Xu Kaicheng is really suited for his role with a good physique and tall height with handsome face. While Zhao lusi compliment her role as a very playfull young energetic girl, she's pretty too. Good storyline and good casting also. The cooking scene was very funny hahahaha whooo! lol
Well said. Xu Kai Chang is perfect for his role. This is my second Chinese series. I never get tired looking at him. He is handsome. Love Sang Qi too. I'm following her. They both are perfect match.
This is a really cute series. Lots of attractive male characters and laughs. Really enjoying it. Sad people on Douban always have to criticize many series. Nothing wrong with this or the lead actor. I get irritated with their constant nasty remarks.

I love the male lead. What a hunk and a good kisser. Yes, he's older and some people object saying he could be her uncle. After all he was her older brother's classmate so it makes sense that he's older. The young guys are foolish, flighty, cruel and even evil so she's lucky to attract his attention.
@@moodygirl609 Xu Kaicheng is 9 years older than Zhao Lusi. That's not so much. In the drama "Love in the Kitchen", ML was 18 years older than her. But some people always complain and write badly. I like the two of them as a couple. After all, he plays a teacher, not her schoolmate, and he should look serious.
@@DeeDee72 While I like a many, many of these historical Cdramas, I really appreciate when one like 'The Sword and Brocade' comes along where the ML acts knowledgeable, mature, kind, understanding as the relationship with a challenging young FL grows. None of that takes away from the romance that sets the heart aflutter.
I think so too! I think she loves characters that are funny, cute, and mischievous. Either she loves the roles, or people love her acting as such so she gets typecasted. Regardless, if this is the role she loves to play I support her wholeheartedly :)

Oh man.....the three main leads keeps on hitting another level every time I watch a new episode....Zhao Lusi is in another dimension of her acting.... it's so flawless and effortless...
I love it when there is immediate gratification when a plot becomes intriguing and there is a mystery and a conspiracy is revealed. This is going to be a great for drama with funny, romantic and exciting twists...and it is only the 3rd episode
Lusi has such a great chemistry with all of her lead man. This young lady is really very talented and an amazing actress and I just love all of her dramas and movies and I’ve seen them all and that’s how much I admire this young lady

Watching this after LLTG cause I can’t get over the period drama craze I got recently and been loving zhao lusi drama after drama, but I gotta admit, nothing and no one can compare to the love story of Ling Buyi and Shaoshang and the chemistry between Wu Lei and Lusi. The horse scene in the previous episode reminded me of the scene in LLTG and that scene was so perfect that these other scenes pale in comparison. I am enjoying this drama right now but I can’t help missing everything about LLTG.
Lol, that show messed with my head because they didn’t meet until episode 6 so it made me feel weird the leads in this drama were already having chemistry in episode 1. LLTG was overhyped personally, no hate.
As someone who plays the violin, I can attest to the fact that it actually does sound about that bad the first time you pull the bow across the strings.
When I was at high school, my father refused to let me learn the violin. He regretted that decision the day I came home with a tuba 🤣 The school paid for the instrument, and I paid for the lessons, so there was nothing he could do about it. I was not very good 🤣🤣🤣

I played the flute then and was sat not only in front of the trombones and tubas, but two guys who were cousins with no impulse control played the trombone. I think my parents should be glad I chose the flute. It's really hard to get loud enough on it to be annoying:) now there are 2 of us who play the violin, one singer and aspiring guitarist, and an aspiring pianist. Our house gets loud.

Edit: Really funny that Yan’s dream turned into a nightmare where Sang Qi’s concerned. Thinking that his old friend’s playing the song instead of the appearance of the younger sister. Hahahahaha!!!
