Anet doing good this time public 50 man raid and normal 10 man raid + add as a part of main story, players will have more confidence to join raid because they can try easy version in public squad first with 50-60% mechanic. Hope it success and we get many more raid in the future 🎉🎉
I love that they are adding more group content. They just need to fix the LFG system because the current system with 95% of all group forming occurring in Discord really locks out a lot of the players, especially new players.
@@IRedpunk There is also the fact that LFG listing fills fast. I always create groups using the LFG, and I hardly wait more than 10 minutes, even in EU nighttime.
im not much of a raider gw2 raids kinda suck in my opinion.... id actually prefer them doing new dungeons with a story mode and explorable modes and armor sets.... for each expansion.... in the end I think ill stick with convergences...they feel far more rewarding without waisting hours of time and getting nothing
Have you try raiding? it's not hard at all to get into them if you join ANY of the many communities. Then you won't waste hours and hours. With just a very little mentoring you can easily clear a lot of the encounters easily. Raids are especially great if you are into story telling. Everything is super immersive, voice acted and flows wonderful. Similar to dungeons, but was bigger. If you didnt engage in raids yet, I highly recommend it. :)
People basically saying convergenrces Are better cause LOOT.. im done lol, no wonder gw2 isnt that popular And has low ammount of raids cause of this peoples mindset
we can expect the xpack after Janthir is already being worked on, and its a safe bet they wont do another raid, simply because they dont know how well this one will be recieved. BUT by the time it launches, and we make our way half way through the year. theyll have an idea of whether theyll undertake such a task. if receved well, theyll probably shoot to have a Convergence/Raid frequently. probably a 2:1 per-release. if it fails then their ideas will be the raid bosses cut up into strikes and convergences as the norm. Tbh I have faith in them delivering.
I am very interested in another raid, we have a group that's been going strong for a bit now, doing 1-2 days per week and it's been so nice to get back into them after some time away from it. We even still have a few bosses we need to iron out (or even attempt, looking at you Quadim 2 XD ) but that just makes me even more excited for another wing to dive into. Can't say I'm all that optimistic for convergences, buuuut maybe they will actually take feedback from the SOTO ones into account, make them more engaging, fun, VARIED.
Never been a raid person so I look forward to the new way to approach that content. I honestly came to GW2 years ago to get away from the old way WoW and other games did end game raids, and for them to put raids into GW2 just never appealed to me so I've been skipping them here anyhow.
The rift essence change keeps rifts in the rest of the game relevant and provides a main game way to make legendaries in open world. I also look forward to seeing how Convergences are designed in the future. Perhaps they will be mini metas that force the groups to fulfill different tasks separate from each other.
not sure if skipping Strikes completely is a good idea. I'll be missing them. I'll try raiding again but it wasn't a nice experience the last time i did (toxic people), soooooooooo not sure how i feel
They need to just stick to open world meta bosses and strikes because the original spirit of gw2 was the massive world bosses. Those were the raids and they are in my opinion more epic that other raid implimentations in other mmos
We need more end game content and 1 raid a year is very little. Vonsidering story assrts are going to be in the raid, its also going to be low quality. Raids were loved because they hadntheir own story. Furthermore, raids are very accessable now more than ever with powercreep in mind. Also, raids are not as profitable anymore unfortunately
I agree that raids have been way more accessible than in the past. Hopefully this is just another way for players to realize this, and even gain confidence in PvE boss fights. I too would love more PvE content. Dream world: Dungeon on launch -- Raid for 1st update -- Fractal for final update.
Still feel they missed the mark with the essences from rifts. It already feels for SOTO players that the essences arent worth anything if youre not making the armor. Does this mean JW players without SOTO will be getting rewards they cant use? EOD seemed a lot more approachable with the content and having a reason to do the content even if youre not making the weapons. Or you could make the weapons to sell. Inless ofcourse they take part of the Legendary Armor collection and make a JW version each time? Obviously people wont be able to get soto map comp? When they mentioned the wizards vault and obsidian armor. I was hoping some of the collections would be quite generic for everyone to do, then one gift related to the expansion (collection + pre + map comp).
I wonder if they could remedy this by making the legendaries/precursors tradeable for the pack and the spear, might create a similar grind to how you could “convert” imperial favor to gen 3 precursors in EOD and sell them for gold.
I actually never thought about that -- yeah it would be nice if there were a couple more cosmetic rewards for essences. There actually is now a vendor in Wizard's Tower where you can exchange them for materials and boxes.
I do have a minor concern. The content appears to be the same thing in multiple formats. Same boss? Same map? etc. Despite the gameplay being different between convergences, raids etc.... everything might feel a bit "samey". I fear that if ive done the convergence, i may not want to do the raid today etc and that there isnt much variety to engage with. That said, the houses, the other open wrold stuff might tie you over, and ofcourse youvve got the rest of the game
I have hopes that they will feel different enough to encourage players to step into both. 50 players vs 10 players offers a very different design approach for boss mechanics. Additionally when you get into the Challenge and Legendary modes, that even further mixes it up.
Well, I'm glad that they are attempting to tackle the raid fiasco, and not just letting them sit with nothing for 5 years. So... despite them not being a guarantee, I'm happy with Anet keeping them in their back pocket if they ever want to do them again.
Idk... the soto issue was the just 2 strikes as a tiny number, not the quality itself. Make a raid a convergence and the story re use again and again the same story step in different ways seems not a good idea imo. Call the strikes bridge is a bit old style, when they are from ibs. Harvest temple or all the cm from eod are raid level not easyer. I dont like the idea to rush content like that for not use reasources. If you try to make everyone happy probably you will fail. As old raid player tbh is better for me the strikes idea, sacrifice the unique story is also bad point.
it sounds like the wow style raid where the story leads into the raid, and it has difficulty tiers so people can get the story with the convergeance difficulty
the devs prefer to create content for more than 1-2% of the player base? well, why not pick up well-loved ideas/concepts from the past and introduce them to the game like *Polymock arenas* ? there is an Asura gate in the Statics Union at Rata Sum since release in 2012. _End of Dragons_ could have given us some form of the *Faction* wars and a new version of PvP to make it more appealing for casual players. but none of this. instead we get spears on land - exciting.
there are a lot of mini games that never made it into the game that should have been a part of the core game. Faction wars wouldn't make any sense with the lore. Kurzicks might make a return, but the Luxons.
it is the spears on land that has me returning. That is content that I as a mostly solo player can engage with. Raids in GW2 aren't as appealing as raids in say FFXIV because you can't just enter as a dedicated role. I learned raids in XIV by waiting as a DPS and watching guides.
@@Argol228 There is now dedicated role in Guild wars 2 idk when you left but now there is basically : Tanks / DPS / Support Dps / Healers. When looking for raids or End game content you often see people asking for x, y, z because not having it make the content impossible or much harder atleast, you can also try to learn raids or strikes through youtube or by joining a guild that welcome beginners (not optimal for "solo" players tho)
