Enchanted Forest reopens full-time after devastating year

Hard work and community support helped the beloved amusement park survive the COVID shutdown, wildfires and a damaging ice storm. The Enchanted Forest will celebrate its 50th year on August 29 with a cake cutting ceremony in the park's western town of Tofteville-a milestone that, last year, Tofte and his family weren't sure the park would reach.

Whenever we came up from California to see our relatives in Portland we'd always take time to visit The Enchanted Forest. It will always have a place in my heart.

I went to this place when I was a little kid. I'm glad that it has survived and recovering even after the wildfires, ice storm, and, of course, COVID. It's a treasure in Oregon we can't afford to lose.

Yes, let's do away with that pesky "free speech" thing, too. LOL It's an _opinion._ You don't have to agree with the dude. Are people not _allowed_ to speak just because you don't agree with them? Does this sound "right" or "fair" or "honest" or "true" to you? Because I don't understand why he can't _speak his mind._ Just as _you_ are speaking yours. Now we just _shout each other down?_ Is that the "new" etiquette? When do the knives and handguns come out?

PS I'm happy for the old guy's dream ... the creator of the amusement park (or whatever the place is). It was awesome the community "rallied" around their memories of the art he'd created. Very cool.
