Have heard ad nauseam the comments debating which P & P and which Mr Darcy is best.. had read the book but never seen either the mini series or the movie.. To be fair I watched both.. so., 2005 movie won for me.. and beautiful Matthew MacFadyen is the best Darcy hands down! Yes I admit Colin Firth scored points for the lake scene.. but to me he was outclassed by Matthew striding across that sodden fog shrouded field in his night shirt and great coat.. what a sensual sight he was.. utterly unforgettable! For me there is really no comparision.. Matthew had chemistry with Kiera that sizzled.. totally palpable it was.. and Matthew talked with every part of him.. eyes that mezmorize.. hands that literally speak.. expressions that say what words cannot.. the most sensual walk.. hair that you longed to touch and run your hands through.. a sweet almost smile at times that broke your heart to see.. and that voice that could melt a heart at 50 paces.. plus he has the most beautiful profile ever created.. that scene with the sunrise and their noses touching is beautiful beyond words.. And who can forget how he looked and the heartrending way he said,.I love you.. most ardently! That scene alone would melt a heart of stone! Use the word beautiful often when talking about Matthew MacFadyen.. and why not? Because in all honesty.. he just IS!!
