I always loved the Umbral Choir. The concept of a 'lovecraftian looking space-consciousness' that heard and felt the deathscream of the Endless civilization as it broke down and annihilated itself, caused the Umbral Choir to travel to the Endless Galaxy in order to try and save it... arriving far too late of course to save the endless, but the young races that came after might just be saved instead. It's kinda sweet... it a spooky machine-virus type way.
@@SomeKrieger That depends on Perspective and how they perceived time, space and such. Cuz Spooky Machine-tech-ghosts might not really understand the concept of life, death, a finite lifespan, etc.
35:00 "I did like civ until I realized I hate it because diplomacy is mind numbing, you can't get anything done." Name me a 4X game with AI diplomacy where that isn't the case.
Alpha Centauri. All four victory types (diplomatic, economic, military and Transcendence) are absolutely viable if you know what you're doing and planning your goals accordingly. What a game. One of a kind.
25:05 the plus side is after you do it you can colonize every planet in the system you have technology for INSTANTLY. And by the way Isyander situation is better now. He is not that much of a dick anymore.
I admit I wasn't a fan of this type of game until after I played Stellaris. then I ended up playing it with mods. sometimes I'd get my arse kicked, sometimes I'd have a golden run. I remember this one run with the gigastructures mod. I was so close to winning the game via conquest.... then I built the quasi-stellar obliterator without knowing how the entire galaxy would react. I might give this game a try soon
@@OldManReacts When I tried picking up W40k, I bought a few T'au models because I thought they looked nicer compared to the other factions. More than half the store groaned or made disgusted faces when they saw my purchase. I never went back.
Here's what I don't understand: If the space is endless, then how can there be a second one? There can't be an Endless Space 2, because the first Space was already Endless.
