OKAY! Let's chat all things urinary tract endometriosis! This is a broad overview of how endometriosis lesions, adhesions, and stroma have been found on organs and tissues within the urinary tract system (including the bladder, urethra, ureters, and kidneys). Up to 1% of those with pelvic endometriosis have endometriosis involving the urinary tract. In cases of deep endometriosis (DE), the prevalence is even higher - up to 50%. Yet even in the latter cases when symptoms are obvious, urinary tract endometriosis (UTE) remains underdiagnosed!
In this video I chat about the symptoms associated with urinary tract endometriosis (even though urinary tract endometriosis often doesn't present symptoms!). I also go into depth around imaging techniques that are used to isolate, locate, and address endometriosis in the urinary tract (MRI's, ultrasounds, and more!).
Let's keep raising awareness around endometriosis so that those suffering with the disease receive the proper care and support that they deserve - especially with presentations of endometriosis in areas that are often underdiagnosed (like the urinary tract!).
I'd be curious to know if you have suffered with urinary tract endometriosis and how you found care and support in your region! I'd be happy to do a deeper dive into bladder and kidney endometriosis if you'd like! Just comment down below which video you'd like to see first!

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I am an RN and I have worked all my life. I’ve have one Endo Excision surgery in October of 2020 and was on short term disability for two and a half months. I ve worked in the operating room since and I a continuously monitoring my symptoms and reading new peer review journals to better understand my ailments. I have just started experiencing dull low back pain and have reached out to my PCP and requested an MRI. I was able to get a pelvic and abdominal MRI last week. I have contacted a specialist and will hopefully meet with her next week for surgery #2. This time a hysterectomy with endo excision and exploration of the ureters and kidneys. My husband asked me to quit my job so that I can prioritize my health and we with hopes that I have sought care in time to save my kidneys. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge so that we can better advocate for our health. Best, Brandi Bettle

When I was 18 I could NOT urinate. Omg it was awful and so embarrassing. I finally had to go to the ER and when they drained my bladder the doc said I had 3x the normal limit of urine in my bladder. A few months later I had my first lap & found out I had endo yay. Lol. I also had adeno but didn’t find that one out until I was 33 & it was after my total hysterectomy. I’ve had all the symptoms you listed. It is also on my bowels & once my bowels become inflamed, it leads to my bladder becoming inflamed, and by that point it is game over for me. It is exhausting trying to live a full life with this disease! But I’m still hanging in there & I hope you all are as well! Stay strong! 💛

Great channel - just found you whilst deciding whether or not to have surgery for endo. I can’t conceive for 2 years now and have trouble emptying my bladder completely. I just am so afraid of the surgery. Glad I found your channel. ❤

I had endo surgery 5 years ago and was not aware being on birth control would have helped, regardless I had just been in a serious relationship with my now husband. I am scheduled for surgery again with ny previous surgeon who is almost 3 hours away and I do fear its affecting my bladder. I had no idea she only deals with the girly parts and said she will have to call the other specialists you mentioned to hop in on my surgery. Thank you for sharing your information

This was so helpful, thank you! I had surgery for advanced deep endo on my ovaries with a popped chocolate cyst 2 years ago and my pain seemed to go away for a year but then out of the blue I had chronic bowel and bladder pain. Deep stabbing pain at the hint of a full bladder and it was very very frequent. I was diagnosed with IC( painful bladder syndrome) but my dr now suspects the real cause of the pain is endo on the bladder. All the symptoms you named are spot on (aside from the blood in urine). I am meeting with the specialist who did my surgery next week and am holding for answers and relief. Thanks again for the video, you laid is all out in a clear and concise way. Blessings!

For a long time I was passing decent sized kidney stones and I kept drinking water and I was getting 3 stones almost every time I went to bathroom the more I drank. The burning didn’t go away I recently got a kidney bladder ultrasound done and they found nothing wrong. My doctor was concerned and kind enough to put a request in for me to see a urologist though. Hopefully I can get some real answers.

I have this constant burning sensation whenever I go to the bathroom I wonder if endo causes burning when peeing. I’ve had this burning issue for quite to long already and I’ve been tested for uti and it’s not that doctor gave me pills for it did nothing. Then horrible pain when I would pee on period I thought it was normal but it’s not I had this exact problem in my teens as well I was a late bloomer age 15 I would only get 5 or 6 periods in a year though . I recently got diagnosed with Pcos but I know it’s possible to have both Endo and Pcos and the pain I always get before or on my period when it happens which it’s rare for me but I hurts extremely bad at 9 or 10 on pain scale. Pcos doesn’t cause period pain like this and my back pains gotten 10 times worse I used to get decent cramps in tummy but now the back pains are more worse then the stomach cramps since I don’t really get them anymore. The pelvis pain is extremely painful though it feels like a persons stabbing repeatedly in my uterus that’s how painful it is and it’s a constant pain. Nope midol and or Advil don’t help I’ve tried everything nothing was to work.

Hi! Help is coming your way. Don't beat yourself up. It's not your fault you're passing through all of these. Just focus on things you can control and hand over the rest to God. I wish you the best!❤
