For a fun comedy this was a surprisingly touching scene and showed that Dave was kind of a selfish prick who just wanted Link to help make him popular. Stoney was a surfer dude who maybe wasn't very deep but had a good heart
Yeah as much as I like this movie Dave could be a bit of a dick. I mean he only dumped Link because Robyn liked him better than she did him. Good job Stoney saved the day in this scene!
"You don't bag your friends just cause they get in your way, no matter what..." Growing up as kid watching this I learned alot. Not to be afraid ov to show who you are, to have fun and be thankful for those who call you a friend.
nugs means Maruhuana Northern Lights Cannabis indica. Grindage is the stoner devices used to "grind" the nugs of marihuana flower. They are then smoked, which induces the "chillin" feeing they describe.
@@rawtrout007 in the movie that's not what he was talking about. What you said is right, but he called hot girls "nugs" in the movie. And "grindage" is food.
I love how they have a tight, loving embrace and not just an impersonal “bro” hug. Surprisingly good depiction of positive masculinity for a goofy early 90s comedy.
As insanely campy and fun as this movie is, this scene is particularly serious, poignant, and heartwarming. You'd think you were watching a different movie for a moment.
I first watched this movie already being a big fan of Lord of the Rings and The Mummy! I was excited to see Sam Gamgee and Rick O'Connell together, but to my surprise, Pauly Shore's Stoney (whom I'd never seen in anything before) ended up being my favorite character!
Forgive me lol I grew up in the Hood so I don't know to much suburban white boy street slang ... So can somebody plz tell me what " Grindage and Wheezing " means ???
I do believe what Stoney said in a very casual comprehensible way “Just because Link is the new guy and got a so called “attention” doesn’t you shouldn’t abandon him.” And yes Stoney do care about is chicks, hanging out and having fun.
If they made a sequel they could call it: "Encino Man 2: Like Father, Like Son" and Finn Wolfheart could PLAY Brendan Fraser's character Link's son with Sean and Pauley reprising their roles of Dave and Stoney with kids of their own.
It would need to be the same actors though. It's just not the same when they try to recast/replace the original ones. Think that's why not many people were interested in the third Mummy movie when the original Evie didn't return
My little kid gives me that same look when he just got into mischief-where Dave says don’t look at me like that-makes me almost tear up and I gotta give him a pass cause it reminds me of link getting dumped
There’s three things in life that everybody know. 1. You’re allowed to have more than one best friend. 2. Always be trustworthy for those who believe in Jehovah and Jesus. And 3. If you got a problem with someone you knew who’s a enemy back your day. You come forward and tell one of your friends like a soldier.
“You don’t bag your friends just cause they get in your way, no matter what dude” “Like You Care? The only thing you’ve ever cared about in your life is Nuggs Chilling and grindage” “YEAH WELL I HAPPEN TO CARE RIGHT NOW”
@Screw youtube well we should all be wishing he won look at this braindead establishment puppet fool we got now. Not sayin you voted for him. But trump actually took action and wasn't a fake president.
