2:35 PM 2/2/2024 at 2:33 you need a horse in this scenario. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Pf_ZYZZr4yg.html#t=2m33s Endgame practice, white to get a draw it's not necessarily solved yet but you can work with this one at least. instead of picking a queen you can pick a knight, the piece moves in an L shape which will help you block the queen in this ONE scenario only, in most scenario's you have the luxury of not being placed under check constantly by an enemy queen. but there are many moves to factor now since you're a free man for the time being if the knight blocks your queen's check mate due to the L shaped distance. if the knight blocks the queen you have a chance to keep the game going but you have to always be able to maneuver such that the horse will block the queen at all times. until a stalemate is offered. or all pieces have moved the same move 2 or 3 times. and it is considered a draw according to an online video game.

(Your ideas are LOSING) actually @HydraulicsMe has a point, your king is under check so you cant move your black pawn to get queen yet, meaning your king has to retreat because the knight is attacking you. meanwhile @HydraulicsMe's king can nove move into closer proximity of the knight. so even if you queen now, you still did not place @HydraulicsMe's king under check yet and that still leaves at least a good 3-4 more moves before you threaten the knight, the possibility for a stalemate is still there.

Yes, maybe promoting to a knight is the best move in this position, because then black can not win it immediately, as if it was promoted to a queen, but then the queen wins against the knight very easily. Yes, black has to be careful some forks, but even in a relatively low level it is an easy win.
