You will see them talk about 5G, conspiracy theories about Covid 19 and Cama Bill. Asides from the pastors, I know many people will disagree with this, but we need to realize that our parents generation failed us. Now let’s talk about senators earning more than the president of the United States of America. Nigeria is the poverty capital of the world and also the highest payed senators. It’s a shame. Everyone is entitled to his or her freedom but not on the expense of another mans freedom... black lives matter was a movement that portrayed freedom from police brutality but it became a freedom that allowed pace for looting, destruction of properties and many obvious selfish reasons e.g right for abortion, lgbt rights, defunding a sector that needs funds to function well, the narrative was ok, but the approach and the intents were massively unfair and bad. That is why the approach of Nigerians towards the protest 🪧 is massively transparent and well addressed. I would never support Black Lives Matter of the United States, no not after all the horrible destruction of peoples property and livelihood, not to mention the politics. It breaks my heart how the true blacks that needed that narrative never got to see what it truly should had been.

I was ready to give up on this country cos the corruption has eaten too deep. I wanted to move to Canada after college but see me fighting for the same country cos this is the only home I've got, why can't we make our home better instead of running away to other countries. We've been scared for too long, we've been oppressed, brutalised, extorted both by the Europeans and our own leaders for too long, how long are we going to keep quiet, fold our arms and just watch. It is your right as a citizen to carry out a peaceful protest. Y'all need to get up and fight for your rights. Africa needs to get better, only a revolution can bring the positive changes we need, the youths most especially should champion this. Many will die but will be remembered as heroes, it is either we win or we win, we've suffered for too long. Get up from your comfort zones and do something, Africa arise and fight!!

Adeola, I think that you skipped or overlooked that fact that some religious leaders spoke in support of the protesters. People like Pastor Adeboye, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, Apostle Johnson Suleman, Pastor Sam Adeyemi and Reno Omokri have on videos or by tweets voiced their support to this protest. Now, on the other hand, having them to join the protest is another thing. I think just like the celebrities who join the movement, the religious leaders also have the choice to join the protest or still support by encouraging them by their messages. My view though. This is my advice to all young people around the world, especially Africa, it’s time to stop giving power to old people, no disrespect to any old folks, but do you know why they have retirement age? You cannot have a Nation who’s population is more of young people with 67- 79 years old in leadership. Then we wonder why most of their decisions don’t positively affect the youthful generations! Young people are the ones who put these age old politicians in power, most of them only come to the young people when they need their votes, when they are elected, they care nothing about the young people; and this is why: they see the young people as threat to them. It’s time for well educated and wisdom driven young people get into major decision making positions so as to drive their own destiny instead of leaving it in the hands of people who are thinking in 1920s. If all the young people can direct their energy behind one of their own, who can relate to them, champion their costs, because he/she sees himself/herself in them, these ill treatments of young people won’t be happening in this our world. I could just say, politicians reaching 65 years should be retired, especially people who serve in positions of decisions making that affect the general public. They should retire and run their own business or company. Or better still, if their wisdom is needed, they will be consulted. You can have universities putting out bright minds every year and you have one group of people re-circling themselves. Don’t you see that they are protecting they and their family, friends, wealths and power of dominant?
