As the redditor who came up with these, I'm just now finding out from the comment section that it's supposed to be just gibberish but... honestly I struggle to believe that? So much lines up so well as actual words that if it's really gibberish, the coincidence is incredible. The thought makes me a little sad given all the time I spent trying to figure it out, but it would also be kind of amazing? I'm mostly still just kinda disappointed tbh lmao

I love the fact that the music about the Dark Lord is not about terror or fear but instead it's a song of hope.

The changed Lyrics for Oh Higher gave me frickin chills!

It's wild when you think about it, zodiark was the ancients hope made manifest, Zodiark singlehandedly dropped the endsingers nonsense.

So I j heard how Hydaelyn uses the umbral elements (water, ice, and earth) which means Zodiark uses astral elements. We see fire and lightning used( but folks were wondering where was the wind. I just realized that green is the color of wind (aero for example). The three beams are green which means those are wind-aspected aether. So ya, they really thought out these encounters. Man I love Endwalker so much.

Before EW I was under the impression that Zodiark was going to be our big bad. Fighting him at this point in the game while on discord with my friends made us all go silent and say “…if he isn’t the problem then who is?” And I loved that. And I feel like I’m not the only one who probably felt the dread of who is actually the one we need to stop?

Everything about this fight was perfect. It felt epic, as Zodiark should be. Zodiark's design looked amazing, the circles and missing bits for the 6 unrejoined shards was an amazing touch. The dread at "THIS IS ONLY THE FIRST TRIAL". Perfect in its ending of one arc, and setting up how much things would escalate.

I love how the themes for Hades & Zodiark the chorus takes the side of the Ascians & the Ancients, crying out their hopes and fears for protection and succor from their heroes and god- Who we have to slay for our own sakes, our own world that rose from the ashes of theirs.

*On wings of faith, you rise up through the night* *Our Lord, Zodiark* *Carry on our home* *All we knew, our perfect world* *Let the chorus of hope take all!* I love the juxtaposition between Hydaelyn's lyrics and Zodiark's lyrics. They're one and the same, the light and the darkness, using the same song with different words and meanings. Absolutely beautiful and menacing at the same time. Fuck, I love this game so much

I missed the "the great cataclysm, faithfuly recreated!" / "from broken skies fall tears of flame" in the beginning, but this is awesome!

I love the name of this song. "Endcaller". The lyrics may be for Zodiark, but the song itself belongs to Fandaniel. For HE is the Endcaller. The one who will bring about the end of all by the power of the Warrior of Light, who in striking him down will bring The End to Etheirys. As the song to end all creation is called forth by Zodiark's death, the Final Days come upon us...

For all we know the actual lyrics could just be gibberish (Reto Kazene said Soken said so), but this is what Ringahda was able to come up with that sounds similar to English words. Do you have ideas on the lyrics? I'm interested to know so comment them down below!

The truly wild part about this is that apparently the choral part is computer generated and it's a mix of coincidence and the human ability to see patterns even when they're not there that it feels so 'right'.

Wow, these lyrics really strike at a more desperate and relatable side of the Zodiark worshipping Ascians.

I am still just in awe that ZODIARK, the thing that we'd been building up to since 1.0 was defeated at the end of Act 1 of the expansion. That takes some fucking giant titanium balls to try and explain why something that we had never even had a clue about (Metion/Endsinger) was the real mastermind behind all the bad shit, and the motherfuckers pulled it off spectacularly.

No one is going to believe this, but after binging on this channel a day or so ago; was wondering when Zodiark's would pop up. This is awesome.

I still remember getting to this trial and going "What? They're having us fight Zodiark NOW? At level 83? What the frick are they going to have us DO for the rest of the expansion?" Also "This is either a horrible mistake on the devs' part, or it's going to be one Hell of a plot twist." Well, now I know which. XD

this track immediately gave me ff15 vibes of the leviathan fight the vocals the instrumentals all are heavy forboding and push a sense of impending danger or doom and an urgency to act to fight or die i love it ff14 has absolutely the best soundtrack in gaming bar none

I honestly thought the lyrics being sung was Latin, save Zodiark. Was NOT expecting it to be English lyrics. When I first got to this, my jaw dropped. "We're actually fighting him NOW, THIS EARLY?!" were my thoughts at the time, and it subverted my expectations, and prepared me for the unexpected.

I’m currently going my first play through of Endwalker and got to this part a couple of things went through my mind Why is Zodiark the first trial of Endwalker? Why is this music going so hard? OH GOD WTF AM I GONNA FACE AND THE END?

1:55 I love this section so much. The original chants take a backseat and the music continues to become louder and more powerful. And when the "On wings of faith" part begins and the music just explodes, i get chills everytime. How is this game's music even real?

I like how there are those six magical circles on Zodiark for the six worlds that haven't been rejoined. You can see them pretty well at 2:45.

FOR THE INNER VOICE OF THE DARK ONE!

This is the first bit of music/first moment i ever saw of FFXIV after entering someones stream just before the music kicked and so when i started playing, i was waiting for this moment. Took longer than i expected of course but it made it all the more satisfying when the music dropped.

I remember back when this was still new stuff, and it was fantastic! After so many years hearing about Zodiark, this was perfect, right from Fandaniel onward. The battle theme was exhilarating and heroic, perfect tone for the Scions confronting their (they think) enemy number one.

God, I love FFXIV: Extreme Depression, it goes so well with my existing major depressive disorder. Joke aside... God I fucking love this game, it makes me feel a genuine sadness AND happiness more than anything else. The writing in this game is beyond stellar.

They nailed the feel of this trial. I did the story for the first time with a friend, and we both had the exact same reaction to freakin’ ZODIARK showing up as early as level 83. “What the hell?! It’s way too soon for this! We are NOT ready!” And then, in you go…

Just finished the 1st half of Endwalker, and i must say I was completely shocked that i faced Zodiark halfway into the expansion, I was like "Shouldn't this be a final boss?!"

Tbh I like these lyrics better than the official ones. These make more sense to me. And leads me to believe that the original intent was for the lyrics to be gibberish. Because the official lyrics just seem like random words thrown together.

I just love these raids songs and it makes a far greater impact in my game experience than I could tell. Even today I see myself chanting some of the SB raid bosses... but honestly, I couldnt understand the lyric at all untill I read it lol

When I was in high school I used to be capable of doing quadratic equations in my head but could just never do geometry so imagine my fun reaction to the arena spinning lol I’m an adult now and doing this fight felt like an absolutely epic geometry quiz 😂 I was the healer too so I wasn’t popular with my group 🤣 when you’re in the moment and absorbed into keeping people alive it can get really difficult to focus on what the arena is doing. To this day I don’t understand the damn constellation mechanic. I absolutely dread the day I get this trial in roulette

When Zodiark was the level 83 fight and not the final boss, I knew we were in for some story. And man, what a story we got.

The more you know about zodiark, the more you realize why this theme is so epic, this is a fight between heroes.

When I was expecting to fight this dude, I was expecting either some kind of orchestral music or something catchy. I did not expect it to sound like the Ancients were singing this as some kind of church choir along with the music.

You know, the lyrics to these songs are so painstakingly deliberate that it's almost weird to add fan lyrics to them

I don't think the song actually has "lyrics." A lot of composers like to just take latin phonemes and make it sound like there's lyrics being sung - usually only for chorale compositions like this. Elden Ring and Bloodborne do that a lot, with Bloodborne actually having quite a few songs with real latin words, but otherwise the lyrics are just nonsense because it sounds really, really fricken cool, and it's cheaper to compose. Can't say for sure if that's what this is, but if they never release official lyrics, that's my guess.
