‘Lily, we have enough room to just jump over the shockwave, we don’t have t-‘ ‘’Nah I’m gonna dash into it.’ ‘Lily please, it’s needlessly dangerous, we can ju-‘ ‘Nah man i’m dashing into it, let’s go.’
also, i just noticed how on the 31:03, the blighted lord's energy kinda goes off, and then you can see it shedding tears. i'll definitely have to replay this game since there was a bunch of the story that makes more sense now
After beating the final boss, you can actually get an item that swaps Lily's character skin to her "Uncorrupted" version which she started the game with. The change is really noticeable when you swap the skins about.
I keep seeing people try to talk about the boss fights and put down the fighting mechanics in comparison to other games that have come out, when the direction they took was on purpose. It had an EA, people knew and gave info on what game was to be expected. This was not meant to be something genre defining like Hollow Knight or Blasphemous. They put their cards on the artstyle and the music and this new world. Is the game flawless? No, of course not. Nothing is, but for 25 dollars and for me personally, i got my monies worth and fell in love. Im sure if they wanted to go more intricate they easily could in future updates or other titles. TLDR; Game is not meant to be hard, but that's not a bad thing. Nothing is exempt from flaws, was worth the small amount of money but people can easily wait for sale, it's a good experience with some good potential storytelling.
@@Doomroar Hence why also followed with "And for me personally". Enjoyment of something is subjective and I felt it was worth it. If you or others don't thats fine.
@@f.p.2010 i cant agree with you more. Blasphemous bosses didnt felt like enjoyable, in metroidvania genre, i only had such enjoyment fighting with a boss in Hollow Knight, and only DLC bosses. In this game since Silvia is so fun to die and try again, maybe with another relic or souls. Isnt a 10/10 but i wont ask for a 10/10, i only need good mechanics and fun boss fights and in both Elder lilies was a BLAST
I was struggling with Hoenir and then Gellot pop Ender lilies no damage vid and said "Wait till i end it, then ill watch". Wondered how will be Gellot approach against final boss and Hoenir, tried Julius attack but wasnt leveled enough, and i forget the Claw soul, hahaha. With Hoenir i ended up doing the same at last phase: RUN. Hoenir, Ulv and final boss was the most fun to play. Great game, didnt have such a great time fighting bosses till Hollow Knight
I think that is pretty universally agreed on with maybe a honorable mention to Miriel if you mostly melee the fight like I did instead of all range attacking like this video.
ulv and the final boss probaly are the hardest to me ulv taked way more time than julius that i beat like 6 trys comparing to 10+ trys in ulv ( i did him on mid game so yeah i was asking to get beaten anyways )
Damn. I feel like a freakin' loser If I see this. I struggeld so hard in every Bossfight. But I love this game. Thank you for this great video. This really helped me. (:
Mini-boss - Castle Town Maiden - a Blighted Dog born from fusion of injured loyal dog and town maiden who saved its life - also doesn't attack you. AT ALL. It just sits there and when you finish it off - Says "Thank you".
Ulv was the boss that gave me the most trouble. Freaking spider monkey wouldn't stay still and he was so fast. Probably have the most deaths against him yet I never was annoyed by that fight.
Thats the point: we have famous themes like mortal kombat, to make it dramatic and what do we get here? Something that can be used as a lullaby. The games only fail.
Thanks for trying this out! I'm not sure if you were already planning on playing, but I appreciate that you did a recording for a game that I requested. :)
I am here literally because of *that project* and the fact that I really appreciate the people with some actual so-called "gaming skill/ability". It is good to see that there are personas invested in improving themselves just like you, doesn't it? Stay safe and have a good day!
Im curious- better than which ones? Because its clearly not as good as Blasphemous or Hollow knight or S&S, which are best 2D soulslike on market. And is it better than Vigil or Death gambit or Momodora or Dark devotion (another pretty good games)- thats debatable and depends on taste. For me this game is just too insipid and i dont like graphics and atmosphere. Weak uninspired bosses dont help either.
@@ReadyAimFire_ Whether or not HK is truly a souls-like is debatable, but that doesn't matter much for my point. Where this game really shines in my experience is exploration. The world is designed in a way, that when you have two paths to choose, at the end of one path you'll find an ability that'll open up another path for you, so you constantly have that choice of where you want to explore, not to mention the perfectly captured natural benefit of a metroidvania world -- you really feel like you're exploring an isolated, unknown to you area that waits for you to uncover its secrets. Speaking of secrets, the game has quite a bit of cleverly hidden treasures, and finding the true ending for yourself is quite a feat. You can finish this game in 5 hours and not even fight the fake final boss, but getting to the true final boss will probably take you 20 hours without a guide. The combat in Ender Lilies is fine when it comes to regular enemies, only the bosses are pretty poorly designed. Blasphemous is rescued by its fantastic unique atmosphere and vibe, but the level design, combat and especially platforming sections felt clunky. Hollow Knight is not without its issues -- but it's my favourite metroidvania out there. I've heard that Vigil got an update at some point, but from my experience that'd happened shortly after its release, it was... okay. The combat is quite similar to Ender Lilies, but the bosses are better designed and enemy encounters are worse, because you don't have as many options as you do in Lilies. Vigil doesn't have nearly as clever design as Lilies though. Death's Gambit lacks content, and even the content that's there is pretty bad. It feels like the devs didn't know what their game was about, there's a useless fast travel option, there's an underdeveloped upgrade system, there are weapon categories, but most of these categories contain only one weapon, there are more boss fights than there are enemy types, overall it feels rushed and unfinished. Momodora is very short and the boss fights are even more uninteresting than the ones in this game to me. Though seemingly most people don't agree... Dark Devotion is just bad. The level design is a linear path filled with cheap one-hit kills and the bosses are a chore to go through.
I just started this game and it's awesome. It has one on the best map designs. I always like to 100% these games and I can't stand when I'm missing something and have no clue where it is. I do like how metroid shows you exactly where stuff is but at least this game lets you know which areas are cleared and which area still has stuff to be found. I wish I had your patience. I always go in to boss fights mashing and going for the hit and I get killed a lot bc of it and then I get aggravated even though it's on me for playing like an idiot. That's why I haven't played many souls games yet besides the 2d indie style ones bc I get too antsy and want to attack and end up dead. I aggravate myself bc I enjoy watching them but haven't played them bc I know how I am. The souls games are my favorite to watch too.
I know I'm a year or so late but I started the game a few days ago. Before Julius, I've needed less than 10 attempts per boss. Thought I was almost done and decided to see how Gellot dealt with Julius. I was surprised when I saw Ulv was much later in the video because I beat him before beating Hoenir. Heck, I haven't even found Miriel yet.
I died the most with Ulv and Julius. I found the most easy boss is Miriel and The Final Boss. My playstyle relies on Gerrod's Hammer and parry High Leveled with occasional Elaine and Dark Executioner in low level. But with the Final Boss suddenly invest in long range, that is Elaine, Bird and Hoenir for complimenting my parry build it works really nice for me.
guess this goes to show just how different some people's experiences are... personally I found Ulv (2 deaths) and Julius (somehow no-death no-hit) to be some of the easiest bosses in the game, but my death count against Miriel ended up in the triple digits before I just stopped counting... I've had similar experiences with other games... dying over and over to bosses that everyone says is easy and then curbstomping ones that are considered difficult... I think my confidence might be inversely proportional to my skill...
Lol, for some reason I beat him 3rd try at low level, while struggling with Julius also under levelled I think I was close to 50 on Julius, and retry like 10 times or more
@@looots1320 Yeah, if you go underleveled, in 3rd phase with his laser attack he can get you with that attack or the animation after, is so annoying! I went first to Julius then Ulv, then to Ulv's fight i was already prepared, but still kick my ass a lot of times.
For those coming here looking for tips on beating bosses, apart from learning patterns, equipping the best gear etc, a last resort measure would be to download and run a slow down program like cpu killer to give yourself more reaction time to boss attacks
I feel like the title of this video is a little misleading: this is not all of the boses of the game, after all. All of the main bosses, perhaps (I'll have to double check if Miriel is considered a main boss or not), so I feel like that should've been specified. That said, good job on the hitless run!
Just got the platinum trophy for this game in under 24 hours. Unfortunately has a few simple issues that hopefully will get fixed in a potential sequel but overall a great game and one of the best Metroidvania games I’ve played, rivalling even hollow knight in some aspects.
Just finished, how people compare this to Souls is.. .crazy. Amazing, amazing game. Not nearly as hard as I was expecting though, didn't die but twice playing melee and was all the beginning. Love the soundtrack.
You kinda dissapointed for the boss fight, i understand tho, for someone pro no damage like you :v but imo Ender Lilies doesnt focus on the difficulity, its focus on the Story and a slight graphic or music i guess, Hat In Time Seal the Deal boss is harder :v
A metroidvania style game with hollow knight elements and a mechanism which involves a manifested spirit, but in short... . . . . . . . . . . . . It's a f*cking Stand....
Well, I think Julius and Ulv are fun, Sliva and Siegrid are decent. The rest are either bad or a straight up joke, especially Miriel. Who in the right mind thinks that fighting a puking monster is a good idea. At least the art style, the control and Mili carried the whole game.
I''m struggling with Silva & figured I'd watch a video for strats, did not know her 2nd form would heal all of her health. D: It looks like I'll have to switch out Umbral Knight for the Witch, I was fighting her close ranged.
