@@Youthman When you spotlight theater rooms purpose built like this one, that are clearly in multi-million dollar homes, don't you think you should be upfront with people and have a disclaimer like "this is a rich man, you won't be getting any of these toys. they are nice but completely unrealistic for you, the normal person that works for a living."
I hate to say it, but that’s a really dumb and judgmental comment. I think it’s obvious to everyone watching this video that this is a very high end home theater. The purpose of My Home Theater tours is to provide inspiration. When you view a home theater like this, you still get ideas that you can incorporate into your own home theater regardless of your budget. For example, seeing how Mike has access behind, his speakers and equipment, rack is genius and anyone can use that idea in their theater build without having a multi million dollar home.
@@Youthman "The purpose of My Home Theater tours is to provide inspiration." Who funds the "inspiration" when someone covits these toys? Hmm? The promise that you can somehow make a home theater to the vast majority is a pipe dream. Most people can't afford a $400 emergency. Think next time.
Trust me I get it because I was that person that couldn’t afford a $400 emergency. For the first 12 years of our marriage, we were paycheck to paycheck and had $50,000 in consumer debt from credit cards, student loan and two vehicles). Jessica and I decided we were tired of being broke so we cut up our credit cards and made a decision to only pay cash for purchases. If we didn’t have the money, we didn’t buy it. I also started a home business building websites to earn extra income to begin paying off debt. It took us six LONG YEARS of no vacations, sacrifice and me working two jobs (and we had 4 children to provide for). After many years of hard work, sacrifice, and determination, we are now debt-free, (other than our home). So yes, I absolutely will continue to inspire people who want to build a home theater. I have seen time and time again how people get creative with a very small budget through DIY, buying used gear, finding KILLER Youthman Deals etc. you don’t have to have a super high-end home theater to create a enjoyable experience.
For how wealthy he is, he's honestly extremely humble about his success and amazing home. I don't think i've ever seen a home theater as amazing as this and I can't even imagine how great it sounds.
@@Youthman would you be able to tell what type of engineering field he is in? My wife and I were thinking he has an electrical engineer's background. But the amazing cable and job tells me he is worked extensively in networking. Awesome channel I love this theater so much ❤️
Idk what this guy does for work, but mic drop on his entire house setup/design and garage! Not the most expensive equipment, but most importantly all done 210% correctly to all details and no cutting corners. This is the best tour home theater video on RU-vid to date. The details in the building process from start to finish. Picks up mic off floor to drop it again!! The overall production of the video and questions you asked = perfect. Thank you for sharing your setup to us and all the production crew to make the video happen!!! 👍👍👍
If I’m ever able to build a room from scratch? I will absolutely be stealing the long hallway behind the screen with an open rack etc. That’s a great design. Excellent work!
A huge part of what makes the audio experience is the room. I'm starting to understand that more and more as I listen to systems in different locations. Even if you don't agree his equipment is endgame, his room definitely is. The owner looks back and can't even think of anything he would change. That room is a masterpiece, built from the ground up.
I moved my home theater into five different locations and it was astonishing how different it sounded from home to home, ranging from trash to amazing lol.
Youthman mentioned it, but notice his cleanliness, planning and attention to detail. I'm sure that has a lot to do with his success. Great video, humble home owner, great video editing, awesome host - very inspirational, thanks!
@@derrickforeal yeah true, nothing can match an actual cinema is terms of sheer scale. But thats also not the point of a home theatre also, at the end of the day it is being able to watch any movie at any time that you enjoy ;)
Holy cow! I like the way Mike thinks! I love everything about this one, the rec room, theater design, the racks and cable management are a work of art, amazing attention to detail throughout the entire home...and the boat! Mike is living the dream!
Superb wiring; clean install; roominess for maneuverability; with excellent hardware to boot. The theater is awesome. Radical, as we used to say in the 80s and 90s! Great video Michael as usual!
Yeah, this guy is definitely an engineer lol. The way he did everything himself, the wiring, the software, the whole setup - that's an engineer's DREAM.
"Budget" does vary on the amount of disposable income we all have. Not everything in his system would be considered budget (Kaleidescape, Sony Projector, and Emotiva RMC-1 processor). But things like his speakers, racks, digital movie displays and amplifiers would fit within most people's budget if they are building a dedicated theater room of this scale.
Wow!! What a room. I’m SO impressed with the amount of work that the owner did. From the photos, I assumed it was pretty much a pro install. Amazing to see and hear how much of it he planned and carried out himself. Also, excellent video, by the way. Really nicely put together and enjoyable throughout. :-)
Amazing tour, amazing system. I must admit that I was surprised when he said that something wasn't in the budget, lol. I'm pretty sure a lot of us are second guessing our career choices. Good on him for achieving the level of success to be able to put together such an incredible home. I used to have a magnet that said "He who dies with the most toys, wins." I think he wins. Great vid as always, thanks for taking us with you!
Wooooww,,, This is Epic of Home Theater room. Hat's off to Mick he has build his entire house with so much of love & precision, he has taken care of each & everything so nicely & neatly. Thanks for sharing this video of Mick's Home & Home Theater. Out of words...👍🏼👌🏼👏🏼
Beautiful home, incredible home theater setup. Thanks for sharing! I'm drooling over here, watching this neatly built theater setup. Man, I wish I could experience that beautifully crafted home cinema setup. This guy is so chill and humble. That's the kind of person I'd love to be friends with. You could never tell he's that wealthy by just chatting with him. Love it. Though I would never spend that much money on something like this, I do respect the fact that some people will not hold back to realize their dreams. Looks like his wife helped him quite a bit too! My wife and I bough a home a few years ago (15 year loan, paid for in less than 4 years - we love living completely debt free, and aim to have no less than a year's worth of expenses in our savings. Thank you Lord!). The home happened to come with a 120" projector screen installed in one of the (fully finished) basement walls. So I simply bought a 300 dollar 1080p 60Hz projector at Amazon, a Logitech 5.1 Dolby THX set of speakers for another 300 bucks, plus three 100 dollar black leather recliner seats (we're a family of three). I run a 20 dollar Chromecast with Google TV via HDMI and it works great. The Sub on that Logitech system is phenomenal. I could have spent way more, sure, but we hardly ever use our home theater. I have spend significantly more on our living room TV setup, which is our main entertainment center. A 65" 120Hz 4K TV, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and my gaming PC sporting an RTX 4090. Sound system is a 5.1 Dolby Digital Plus system HDMI ARC. It's all entry level and low budget but I absolutely love what we've got and make good use of it. ♥️
I keep coming back to this like a moth to a flame. Great theater, great homeowner, great questions, great video, and great editing. This is what I want my room to look like when I build my own home!
Wow, I loved the home theater. Phenomenal result and I like how well thought out the plan was by the owner. I think the same way when I’m developing projects. This is one of my favorites videos from your home theater play list
This guy did a great job. I know it cost a bunch, but he could have easily spent many times more. Also, the OCD in me loves the wiring job and the way his entire place is organized.
That was the only thing where I could see a little thing to improve. In the bedroom where the wires go straight through the cabinet into a switch, you could tidy that up a little by installing a patch panel, but that is really the only place where I could find something that was not done excellent and to the max. Great inspiration.
Agree with other comments and you mentioned it in the video: I don't think I've seen another theater, this high end, with such a humble and involved owner. I was sold when I heard him say he made the movie posters himself! DIY speakers, putting their own screen together, wiring...on and on. It breaks my heart to see high end rooms with disconnected owners. Certainly not the case here!
@In London the place is full of multi-million custom installs from very wealthy "sand-people" who just throw money at it, but don't have the first clue how to do anything themselves or even what equipment they have. This is a million times better because it was all DIY and he knows everything inside-out!
Definitely love how much attention he paid to acoustic treatment. In my own limited experience, treating the room is worth more than spending more on speakers or audio gear. If the room sounds bad, no amount of money on speakers can fix it. You have to start with the acoustics of the room first, and then move on to audio gear!
This is DIY on a professional level. Intelligence, Passion, Detailed, Cleanliness, and Thought out. A vision that was planned out and fulfilled… The best home theater from a DIY builder… Period..!!!! Thanks for sharing… I appreciate you…

How did the vortex 12s sound for surrounds and heights . I have mine plus the 15s for atmos just need the time now . The theater is quite spectacular love how big it is and awesome size screen
@@hometheateraddict9583 I was thinking the same. I have the Titan 818 and wanted to do the Vortex as well for surrounds. I see the boxes are smaller than spec and was wondering the dimensions.
Wow, almost have no words for this home theater, doing it yourself has so much more satisfaction than having a professional do the installation (of course nothing wrong with that), but wow, I'm just blown away by the size, the meticulous wiring, the presentation, and of course the wow factor of it being a DIY home theater, um . . . . just blown away!!! 😲👍👏🙌💪
This by far is one of the best home theaters I've seen on your channel!! That projector is most likely the cost of a Scat Pack challenger 😎🤣 I really love how you had before and after pictures and video of the homeowners room transformation! It's was a treat to see all the effort that was put in! Not to mention details of how this was done! 👏👏👏👏
you can see why this guy is sucssful, other then the fact he obviosly comes from an established family which must help he is very clean in design, very nice, very polite and friendly, never cuts the host, and very smart about how he builds things he must be a really good engeneer
Damn his projector is 60k usd 😄 just crazy, I really like how he went all out, the room behind the rack is superclean and a lot of DIY. It actually surprised me a bit he used diy speakers, seeing what he spent, it must be because they perform great, can't imagine he wanted to save some money on this endgame setup, as I would expect JTR speakers. Clearly he follows the avsforum 😄👍
@@frostman9661 Well that boat prob cost him a million, so im sure he can afford a measly 60k for a projector. I won't even spend 12k for a projector myself
@@robertschuster312 oh no for sure, that guy is fricken loaded. His whole home theater probably cost him $300k all in. My dream budget would be closer to $50k haha
Thanks again. Impressive home theater, super clean! Wow the wire hyper clean installation. Everything super integrated. All the work his part of creating his dream. Wife helping. That he learn from his dad, a lot from the internet. Great that he allowed a visit. What a garage! Even if I don't drive. Nice to see they have other hobbies. Like that home theater you had visit in Chicago their living room with all those LP/ music. Back to this visit, his boat. Elevator for car storage. All of this house built in one year. OMG my whole appartement almost fit in his home theater. Also he has his budget limitations. Building his speaker. Thanks
This was a great tour, such an awesome theater! I will say I thought for 99% of the video that this guy hated color... everything he has is either white, gray, dark gray, or black... Then we turn the corner and BAMMM!!! a neon colored boat slapped me in the face! I wish I had all of his skills, he's a jack of all trades for sure.
ha, the thing I noticed beside the boat was the GREEN wheelie bin.... i can't understand how he let that monstrosity into his creation ! At least paint it white!
How. Just wow 😮. I am gob smacked. Theeee best set up I’ve ever seen hands down. Just incredible. Would love to hear what sounds like. Be pretty boomy in there 👍. Great video 👍
Wow, wow, wow... Incredible spaces and incredible attention to detail. I will be borrowing a few of his ideas for future upgrades to my setup. Thank you Youthman for another outstanding video!
This video has gave me goosebumps I can't put into words how this made me feel he is a man after my own heart I wish I was his friend and live next door cool hats off to you I got nothing but respect for this guy
Holy Rusted Metal Batman!!! What a beautiful home theater. Honestly, truly blown away! Gorgeous design, the cable management is epicness, the huge screen, and the speakers too. Michael, I envy you lol. One day man.. One day I will have something like this.
Wow that’s a home theater we all would love to have. Very empresses and the amount of time he put into the design and the amount of work he put in the whole house audio wiring , I know how much work and planning that it takes to get it done because I wired my home during the building of our home and I am not even close to that and I had 2 days to start and finish. That was over 20yrs ago. So I am a big fan of diy. Michael you are finding some outstanding home theater’s keep up the great work and thanks for sharing.
Loved this video! I really appreciate how Mike strategically thought through the vision and details! I’ve taken a lot of great notes that I will consider for my home theater new construction… great piece!
Spotted what I assume is the wife throughout the video helping. That's awesome to see, because it helps with the emotional buy in on a project. Here's to many years enjoying this labor of love.
I love your new format and interviewing style. His home theater is one of the best I have seen. The detail in the wiring and lay out is top notch. Did you get the manufacture or name of his theater door?
Beautiful theatre. I'm impressed with his hands on approach and build. My smaller scale theatre has just started and I will "borrow" as many ideas as I can to create a smaller version of his masterpiece.
Wow... So much about Mike's theater (and home!) I love!! Incredible ground up build. I obviously love the DIY Sound Group speakers throughout, and all of the surrounds are matching! That's the way to do it! And he did it right with the 24s! Charles built some HUUUUGE ported boxes lol. I thought mine were big... Just an incredibly thought out theater and home. There's no way my garage could ever be that clean 😂 Love it Mike... Thanks Michael for the awesome tour! Great camera work and really loved the flow/journey of the build
I think this is the best way to go about doing a home theater. It is not solely about forking out endless cash, and it shows how giving proper thought and taking your time pays off. Many comments here are about the retail projector price, but Mike specifically said that he managed to get a decent deal, so although this is a higher budget theater, it is not one of unlimited budget and there are other home theaters that cost much more but can't compare to this one.
One thing that is overlooked often is, if rooms are designed and built properly - you don’t have to have “end game” equipment fitted, for it to sound amazing. This room would sound better than many retro-fitted, inferior built rooms with a Trinnov and high end bought speakers. Amazing theatre and house- great choice of colours, materials and engineering. Gorgeous
Badass man!! Good call on including the garage. This may be a home theater channel but we all know if your into home theater your likely into cool shit in general... Outstanding!!
Very impressive attention to detail and focus on value for money! Pro integrator couldn't touch this level of install without 10x multiple in cost...drool worthy rack install!
Yes, it's an expensive projector but he didn't spend anywhere near that. But when you have a 206" image, you simply cannot use your standard Epson or JVC projector. They simply are not bright enough at that size.
Apart from being an engineer, he also comes from a VERY wealthy family. I think it's important to point that out. There's an entire layer of stress missing when you're not from a poverty stricken minority, single parent home with zero financial life rafts to rescue you if things go bad. So he's able to take more risks, which is massive.
That is what you call a home cinema, not theater. 😂 btw Control4 updates can be done remotely so the dealer/ programmer doesn’t always have to physically be on site.
That was so damn educational! If you strive to be an architect one day, this is a show to watch. I love how people make their visions come true. They are like teachers for me. Really inspirational! Thank you, Youthman! And A big thank you to Mike and to all the awesome people who allows all of us to look at your home!
What an incredible build, home and seemingly humble man. A LOT of hard work and ambition is required to get to this level of wealth, and despite what some commenters here say, you can tell someone has worked hard to earn their toys when they look after them so impeccably. Bravo sir and thank you to this channel for reviewing this wonderfull achievement.
I think it is pretty clear that Mike is a genius. He has done technical work in several areas that take a lot of brainpower. Obviously he is very successful and seems like a real nice guy.
Your cinematours are getting better and better. They were awesome from the start, but you are bringing it on new levels all the time. Please do continue :) this is what keeps me going when work gets really tough, gets my brain to think of other things. AWESOME
I install and design high end Home Cinema's, this one is a favourite of mine, The detail is incredible, the thought proccess is another league, Well done, an incredible job! 👍🙏👍

Just watching this for the first time and I loved it. Thank you for posting. Unfortunately, We are not as fortunate to have anything near this setup, but did do a cheap setup from Walmart. Got a 65" LG paired with 2 soundbars because they were on sale for $100/each. It's just in our 13x13 living room and works great. It's what we can afford and enjoy instead of being cash poor and electronics rich.
Love seeing your theater Micheal. I will never forget the day we learned about that finish dissolving the stain. Google must have heard me telling someone about it yesterday and that's why it served this video up...
