Theory 1: What if tochi kobara ( kaito kid's father) watched these five in the police academy and loved their spirt and decided to let them help him find the pandora jewl so he kept following them and when hagiwara was about to die tochi disgused as one of the police and recue hagi by taking him and jumping out side the building he did the same for matsada, and in hiro and date's case he gave them a drug (created by Haibara's parents in secret) that let the heart beat faster so they lived for few more hours and then they all helped him, they let it secret because tochi ordered them for his own reasons because he too faked his death even for his son ans wife he must have a good reason to do so, Theory 2: he rescued them to infltrate the black organization hagi and matsada asked him to prodect hiromitso, zero and date when hiro shoot himself to protect his family and friends he was recued but didn't infeltate the BO again because they know him as for date he was recued and join the others to infeltrate the BO.
