Fun fact: At the height of this song, the fourth member / "lead singer," Dawn Robinson left the group. So, you are experiencing them as a fresh trio that had to navigate singing new parts without Dawn.
OMG...YASSSSS They are or were a Four member group. Go dig in their crates. Even Stevie Wonder made them get back together to do a song with him. He was not doing 3, "I need all 4 of y'all" that's my guess of what he may have said 😂😂😂😂
@@MAJreactionsThey never had a "lead" singer in their group, but the 4th member who left, was the one that originally sang the first two verses of this song. The one on the left, in the red, doesn't sing on this song in the studio version except a little ad-libbing at the end...
We can appreciate this wonderful performance without discussing the 4th member who left the group almost 30 years ago. Those who don't know the history don't care who's in the group and who's not.
It's not that they can hold a note they all can sing lead and use to talk about it back then. I seen them perform live 3 times twice as the original 4 and once as a trio with the new replacement and they sound exactly like the song if not better live... I will always be an original envogue fan so yes I miss Max and Dawn now...
This is the wrong live performance. The original song was recorded with the original 4 members. If you wanna really understand the power of the song you need to react to a live performance with Dawn, who was the original lead vocalist. En Vogue is one of only a handful of groups where you can't really swap in lead singers. The leads were chosen very purposefully. The group has continued on for 20 years after Dawn left, but by and large they have never been as great as they were with the original 4. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZOSLgVuXhFQ.html
@tylerl2437 exactly cuz when dawn sings this song she sings it like she MEANS it, singing is not all about being great vocally and yes this group are great vocally.
