The EU is targeting to reduce final energy consumption by 11.7% by 2030. Additionally, the new EPBD aims to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption in EU buildings by 2030, with the goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. It also focuses on increasing the rate of renovation of energy-inefficient buildings and improving information on their energy performance.
Sotogrande, which has some 60 year olde residential properties, faces therefore a great challenge, to refurbish outdated, energy-inefficient housing to meet the new market demands and EU targets.
