this was SO FUNNY. all those references i DIED laughing. and when she pours her wine, and then took her iPhone of top of the glass, so it wouldn't spill when she walked :D oh gosh.... it was all very subtle comedy and i really liked it a lot. Kristen is so funny. Her passing out because she is scared of RAIN :D This show, as a spoof was so well made. i honestly loved it. Made me laugh and cringe so much i watched all in one go.
These comments are giving me everything I was screaming and laughing at while watching this. I took this show as a serious murder mystery until episode 2.. Like Kristen you CAN'T be for real🤣😂... " Oh I don't drink wine anymore. I'll have a vodka😉" **downs pills with vodka. Cause nothing bad ever happened to her from mixin a lil alcohol and prescription pills LOL
I definitely took this serious, but I knew something was up when Buell the handyman was fixing the mailbox everyday 😂 and then finding out he had actually been fixing it for 3 years 😭
I only knew it was supposed to be a comedy after finishing the entire show, ngl watching it by myself late at night was kinda creepy and I thought it was a decent thriller 😂 some strange moments but I still thought it was supposed to be scary lmaoo
The whole notion that he broke into her house and the next day they're practically soulmates is too funny. And him getting arrested naked in an apron. Endless brilliance.
I took this show WAYYYYYYYYYY to serious I had NO idea this was supposed to be a parody. All the laughs I should’ve had while watching are now just me laughing at myself lol I thought the end of the series would have some big twist but the plot twist is I got played lol Usually I would be mad and feel like it was a waste of time but it was a good watch 😂💯
I thought the whole show was serious...I hated the ending and thought the writers completely failed...until I looked up RU-vid and realized, via comments, that this whole show was a parody...I feel hella dumb...😂🤣😆😁😄
@@sheriece05ify maybe to make it realistic because people repeat jokes and don't come up with things on the spot? or since she had a bandage on her head is could be a result of her injury? idk
I figured few minutes into the series that it was a parody but that scene of her ex husband nonchalantly telling her buell was criminally insane and killed his family had me FINISHED 💀💀😭🤣🤣
I thought the title sounded like a parody but the trailer made it look serious and witty, kind of like a dead to me vibe. But shit I'll have to admit I did not guess this was a spoof during my entire 3 &1/2 hour binge of it. Damn. I think I like it more now
How about when the detective casually said something along the lines of "yeah, it was really tragic when the serial murderer killed and ate your daughter, I should have finished him off right there." Jeeeezzzz
D: “He was found criminally insane. He killed his entire family with a saw hammer” A: “Why did you not tell me about this before?!” D: “Well I didn’t think you’d want him to work for us” A: “I WOULDN’T HAVE” D: “But we needed someone to fix the mailbox” A: “IT STILL ISN’T FIXED” 💀💀💀
I didnt realise it was a parody at first lol. There were a lot of scenes I thought were weird such as how the daughter died, I noticed the gravestone changing and the mailbox continusoly being fixed. If it didnt have all these weird things It could have passed as a real thriller lol, I was hooked even though it was a parody.
I didn't think it was a parody because I thought the whole thing was because of her grief/the meds and the whole thing was in her head or something. I still enjoyed the heck out of it though!
@@deadinsidebutstillhorny1340 nah whats crazy is. I thought it was serious yet I was dying of laughter the whole time. I kept wondering why it was so funny but now it makes sense 😭😭😭😭
What got me was the casserole! she dropped that in the middle of the street and I Was Like is anybody going to pick that up! Then made another one the next day and walked right past the old one still in the middle of the street Lmaoo Also she was gonna leave a casserole at her daughter‘s grave And let it rot and spoil their Lmaoo
I can't believe how many people missed the fact that this was supposed to be straight up parody/satire... Of course it was ridiculous, it was meant to be! And if you needed any clues this was a spoof, they were literally there from the beginning: 1. Buel fixing the same mailbox for literally three years 2. Filling wine to the top of the glass every time 3. The ridiculous rainphobia scenes, crawling in the street 4. The ridiculous, over the top way the daughter died 5. The ventriloquist dummy scene 6. The ridiculous killer reveal and subsequent fight 7. All the nonsensical, rambling voiceovers that went on and on 8. THE TITLE I mean, it was pretty ridiculous throughout but that was the whole point, to spoof the genre. I thought it was fun and enjoyed the ride 🤷🏻♀️
I feel so embarrassed, I had no clue it was a parody. I thought it was just a thriller with a few jokes and funny details in there. Now it makes more sense 😅 the ending is still so confusing tbh
The problem is that the tone for the most part is very similar to a normal thriller, meaning that you feel tense up until a completely ridiculous reveal.
The ratio though: 1 bottle equals 1 wine glass had me rolling...also take your daughter to work day...in prison!! Nooo come on! And Chuck-she at the end killing folks cus she feel like it...Scary Movie 2022 style I guess!
At this point, I just think this whole season was all a fantasy in her mind. She was just reading some murder mystery novel and fell asleep on wine and some drugs.
i think she’s just a xanax and wine/vodka abuser and she imagined it all and at the end she was just on a trip. I don’t know i’m confused lmao but the show had me laughing a lot. Like that 9 year old has to be the strongest 9 year old killer ever she was whooping her ass. 😂😂
Something similar happened to me when I was watching the comedy film Better Watch Out. I didn't know it was a comedy, and thought it was a really weird af movie that seemed "off" to me. When I found out it was a comedy while I was still watching it, I enjoyed it a lot more haha.
My humor must be terrible really, because I only see people talking how funny it was and I didn't think it was funny at all, I mean, no one told me it was a comedy and I couldn't tell, cause everytime someone screamed I'd just jump scared. Lol. It gave me a nightmare the night after I watched hahahaha.
who else is team "I went into this full-well knowing it was a parody, yet have never watched any of the movies this show is parodying, thus completely missing a lot of the jokes and references and taking it more seriously than I should have been, yet I still had a good time watching it"? oh, just me?
I noticed that to this show is a world wind of crazy I kept laughing my ass off especially when that 9 year old child beat her ass I’m screaming at my tv like drop kick that bitch 😆😆😆
The gravestone said "there's no 'I' in heaven" after it previsouly said "if love could keep you alive, you'll live forever"🤣😁😂 Then she told Emma, "life is for the living and so is casserole"...then she walked away without laying out the flowers... Then Niel asked Ann if she wanted to come over for dinner again after he apolgized for the restraining order and previously threatened her with a gun...🤣😆😂 Bring your daughter to work day, proceed to bring daughter to interview a cereal killer... I was dying...
I'm really disappointed to find out now that this was apparently a parody. It was going really good until that last episode where it just suddenly seemed so stupid. Now I know why :(
Yea I was talking about this just with the Mrs. How often do you see a horror film make a great start then go off the rails and the fuck up at the end? Most of them Is the answer
What allowed this show to work were all the flashbacks that never happened. We kept watching and waited for things to add up until the most obvious slip up of them all...Not once was this little girl shown or said to be affected by "supposedly" watching her dad kill her mom. That was enough for me to establish the series has been blatantly liying since ep1. Good watch though. No need for a season 2. I should add I took this way too seriously. If the final few seconds of this show don't say laugh out loud, I don't know what does.
I was watching this with my sister because we like razzing random shows. The show's satire was so invisible we took it as genuine and treated it as such. I was legitimately pissed off with how Anne's daughter died it soured the whole thing. Maybe I'm a dumbass but the suble "comedy" was really lame to me when a grew a brain cell big enough to recognize it.
The final fight scene reminded me sooo much of a scene in Child's Play where Chucky clung onto the woman's back and she couldn't get him off and fight back lol
I didn't realize what was happening until the quote on Anna's daughter's tombstone changed the second time she visited her grave. It changes again during Anna's third visit to the absurd "There is no 'I' in Heaven." Clearly, this is all Anna's drug and alcohol induced hallucination, to which she alludes when she wakes after her sexual romp with the mysterious stranger and asks herself if she "hallucinates everything". Based on comments I've seen elsewhere, it doesn't seem like viewers understand that this is a comedic parody of The Woman in the Window and contains pretty much every trope from Hallmark mystery series. I laughed throughout the sex scene montage which included all the required film basics of sex in the shower, on the staircase (ouch), on top of the kitchen island after it is swept free of its cork collection, etc. So fun.
I have so many questions: -How did the little girl hide his dads girlfriend’s body? -Why did the dad never call Chastity again and how come everyone including the police believed she was still alive with only text exchanges without calling her and confirming? -How did she unlock Chastitys phone to text her dad back? -How did Kristen never realize that mailman was living in her home? How did he keep getting up there without her realizing it? -How could the little girl kill Lisa, chop the body of a full grown woman, Then move it into the woods? -Why was Buell going to Niels House with a hammer? - How did lil girl know where Anna kept her painting stuff when she went to get her check book? She never invited her to her house or at least never told her where she keeps her painting equipment. -If Kristen’s husband’s name was saved as Therapist, how did his real name appear when that guy who broke into her apartment and made her text him? Why didn’t he notice that there was no previous texts despite the fact that he was supposed to be her husband? -how on earth did an 8 year old clean up blood and move her body within minutes of the cops showing up??? And her dad? -I don't understand the ending … Why is she still mixing her pills with alcohol (Vodka this time) ? Has Anna been just hallucinating? Why did she say Bingo? Had she just realized that the lady was in fact real? If yes, what happened to the lady then? And why is it that the flight attendant lied about no one occupying that seat? - What are we supposed to make of the engraved messages on Elizabeth's headstone that kept changing every time Anna went to visit her grave? - What happened to Sexy Rex after they found out he had an alibi? He literally just disappeared… I need answers!!🥺
Why did that guy mess with the mailbox EVERY FUCKING DAY??? Who the fuck hires a serial murderer to work at their house? How could a FBI agent leave his daughter alone in a room with a serial killer? That fight between Anna and the little girl was so ridiculous by the end of it I was really hoping Anna was imagining it all.
@@blancaries6452 That's one reason I actually dislike it. Bell's performance is way to sincere and serious to contribute to any of that comedic satire. Making the ridiculous plot feel lazy and contrived in a way that disappoints me then makes me laugh. It being a spoof doesn't help and just makes me think the show would be 100% better if they just made it a standard thriller.
It was lighthearted fun. I thought it was hilarious and a great stress reliever. I enjoyed all the hidden jokes. I'm sure if I watch it again I'll catch something I missed the first time. I loved it!
Only just realised this series was a parody 😂. I only really got confused when the neighbour was struggling to lift the bag but all that was inside was his dummy which he could carry easily. Like what I was so confused but now I realise it was all a joke 🤦🏻♂️😂
Movie was good until the ending the little girl being the Murderer sounds cool but it’s just plain stupid, you are telling me that the little girl had enough time to drag the body clean all the blood and wtffff you telling me the fbi could track lisa and her other guys convos but they couldn’t tell where the newest message was sent from sure again the show isn’t bad it’s just okay
Out of the entire series, the one thing that stuck with me… was that wine bottle opener!!!! When I first saw her open a bottle of wine with it I was like what the hell is this sorcery!?!?! It’s now in my Amazon shopping cart 😎🍷
I just finished watching the last episode. I enjoyed the series. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 @ "There's a surprising amount of upper body strength in that tiny kid". Thanks to this series, I will never underestimate another child.
@@katyklein8649 I think people are looking too much into it. For example they think its supposed to be funny that she faints when it rains. Im like mf thats a real life phobia that people have. They didnt made it up for the show. And how is that funny anyways? The only "comical" part is that the show turns into Chucky in the last episode, but other than that everything is 100% serious.
@@mmm6325 clearly you missed the changing tombstone, dramatic run on sentences, the fact that the daughter was killed by a face eating man, mailbox gag etc. Some things really fly over peoples heads
Why do I feel like Anna is a patient of Douglas and is being “handled” by him. So, I believe that Anna was never married to him and that she never had a daughter. All of Anna’s thoughts and memories are signs and symptoms of her diagnosis and her being on prescribed pills. We will have to wait and see what happens.
I laughed at every moment intended and questioned everything as intended and still took it seriously Up until episode 8 where I was like "what the hell is happening" and Googled the show only to find out it's satire 😭 10/10 would recommend
Can't believe I never caught up with it being a parody, the only times I was like: WTF?? Was in the over the top sex scenes and when I realized the handyman was at the mailbox IN EVERY SCENE I thought it was a pretty good show up until the end when she discovered Emma was the killer and then they have an absurd fight scene and I was like: They ruined a good show with this twist!!! LOL
Even I too don't hurt 9 yrs girl even though I'm man so it makes sense + what absurd is how come no one noticed Emma had physcopathic traits I'll say dad is dumb idiot with his conversation over Anna + Emma don't look like problematic kid at all she look like sweet n good kid lovable to every one
I just wanna clarify, around 50 seconds in you mention she was drinking a pint of wine. A pint is 16oz. I saw her pouring the whole bottle into that giant glass. I’m not sure about Europe, but in North America wine bottles come standard at around 26oz. In Canada we call this a two six. Homegirl was polishing off a two six of wine and mixing it with pills everyday 😂 I had my doubts that she saw what she saw ngl
Am I the only one who got the impression she hallucinated everything? I'm surprised everyone thinks the kid killed everyone. Or maybe I'm just missing something.
Well I’m an idiot I guess. I thought all the parody bits were just really bad writing. The mailbox, every scene with her husband, the casserole After casserole after casserole, the headstone quotes always changing and being ridiculous. The end fight tho… just so dumb and stupid
I doubt the ending is for a sequel. A murder on a commericial plane is literally impossible to hide unless the entire crew are in on it. If it's the sequel it would have to be one hell of a a conspiracy.
ok i feel dumb, i took this waaaay too seriously not realizing it was a parody but....i still dont get the end....she sees the container and "bingo"......i dont get it lol
*I was upset to find out that this was a spoof. I went into it thinking okay this is a comedy based on the title. But then as I started watching it didn't feel like your average spoof. So then I chalked all the craziness up to "oh, maybe this isn't a comedy and we're seeing crazy stuff because maybe Ana is a schizophrenic or suffered from psychosis after possibly kiling her daughter hence why she's making scenes up in her head and we'll see the real stuff by the end". But no, sadly it all was a spoof. This could've actually been a good psychological thriller, if they weren't going with satire! When I started to doubt that this was a spoof, I truly believed that Ana possibly feared rain because she was driving her daughter one day in the rain and because she was drinking she had lost control of the car and skid in the rain causing the car to flip, her daughter to pass and causing Ana a traumatic brain injury. I thought the brain injury gave Ana the hallucinations and memory loss of that day and that her mind made up the whole crazy 'massacre Mike' story because she couldn't handle the truth or guilt of being responsible for her daughters death. And as for the neighbor part, I thought halfway through the show that maybe Neil did actually do Lisa in after he found out that she was cheating on him. That Neil planned on murdering Lisa ever since he found out about Rex but he needed to pin his plans on someone else. And after Neil got to know the neighbors he knew that he could easily blame it on the one neighbor that no one liked, that everyone thought was crazy, whom all knew about her drinking and mental health problems etc. so they'd never believe her anyway and Lisa's murder could easily be pinned on he...Ana. That would've made for a really good psychological thriller and is the direction I truly believed that the show was going in when I still couldn't tell if I was actually watching a spoof or not. I liked the old spoofs like 'Scary Movie' because they were funny and you knew what you were getting, but here I feel as though a lot of the jokes didn't land well as it took itself too seriously for a spoof.*

My first investment with Mr Lawrence Tom gave me $24,300 and that has made me invest without the fear of losing, I got four of my friends that I referred to him and they are making profit just like me. May God bless Mr Lawrence Tom
I was really into the show until the idiotic revelation of how her daughter died. I thought it was gonna be an admittedly basic car crash on rainy day death but her being killed by a serial killer on Take Your Daughter To Work day was just plain fucking dumb. I almost quit when the dad FUCKING KNOWINGLY LEFT HER WITH A CANNIBAL WITH A 30+ KILL STREAK!!!
Honestly I just didn't like the show, the satire was too suble for me. Loved Kristen Bell's performance but that's about the only thing of value I see in it personally.
@James Iron yeah the way that it ended with repeated scenarios of the cop, then her ex husband, then her neighbor, apologizing to her, made it seem cliche like the movies/shows, + where she kept repeating that phrase to each person, made it seem like if it's actually all in her head still since there was some beautifully perfect ending where even her gossipy neighbor apologized to her and even her friend got the job and Buell moved in to watch over her etc etc
So wow I had no idea it was a parody but it all makes sense now!! 😂 I took this so seriously & although there was humor & I laughed, I mostly was like that would never happen lol I have been convinced this whole time this was really all in her mind & she is actually in a psychiatric ward this whole time reading a book & thinking she is in it.
Bruh my mom and I watched this show, thinking it was a serious show all the way, until we watched the ending and we laughed out loud. We've been watching too many B movies to believe this was a series that took itself too seriously
This was actually really intriguing and even funny. Some of the deadpan jokes such as the casserole quip, autoerotic, and others were funny. All of the jokes landed with precision especially Kristen Bell, she’s funny. Some of the plot holes were weird, though. These detectives were absolutely worthless and should have be fired. Also, the painting in the attic... this lady was just arrested for murder (with no actual evidence, mind you) and they didn’t even search the entire house for possible evidence? Also, the husband is a complete moron. He hired the mailbox guy Buell even though he literally wiped out an entire family. WTF. Worst husband ever LOL.
I already watched the original The Woman in the Window before, and the murderer was the innocent-looking son. But for this one, I thought this time it's impossible because here the daughter is a little girl 😂
The woman in the house across the street from the girl in the window just saw what the girl in the window just did to the woman in the house across from the girl in the window.
