so what is the FIRST THING we should do next, other than find a spot for a new base?! 🐉

If you break your bed in the stronghold, and then jump into the End, leaving will send you back to world spawn. Great way to get back quickly!

i’ve been playing minecraft since the beginning, but not very religiously for some time. i’d never even beaten the ender dragon by myself before. 1.20 sparked my interest to get back into the game and start a new world, and i’ve been watching this guide series along with it. you inspired me to beat the ender dragon for the first time yesterday on my own in my world and have helped me get up to date with current minecraft features. i just wanna say thank you and i really enjoy this series and all your content, keep it up!!

You need to excavate that trail ruins by the starter base! That’s something I would love to see

I usually like to bring a couple stacks of bottles to the dragon fight as well. 1 stack is plenty, but more can't hurt if you have the inventory space. You can then use the bottles to get rid of any breath on the ground while getting the potion ingredient, dragon's breath. It helps if you get trapped in a spot by dragon breath, since the breath dissapears from the geound when picked up by a bottle. (You can also use the bottles on the dragon's head when it lands to easily farm the breath).

Wattles! I literally just a couple days ago worked up the courage to kill the ender dragon after playing Minecraft for years, and THEN this video comes out. I’m heartbroken. Devastated. I don’t think I can go on. But I’ll still watch the video. Also one hack I used was to dig a little hidey-hole into an obsidian pillar and take pot shots from a distance.

I feel like next you should raid end city’s so you have elytra and shucker boxes for big projects

A couple notes for viewers: The dragon can break any block that isn't natural to the End, so use obsidian or end stone if you want to build a dragon-proof structure. For instance, you can make a small roof two blocks up to act as a safe-spot from endermen in case you happen to look at one during the fight. They have decent reach, so make sure you can keep the endermen more than one block away from you. The dragon can fly freely through blocks whether or not she can break them. Sleeping in a bed in the End or the Nether is a bad idea and can easily kill you. Being lower than the exploding bed is a way to cause you less damage, so be sure to do it the same way wattles did. Even if you don't care about lingering potions, you can collect a pool of dragon's breath a few times to stop its damaging effect. When you defeat the dragon after respawning her, you will never get as much xp as you did the first time, nor will you get more dragon eggs.

You make it look so easy! I like that you used the beds for part of it. I say tackle trail ruins or go find some armor trim or sniffer eggs. Need more 1.20 stuff! Was wondering about the potion of invisibility and how that worked in the dragon fight. Also I heard “first” stronghold? Going to find more than one this season? Excellent episode as usual. the potion house is one of the best starter builds ever!! the blue just hits right, and the dome is so epic. the water weal helps tie the dome in with the round shape

Building a maxed out beacon would be a fun and long process to do next.

I think the next thing you should do is go back and loot all those shipwrecks. The loot goblin inside me goes crazy seeing people leave perfectly good loot just sitting there.

One of the Hermits (DocM, if I'm not mistaken) used a glitch to make hundreds of copies of the Dragon Egg! He then placed them everywhere in Mumbo, Grian and Scar's bases. It made for quite the mess!

If you have the patience, you can bring a diamond pick (preferably enchanted with Efficiency) and literally tunnel into and up to the top of the pillars where the crystals are. Aside from the stray hit you might take from the dragon's hitbox clipping through (1/2 a heart with full diamond lvl III protection) youre completely safe and you can shoot the crystals from a bow inside your hidey hole. Then when theyre all destroyed you just continue the fight like normal. I always overprepare for the ender dragon fight lol.

Perma base definitely should be in or near a large cherry forest biome. First project into the new base should be a blaze farm

How does invisibility help with the dragon fight? I've never heard of that but I'm assuming it does something with Enderman like the pumpkin

I forgot about this series i got to episode 2 then got impatient bc was like a week late but now i can binge it

I always bring 1 stack of glass bottles to collect dragon breath, I also intentionally drag on the battle longer to fill all my bottles. In addition to my power V bow, I carry a multishot cross bow, because it is easier to hit the dragon when she is flying high, multishot shoots 3 arrows, I have a better chance to hit the target with 3 arrows. I noticed that when all 3 arrows hit, the dragon took 3x the damage.

I think wherever you do build you next base, if it’s near water you should make a Viking ship! I’m not sure what you might use it for though. (Maybe a villager trading hall or a sheep wool farm or something) Please reply if anybody has a good idea on what to use it for

I'd recommend getting a riptide trident next. As long as you have some small water puddles around your base, it lets you travel around it really easily. It gets even better with the elytra since you can use the trident to get a boost to start flying without using rockets or use it in the rain to go insanely fast

After watching your video, I just defeated the dragon for the first time ever! A strategy that worked well for me after the dragon destroyed most of my beds is setting up an endermen proof spot on one of the pillars and shooting the dragon with an infinity bow whenever it tries to land

HEY WATTLES. I know I’m late. I just got back into Minecraft since 2010. Watched your 1.18 guide and moved this this 1.20 you should do all the boss fights in order they were released throughout the series with a 25-50 episode increments!!!

I think a boatyard or a dock for some boats since its next to a river it would make the most sense and a bridge for the nether portal but boats can go under it

I always wondered why people move their base without a lodestone. Unless you have a lot of maps it can be easy to get lost

Since you are right at spawn, building an iron farm would be a smart choice before finding a new home. It would be in the spawn chunks so it will stay loaded in and constantly be churning out iron.

You should also have brought an ender chest and placed it in the end (preferably under ground) for any surplus equipment/supplies that you don't need to have in your inventory at all time. And you forgot to bring empty glass bottles, to harvest some dragons breath before killing it.

Nobody ever mentions the carved pumpkin trick. It is easier to navigate if you look up to see out of the mouth hole. It is mostly useful before you have elytra in The End. They also make the easiest to obtain underwater light source. Iron Golems make great decoys when raiding Ancient Cities and End Cities.

Attention bedrock players on realms and servers! In 1.19.70 mojang secretly added permanently loaded chunks at the main End island. Just like Java's spawn chunks in the overworld, time is always running in these new loaded chunks. If you die you will have 5 minutes to get your stuff back because they will despawn if you take too long to get back

Nether hub and wither skelly farm, blaze farm, and gold farm for the ultimate nether.

One easy way to take out the crystals is to climb up on the tallest tower and take them all out from there. You can see everything and get a clearer shot

Hi Wattles. Can the egg despawn if you can't find it? I knocked it off the pillar, it fell into the portal below and I can't find it.

Hunt some trims for filler episodes, locate some more structures, raid a few bastions. Might find a nice perma base site in the process.

that was the first time I fought the Dragon I never get this far in a world and just want to say this is awesome love the guide first guide I ever done and first time keeping a world in a very long time i usally build then just beat the game and that was the first time for me with the dragon did not die was on hard and not going to lie first time was intense

you must make a very large shrine for your dragon egg next episode.

You can get under the dragon if you approach from behind the wings. Just don't touch the wings. You're also safe if you stand all the way against the center bedrock post. Then you can whack the dragon from below when they're perched.

Can you use the tnt/piston trick to destroy the bedrock around the gateway portal without disrupting the portal itself?

You should put a slab at the bottom of where you drop in to your enchanting room so you don’t half to jump out of the hole

I think your next goal should be getting an elytra then finding a new location for a base will become very very easy.

Next project. Create a village with at least two of every villager biome type, including Jungle and Swamp. For extra challenge make it so that you can't breed the villagers (Jungle and Swamp excluded); but that you have to take the villagers from a preexisting village.

Is there a particular reason you never use a shield?

So if you respawn the dragon and kill him you do not get another egg? Also with the dragons breath what does it do pretty sure you use it in the brewing stand correct

clear a woodland mansion, make it into a villager breeder/trading hall and main base.

I want to beat the dragon before i watch this... and then come back and watch it to see what i couldve or shouldve done to do the fight better and/or easier. Last night i learned theres an endless army of endermans everywhere and there are big pillars with something on the top... and i died many times. When i get home from work later, i got a few ideas i want to try to make the fight easier. Once i beat it, going to come back to my "watch later" so i can facepalm at myself. 😅
