Encouragement for Care Givers 

Mrs Patricia you are God sent.

I am a caregiver for my mom. It is so wild and on time that this shows up in my feed today. God knows what we need when we need it.

I just lost my father after losing my mother 4 months ago. I took care of them both for 7 years. I feel so lost without them. I didn't have any training or calling to be a nurse or caregiver; I just loved them both too much to have them be in a nursing home. It was utterly exhausting but at least I knew that they were totally loved by me.

We are care givers to in laws 90 & 94 after decades of Rescue Mission Ministry! Praise Jesus..

I was my mom's caregiver for several years. My siblings decided it was best to put her in a home, but she didn't get the right care there so I decided I could care for her better at home where she wanted to be. It was the hardest thing I EVER done, but I would do it all over again. I got no help from my siblings. I was exhausted. When she was passing everyone was crying but I was still in caregiver mode as I had to help get mom the stretcher, gather her clothes, etc. It wasnt until we all were picking out the casket and wording of the obit that I broke down crying and couldnt stop. I think I slept for 3 days straight, but my strength was still lacking and still is. My back, shoulders and knees crack and ache from lifting her. But she always told me what a great daughter I was for helping her and taking care of her. She always said God would bless one day for it. I miss my mom so much. I was watching funny show and was laughing. I thought she was sleeping, but she said, "I'm going to miss hearing that laugh." 😭 It's funny that when I laugh at something funny now I can hear her laugh coming out of me. 🥰 I pray I can get my strength back and lose the weight I gained while taking care of her.

My hubby had been my 24 7 caregiver for the past 4.5 yrs. He is such a gem, and i am incredibly grateful for the many sacrifices he has made to care for me.😭 I pray for God to bless him abundantly for his sincere and tender dedication.

Thank you! I am a caregiver to my mom. I am exhausted. Hospice is setting up a 5 day respite for me. My mom accuses me and fights me. She doesn't realize she doesn't remember things so she lashes out a blames me. Prayers are appreciated I am trying to honor my mother.

Thank you for sharing this Patricia. Our traveling ministry came to a surprisely halt about 23 years ago. My husband was almost bedridden for 15 years. I stood on the Word and in Faith, and spent many hours of prayer in our prayer room. He was in and out of the hospital, and he went from 200 pounds to 117 pounds. The Lord has brought him to a place of now being able to be healed enough to pastor our church, and do food outreach ministry.

The hardest part of Caregiving is NO Family living close by, and the other is the one you are caring for they Family, is to busy with they own personal lives and they families they never reach out, just saying O thank you or taking such good care of my brother, we know he is a handful and problem pain in the behind but don't ask me or us, So i have learn to walk it alone just me and Jesus for I know he will sustain me and watch over me One last thing having very very limited funds / insurance does not cover / at 80 years I thank god for the strength he give me daily and feel I'm blessed with his grace..

I can so relate. I too was in medical field but now am the full time caregiver of my 96 yo mother. It can be taxing and stressful due to dementia. The Lord has strengthened me over the last 7 years. I now have sitters come in so I can follow my passion of pet therapy going into nursing facilities and hospice house. Ty for this word because you do often feel forgotten

Please pray for me ! Jesus heal me from Diabetes and back pain and body pain !!! Jesus get me off all pain meds insulin!!#

I went through that for 3plus months. Spouse also PD, but a sedative made everything worse, before thatca brain bleed. It was crazy after he was firstbin an icu, then rehab in 2021, never coukd see him nor told what to expect. So exhausting , so little helo and after way too much sedative for a test, ended up in hospital, barely walking anymore and into a facility which was just more atracks on me, to this day. Had to deal with lawyer stuff, etc. Sooo much and realized my own siblings didnt care nor many Christians. Was not goid before but so alone. Reached out , no true friends. Just felt like a punching bag at this facility. Really want him out now. PD is so bad. May get patches. Wish id done it when i first heard Dr. Peck So desire friends and wish i had an advocate for me. So much more. 😢

He could feed himself until 6 weks after a lockdown, he had visitors, then nothing. Got a call to think if outting him on hospice, it floored me. Put him on it, wasnt necessary, been off 2 yrs. But its horrible to see him. I had no one bring me a meal, etc. Not even have a call for prayer. I go in to him to give him healthy smoothies. Grts mashed potatoes 2x a day. He wants to walk so much. Has slid, fallen oob multiple times. Really the staff unfortunately have given me trouble.

I was also a nurse and my husband has Parkinsonism. 😮

I love being a caregiver but I hair watching them being sick😢
