Something I found interesting was the different views on the Deathless Pact, and the different results between the nations. Both the Land of Fumes and Land's End have a level of obsession with the ritual, but they were obsessed with different parts of it. In Land's End the focus was on the immortality granted to the Umbral Knights through the pact. But, in the Land of Fumes, the Chief Attuner's Notes focuses on the servant role of the Umbral Knights. A difference of perspective on the same ritual leading to differing results in copying it (The Deathless Elixir vs the Homunculi).
Yolvan's description after we get him says that his wings are the work of a animal fusion researcher from another land. I found that interesting considering that the only place we've seen animal fusion is Land's End in Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights. I thought you would find connection and make a speculation that this researcher might be a refugee from Land's End and that we are now in some other land, which means blight exists in other parts of the continent. Edit: Nevermind, you mentioned it!
Yeah, I believe there was a lore note of 6 other lands that is speculated to be also be infected by the blight. I think it was inside the castle or near the cliff.
Thanks so much for this, was so confused about how to connect these two games together. Your videos for the ender series are completely understandable and interesting to watch.
I played the demo and enjoyed it but I still worry about the game. I was never a metroidvania guy. But Ender Lilies got me into the genre and managed to break into my top 10 games despite me being a shooter / arpg type of guy. The game caught my allure in a multitude of ways. The atmosphere, world design, protagonist, her spirits, I loved absolutely everything. I loved it enough to 100% the game twice on different platforms which I have never done before. As well as an NG+ playthrough. So admittedly, leaving the dark medieval fantasy aesthetic, having a time skip, changing the protagonist... it really just rubbed me the wrong way. I still want it to be good and I like some of the gameplay changes. But I stayed with the first game for stuff that is just straight-up gone. And that is just really disappointing to me.
Ive seen all your videos of ender lilies, i really want to play the game first before watch this one, do you recommend to buy the early access or wait to full release?
It really just comes down to personal preference! Most of the time, I don't play games in early access, because I like experiencing the full release fresh. However, the early access model for Ender Magnolia (at least so far) is a bit different than most games; it's really more of a "demo," as only the first couple of areas are available, and the developers are using feedback on this small slice to guide development on the rest of the game. If you have any interest in trying out the early access version, then I would definitely recommend it, but otherwise I don't think you can go wrong waiting for the full release 😊
If you want the game I'd recommend buying it while it's in early access regardless of if you want to wait until the full release to play or not, as the price will increase upon the official release. So if you're going to play Ender Lilies wait until you play it, and if you like the game and are certain you'll play Ender Magnolia buy it and then decide if you want to play the early access or wait until the full release to play.
Thanks for the breakdown, absolutely love this. I actually thought that the name Nola engraved on her arm was from her owner from the Milius, but considering how wretched the family is, it is very unlikely. Your explanation is more understandable and possibly true. Can't wait to play the full release of the game, and your full lore review
To be fair, the story would basically just be Ender Lilies with a new coat of paint if the Land of Fumes was already entirely destroyed like Lands End was.
Yea, I didn't have any desire to play this game as I didn't feel like Ender Lilies needed a sequel. I still don't quite understand when this is supposed to take place comparatively to Ender Lilies.
