before UW could be used and then DN uses annihilate. Maybe it's a bug but I've also noticed where the raid ability 'Remove Isolate from ally' disappeared.
Alright. Skelturix, could you try at what part of P3 we could launch this team to get a bonus momentum ? Some saber-boosting Asajj when Traya already low to get to go to P4
Very nice job. What is your estimation of the dmg output that can be expected with 'normal' mods? Most players lack mods averaging >150 offense and >10 speed per mod. For instance, if using offense arrows for Talia, Talzin, and Asajj; most players will lack the speed required to kill the first two adds to start the chain as quicklly as shown in your video. Thx!
The point of the nerf was thast Zombie's use previously came from non-sense. It doesn't make sense that a character gets worse the more you invest in it. That was CG's problem with Zombie. Not the Nightsister's effectiveness in P4. of the Sith Raid. In fact, I would gamble that when CG reworked Zombie, they had P4 HSTR in mind and wanted to find a way to improve her (In the gearing department) as a character while maintaining her viability in the Sith Raid. HSTR has been out for over 6 months now, the year anniversary is in, what, February? CG is happy for us to start having reliable ways to clear the raid. It would be unhealthy for us not to. I get that people claim how money hungry they are, but rest assured, they've gotten plenty of money from whales over the last 6 months in respect to the HSTR raid. And they'll continue to get more as people's impatience has them spending to get these dominant teams in the raid maxed on gear.
@@konstantinospetrakis2418 the higher the gear, the higher your consistency. I wouldnt give an honest attempt until all G11. The most important part is Asajj's leader Zetad. You dont need speed because youre manipulating turn meter with abilities which doesnt allow Nihilus to take a turn. Thats why learning how to maintain the TM train is so crucial.
Hey man, it's a bit confusing as to why you're attacking Sion and not nihilus at times, can you elaborate on your choices for whom you're attacking, when and why? Like what are you seeing that we aren't?
He attacks sion when his toon has defense down, and has to use a basic ability. Nihilus gains protection back whenever hit by a basic attack from a toon with defense down
At 1:40 what does offence set + triangle mean? Also at 1:40 does the bottom line: Offence arrow, cross, secondaries go with option b? Anyway back to the 1st Q. I know I've got to have an offence set and I think offence primary on the triangle but that only adds up to 5 slots filled. Very confused!!
what is the strategy to utilize Asajj's lead, I am not sure I understand how to keep the TMR train running. When do we avoid hitting DN to not feed him speed? Where do the heal over time effects come from? I understand to use heals to bring Talia's tm up, but that's all I understand, lol.
Cool! Curious why not use talia's harrowing assault, doesn't it trigger her basic when she is below 100% health? Extra damage with same healing effect, or I misunderstand something?

The problem wasn't that paper zombie was to good the problem was the backwards mentality of gearing zombie being bad. Also I liked the nerfs to raid nihilus it makes p1 fun as apposed to disgusting and RNG

She'll be at much lower health at g10, so her heal won't be as effective in getting Talia to 100% TM, which will break the chain. See how much health you can mod for at g10, then see what percentage that corresponds to on Talia, then decide whether or not the heal is large enough to be effective.
I noticed that many times you prefer to go with basics, although specials were ready? Any specific reason? I understand that TMR with Asajj lead works if you damage an enemy, doesn't matter if it's basic or a special. Just wondering! BTW.. awesome vid!
i think its based on the concept he mentioned where you want to save those for when talia was at low TM to boost her up and keep the chain going. she provides most of the engine and the rest of the heals are held until needed to keep the streak from breaking
@@nathanWrobinson I can't speak for op, but I had this question mostly regarding AV aoe special attack. I suspect the answer is to avoid giving Sion extra TM too often but I'm curious if Skell will respond.
Also with Talzin's assist call: I noticed most of the time only her basic was used, but sometimes her assist call was used instead. Couldn't see a pattern.
I saw the full, video but I dont understand at all (I used to use Deathstorm) what is the main strategy here? Always having my NS at full health? What is the TM Train? I need to use Thalia to heal with her bassic? When do I need to heal? Please Help me Skellutrix
Asajj zeta lead provides 50% TM when a NS drops below 100% health. When you heal, you gain health then lose a bit to weakness. Any NS that hits 100% before weakness hits gets 50% TM - that's the main trick. So you burn off your protection ASAP. Then you do Talia basic, other heal, Talia basic other heal, ... forever, with as many damaging attacks in between heals as you can get. Occasionally you need to reset weakness when the damage is so big it's hard to heal to 100%. But you want to cleanse as rarely as possible to keep the pain stacks on Asajj and Talzin for extra damage.
It's all based on the zeta lead of Asajj giving I think 30% turn meter to any nightsister that drops below 100% which is assured at every turn they are fully healed thanks to the escalating damage to everyone caused by Traya. So it's a game of healing to full health as often as possible while still getting in attacks and keeping Traya's AOE at a reasonably number that still allows full heals by the likes of Talyas basic and zombies special. It certainly seems doable but only with practice and focusby experienced nightsister players.
+Skelturix SWGoH - can you post your speeds? I saw your general comment in a reply below about you thinking they were around +40-50, but that didn't work out for me. I tried re-modding my NS squad to get as close to the physical damage output you said, but their speeds took a big hit. Last night during the raid my AV went first and maybe Daka or Talzin after (I added some speed as I kept messing with it), but Sion always went before I could get any side killed, or both killed (during the runs where I added speed to Talzin, obviously one side was killed by her mass attack). I ultimately switched their mods around before having a run that I could post (mainly adding a speed arrow instead of an offense one) and posted around 4m. If you could let me (us) know what the necessary speeds are, it'll really make modding easier as the physical damage required is already hard enough to attain. Thanks
Talia's harrowing assault doesnt get used? I thought when it follows up with a basic it would be safe to use for extra damage? Unless you are concerned about the stacking debuff damage?
@Skelturix SWGoH How do you get yoru damage as high as its recommended at the start? I've been playing since the begining and I'm pretty much 1k off on most sister. Are you a whale?
She uses her basic afterwards, or doesn’t, depending on whether she’s at full health or not. Since I don’t wanna risk missing a basic, I prefer not to use the second special.
Darth Nihilus She does a bonus attack when she is not at full health. This attack is her basic. So if you see her health is below 100%, then use her special since she’ll follow up with her basic. Otherwise don’t use it
at 2:45 you say zombie needs 3 health sets with health primaries. Then at 6:22 you say you modded your zombie with a crit dmg set with offense primary. Did you solo this with the recommended health set too? If so which do you prefer?
I know you say speed is not required by I still wanna know what speeds these toons are at. Because you still managed to go before the enemy to kill the adds before Sion resummons them. Secondly I supposed all have g12+???
They had around 40-50 bonus speed I think, I didn’t pay attention as what I was focused on was offensive stats. Speed just happened to be part of the stats of the mods used. And yes, they’re all g12 with g12 items equipped. However, they’re useless on almost all of them. Only the ones oriented for offense have some interest (bayonet / multi tool). The g12 4&5/6 are useless on everyone except for Zombie (extra health allows to mod for offense instead of health)
@@NoahBraun21 - no, the whole point is that speed is irrelevant because you are increasing their turn meter (different from speed), and forming a "chain" that will allow them to go over and over again. It's pretty hard to wrap the mind around by just watching this video, I agree, but after practicing and using this team on several runs for myself now, I get it, and it truly has nothing to do with their speed. It's all about efficiently moving through the healing cycle so that Traya's bonds reduce the team's health after they've been at full health, thus filling a substantial part of their turn meter due to AV's leadership.
@@mikekohary1075 I understand the mechanic, I run this team but my comment was on how in all of these videos people say speed doesn't matter and then their toons make the first moves.
I still don't understand why you're hitting Nihilius with basic attacks. I thought that was counterproductive? Yet I see it happening repeatedly. Can someone explain?
At 7:39, your text describes the most annoying thing I've seen: DN randomly uses his BASIC first before Annihilate. I was stunned.. he cleansed zombie taunt, then Annihilate Daka. Man I was pissed. I've only seen it once though.
The one problem I keep having is that whenever I use a heal, Talia is always going before my other nightsisters. So my other NS are not getting enough time for their heals to cooldown because Talia is taking the first turn in a chain. Is this just really bad RNG for me or is their a way to circumvent this?

You can’t hit Traya as long as DN and/or Sion are alive. As for Sion, I think that yes I could have damaged him a little more. There’s room for improvement on this side ;)
cant really do this on these stats, using Nightsisters in arena means I can't afford to lose speed. is it weird that my Nightsisters are pretty pumped up (maxed gear, maxed mods on most slots) but can only do 10% of a tier 5, stage 4 sith raid? all running over 200 speed, all at or above the health required, Daka is at 50,000, my talia hits way harder than yours, as does Talzan and Ventress ... I get plague activated, is that screwing it up? what are the actual stats on your toons?
turns out we were still doing it on the old settings at that point, have done it since with completely different results. started with 40% left on Nihilus and went on to complete the entire phase 4, Sion + Traya, then Traya. (doubt that's possible in Heroic?) Our Guild is looking at this raid more optimistically now .... so many just couldn't get the hang of it on the old settings and didn't bother playing.
@@fergusdenoon1255 Congrats! Yeah it's not possible on Heroic, but NS do work well to kill Sion once DN is down, and to kill Traya once Sion is down. They're the best p4 team.
4000 PD on Asajj is downright unrealistic..., I have Offense Arrow/Cross (square is 6dot) and +115, +76, +118, +87, +147, +115 and I"m at 3675....even with 8.5 on arrow and cross I don't see me reaching 4000.
The others I can come close to....though I wonder if it's even worth it....if you don't turn lock DN you are going to end up doing much worse with a team like this with the way you are modding....seems all or nothing
@skelturix could you please show your units stats. I have gotten my units real close to the goal numbers you put in the begging, but I'm not getting nearly as far as you are. I'm getting about 40% of nh health, then he gets enraged. I'm thinking that speed might actually be a factor. I noticed that you do make a few mistakes but are able to recover and still solo nh. For me it feels like if I make one false move I'm screwed. I suspect that your toons have all their gold gear pieces so they have that extra 12 speed on top of whatever they are at
I tried this with the mod suggestions dn just kept going couldn’t get Tm removed got just 4 million any advice guys would be appreciated all ns g12 good mods too
Every time a night sister drops below full health they gain 50% turn meter from Asajj lead. This will provide off of the bonds of weakness stacks from Traya, so if everyone is at full health and you take a turn everyone is damaged and gains 50% TM. Then you heal the team again with the various heals the nightsisters have and gain another 50% TM. Meanwhile with Asajj lead every time you hit Nihilus there’s a 25% chance to remove turn meter which cannot be resisted, so you go all the time while Nihilus struggles to move.
well apperently gear 11 but gear 12 is more likely recommended.. I tried this with my g10 zombie and managed to get out 1.5M damage to traya in P4 on Heroic. Of course you need to tune your characters and maybe try to get the best damage by doing it over and over again for a couple of times. :) good luck ;)
bonds of weakness takes away hp and ventress lead gives tm when they fall below full health so with bonds stacked on Traya at about 18 or more when healed to full the bonds stack auto eats some health triggering ventress lead ability to fill tm on sisters it's a mix of boss effects affecting leader abilities
