Perhaps you could add Wayland to this new Plasma EndeavourOS VM and explore it further. What packages do you add for Wayland and XWayland, and how well does it work now? I believe the Plasma team has been doing a lot of Wayland bugfixes in the last few releases. So far I'm impressed by Gnome 40 Wayland and touchscreen/touchpad gestures on Fedora 34.

Glad you brought this up - based on testing with actual hardware Endeavour does not seem to enable the KDE Wayland option by default. I believe that is a wise choice - Wayland works much more reliably with Gnome/Sway than Plasma in my experience. Of course ymmv. :). Thanks for sharing!

It’s nice of them to do the mirror list right away. I just figured to do that on manjaro, speeds up installs that much... don’t know why manjaro didn’t seem to care.

I haven't been able to install EndeavourOS as a VMWare VM. Calamares just hangs while installing

Interesting - what version of VMWare? I'm using QEMU/KVM here for maximum performance and compatibility. :)

It does that on bare metal, the progress bar isn't actuate I think they've added a slide stating it. Just try leaving it for a while.

Why don’t use archlinux directly? Are they having a huge difference?

Many install using the Arch Way. EndeavourOS seeks to make Arch more accessible to a wider audience and encourage experimentation, which some say is the Linux Way. :). Thanks for watching!

EOS comes with a plethora of various DEs and WMs and the nifty Calamares installer and a small amount of tweak tools. But from all the Arch-y OSes it's the closest to vanilla Arch. Good system for people who are too clever for Manjaro but don't have the time/patience to deal with vanilla Arch.
