Thank you for your feedback. Our time to complete it was limited, so it became a challenge to see if we could get it done in 3 days. I throughly enjoyed it.
Wow….what a great trip. You two are studs! That looks so amazing and challenging. Good job! Would love to be able to do a ride like that. Can’t believe how little gear you needed!
It was a blast. The scenery that we saw from our bikes was great, but we were on the bikes for 7 to 8 hours each day. When were were not riding we were eating or sleeping. Not much time for anything else. We ran into several cyclists who were doing similar routes, but they were camping. They carried at least double the gear that we had on our bikes. I was really glad that at the end of each day that I had a bed, shower and a nice room to crash in for the night and a lot less weight to carry than a full camping outfit.
@joyceford1455 - It's a good one for the Spring or Fall. Next time I think I'll try it in the Fall. Well groomed Gravel for most of the gravel section with a bit of single track. You should definitely give it a try!
Thank you for your feedback. It was definitely a challenging ride on a great trail. We did it a bit quicker than most due to our time constraints, but it was still quite rewarding. Thanks for posting.
@Castleknight Many thanks. I was discussing it with Rob on a ride this morning and he's already planning incredibly evil ideas for the next one. thanks for posting...
Given your efficient EDC, I am surprised you carried butyl tubes on the ride. I recommend TPU tubes as much smaller and lighter. Thank you for all your suggestions! My 711L ratchet and Steinwhale bits should arrive tomorrow, and will stay on my bike.
I agree but they are also quite expensive . I’ve also had no experience with patching them since the TPU tubes are quite different and a patch may not adhere. I have friends that use them and like them a great deal. Thanks for posting.
@Castleknight Yes I had a flat on the first day. I just swapped out the tube and replaced it with a new one. The bicycle shop stop was more of a convenience for me. My front wheel was clicking and driving me crazy. The front hub needed to be adjusted and just at that moment we passed a bike shop, so I asked them to take a look. Problem solved. Thanks for asking
