Jup, and that's exactly what I wanted. So I'm very happy. Systemd-boot is exactly what I wanted, and works much better for my use case than the horrible to configure grub. I switched to a unified kernel image with secureboot on my laptop. Also I think grub doesn't support luks2, which was required for decrypting my boot partition with a fido2 key...or something like that. It's been a while. Also does nicely setup BTRFS + encryption with its installer. Separate system and data subvolumes and all. Figuring out all that on my own would've been painful.
Arch is the best Arch. :) Arco stopped my distro hopping, so I have a soft spot there. EndeavourOS is third on my list. Mileage varies and scenery changes. :)
For some stupid reasons, ARCH keep failing to install proprietary drivers for my Nvidia gpu. Manjaro is the closest one to install the proprietary drivers. But, I hate that bloatware distro. To be honest, Nvidia opensource drivers sucks. PERIOD. Btw, great video.
Just installed it yesterday, I like it way more than popOS/kubuntu so far 😊 trying to ditch windows for the third time, except I'm much more motivated this time lol
oddly enough i had issue with this new release from the taskbar not wanting to remain on my main monitor and the graphics driver completely breaking after the pc went to sleep i really don't know why since i dont have these issue on vanilla arch or cachyos its really weird but yes its a good os but for now cachyos is the only one working for me.
I just hate that it does not have smb network discovery. I can get anywhere if I know the ip. But for a standard install it should be there and not just an empty folder
I agree that endeavourOS drew the line of what they support a little too early. They should make an option in installation for extended support for things like smb, printers...
I have a problem dual booting linux on my laptop I've tried every distro but brightness control doesnt work I can change value of brightness but no effects is happening ive tried every yt fix it just dont work whats should i do ? :/
@@study9003 I tried plasma with nobara and bazzite since bazzite distro have asus drivers for laptop and its still the same plus I updated my bios and my issue is not fixed
I started my Arch journey on EOS, then I installed vanilla Arch, messed with configs and shi, then my Nvidia gpu broke and I went for CachyOS. I'm now happily running Hyprland on my i5-10400F + RTX 3060 rig. Also Arch made me trans,,,
@@Maple-Circuit It just made me rethink my life choices (4 broken installs, I literary forgot the bootloader) and realize that I like being referred to as a woman.
@FierroSev EOS is literally just arch but with an installer and a welcome tab. Stability is literally the same. EOS tries to stay as close to vanilla Arch as they can while offering easier to install interface and helps install some helpers like YAY
EOS is easier when you wanna dual boot. Tho imo dual booting Arch is easy once you learn. I've used EOS for a bit, now on Arch, imo If you're willing to take the extra mile, vanilla Arch isn't too bad. In the end EOS is just Arch with an installer and some packages pre-installed
Good OS i end up on pop os with stock 550 nvidia and i put kde on top and its more stable than cachy garuda endavours or anything i tried in the last 2 month from arch fedora or ubuntu ... i hate pretty much everything about packaging management debian does but never had that much fps in any of the other distro and a fluid responsive desktop ! Sa sonne le quebecois cet accent la 😅
