.I take you on a walk around my plot to show you how everything is doing.
I started my allotment in February 2016 and it was mostly weeds and grass. I make daily videos of my progress and I aim to grow as much of my own organic fruit, vegetables and cut flowers as I can so I can be as self sufficient as possible.
I also grow organic fruit and vegetables in my kitchen garden at home and keep jumbo coturnix quail for organic fresh eggs.
So check back tomorrow for the next update.
Thank you for watching
Angela

Angela, you have really created an oasis of a garden. when you showed your plot at the end I thought of your beginning and how much you have transformed it.! I really am shocked that you have raspberries already. I was not expecting that. maybe it's the variety you have? the ones I have are ready in July and there's only a short time frame for them and if I don't get to them before the birds do I'm out of luck lol. I didn't know shrews would move their babies so I'm glad to know that :-) I hope you enjoyed your holiday and thanks for sharing this.👍

Ah thank you P.C. I have two varieties of Raspberries a Summer fruiting called Malling Admiral and an Autumn fruiting called Autumn Bliss. I think being down south things tend to fruit a little earlier as its quite mild. I am really pleased about the Shrew too and after one of my friends at the plot said the mum moves them when the nest is disturbed I checked online and it said the same so hopefully they are all alright.

Looking great Angela, I cant wait to see the cut flowers in bloom. Were the gladiolas new corms this year or were they saved from last year?
@AngelasKitchenGarden
@AngelasKitchenGarden 7 лет назад
Thank you William me too. Yes these were new corns this year but I will mulch them in Autumn and leave the corns in the ground to overwinter because we tend to have quite mild winters here.

everything looks great and your cut flowers should be amazing! is it almost time for your quail to be hatching? thanks for sharing. :-) Gabby

@AngelasKitchenGarden 7 лет назад
Thank you Gabby. It is almost time. I think they should start hatching on Thursday so I should be able to put up a video on Friday. I candled the eggs and they all look like they are doing well so hopefully I get a good hatch rate from them.

Amazing update! Congrats on not getting black fly, did you do anything to prevent or was it just luck of the draw? 🙂

Thank you green fingerers. I was hit by a few black fly yesterday unfortunately so I have now pinched out the tops of all the plants.
