@Doresoom Tool Reviews. Thanks for the comprehensive review and explanations of the process and printer. I'll have to have a 3D printer in my future. Hope you and your family stray safe and well.
Glad it was helpful! There are lots of reviews and guides out there from 3D printing experts, so I wanted to do more of an intro to 3D printing with this video. It's an awesome tool to have that opens up a ton of possibilities!
Thanks for one of the best reviews on this printer, I've been watching every thing on here as I will be buying mine 3/5/23 I really appreciated that you mentioned which filaments that it will work with as no one else did Having said that did II miss you tell what gage that it takes .
Thanks! One of my coworkers recommended it to me, and I'm really glad I bought it. An added bonus is that there are a ton of setup/fine tuning guides and troubleshooting videos for this model since it's so popular.
Also capricorn tubing is definitely worth it and makes cleaner prints. You want to replace the plastic extruder with a dual gear metal one then update your esteps. The plastic one will break on you in a few months. The stock PTFE fittings are also wobbly in and out and make stringing. The metal extruder should have better bowden tube fittings that don't wobble.
@@DoresoomReviews I just recently switched from dual gear direct drive back to bowden tube and found that I can get the same print quality with bowden as long as the entire bowden path has no play and is capricorn. You need a dual gear to do direct drive to avoid slipping but single gear metal should probably work ok with bowden. All the fast printers like the ratrig are not direct drive so that is a clue that it's not a requirement except maybe for TPU.
I'd think slinging around the mass of a direct drive would slow most printers down a ton. I don't have plans for TPU yet, so I'll definitely stick with the bowden tube for now.
Very cool. I think I'll be looking to buy a 3d printer in a few years when our son is old enough to appreciate it. They've come along way recently and I can only imagine how approachable they'll be in another 5 years.
