Since you are doing a review, it makes sense you don't repair it until you are done judging the product, but isn't it cheaper to repair it ? It seems to be nothing more than an easy fix. You can get your own durable line, and see if it lasts longer.

Yeah maybe, I'm not sure it would have lasted but you're right I could have tried sewing it. I did try using some tent repair material (tenacious tape) which looked good but didn't last.

@@spinningtrue Once I tried tape on an old torn jacket, which didn't last either. For your trousers I would be using nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/IJzergaren Couldn't find a translation which seems to work, sorry. There is also this stuff called “serving” in English, which has a wax like feel to it (used in archery). Perhaps it has a high tolerance for wear and tear. I haven't tried it in clothing, but it seems to be quite strong. It could be worth a try for areas in contact with the saddle. I tear stuff constantly, but if I had to buy new every time I would have to find a new hobby. If I try to estimate my savings over the last year by sowing, it is somewhere between 200-250,- Euro, perhaps more if I bought new inner gloves every time those tear open. Cheers.

@@josboersema1352 Hey Jos dank je wel! I had a look at that stuff and I've never heard of either product but you're right about saving money... I am usually very into reusing and fixing things and now I feel inspired to learn to sew too. I think with those trousers I was just so annoyed at first, and I was able to return most of what I had under warranty... also being able to write it off as a business expense when I was doing Deliveroo made me less inclined to fix it but that's not really a good excuse either.

@@spinningtrue Great to hear ! Sewing isn't that hard. We had it in school. You don't have to go fancy, or at least I usually don't. Just put a knot on the end of the thread, stick the needle in and go in and out maybe 3-5 times like 1 mm apart all in the same spot. This fixates the start. Then you just stick it in where you need to go, through both fabrics. Maybe 2-4 millimeter apart, depending on your patience. In out, in out until you are there, and at the end you just do the same as the beginning and that's it. You can always double or triple it, if you want additional strength. It is that basic, a child can do it. Best of luck ! Some stitches here & there adds character ;-).
