【Synopsis】The only daughter of Minister Sang, Sang Qi was trapped into a bet where she had to make the First Master Yan Yun in Yan receive her pouch and the invitation to enjoy lanterns on the Lantern Festival, otherwise she would be singing on the lantern show instead of an opera lady. Sang Qi thought it is not a big deal, however she got rejected for many times. Knowing Yan Yun was teaching in the Imperial College, she decided to go in and finally got enrolled after her dad begged the emperor hard. I feel like a lot of newer dramas are like this one now in that regard! I’ve definitely seen a couple dramas where the male and female lead understand each other and worked together to solve any problems they come across!

I have to admit I had tears in my eyes when Zhou Wen Yuan took his life. He and Sang Qi were childhood friends and shared many good memories together. But everything got ruined because he was selfish and couldn't let her go. But I was happy that we got a happy ending. The only thing missing was Yan Yan Ling Pian's wedding!

The costumes in this series were soooo beautiful! I enjoyed the tastefully loving and playful interactions between the Deputy Chief and Sang Qi. (Zhao Lusi & Xu Kaicheng had wonderful chemistry in this; which made their love story believable). Their genuine smiles were so captivating and the cast was gorgeous and beautiful as well. Although some of the scenes were drawn out and well... the overall storyline was very enjoyable! I'm definitely a fan of both leads and have viewed numerous plays with them each. Keep up the good work! The supporting cast was adorable as well. Thanks for the good time....

I loved how she gave him her pouch as a wedding present, it reminded me of her earlier relentless, futile but creative efforts to get him to accept her pouch for the bet. I was glad to see the 2nd uncle again in the ending!

OMG the wedding scene is so amazing. Love the costume and her riding the horse to go to the wedding ceremony is so awesome! The drama ends very well, both of them on the roof top. So romantic and funny. ML and FL have a strong chemistry also both are handsome and beautiful. Love this drama!

I cried seeing Song Jia Yin holding her husband Zhou Wen Yuan's ashes. She wasn't very nice to Sang Qi, but my heart breaks for her. She just wanted to get married and continue her life but ended up a widow due to her husband's high treason and obsessive stupidity. She didn't deserve any of this

He wasn't stupid, that's kind of the point. He was the smartest guy in the school competing against the best of the previous class and Sang Qi. She fell for both of them and turned out to be a pretty decent character. Not sure I would say she's a widow either since they never consummated their marriage. She could have just left and actually got married, but the soul mate paradigm rules Asian romantic dramas. Not sure how I feel about that.

What a well written script, beautifully done. Great actors and actresses. All played their roles well, Zhao lusi, Xu Cheng, Rao and all cast. Excellent, beautiful costumes. I felt I was in that ers while watching it. Wonderful drama indeed. Thoroughly enjoyed it with it comedy romance, twists and turns, who done it mystery murder and very good plot. Luv Zhao. She's a natural actress. Should win an award. She's talented, witty, pretty, sweet face and smile. Fantastic job. Commendable. Next one please

This and the Imperial Coroner are my top happy endings so far. My top heart string tugging dramas ( so far) are the Legend of Hoalan and the rise of Pheonixes. I couldn't even watch the last episode for each of the latter 2 I mentioned. Whew!

There is always a joyful feeling when it comes to watching dramas with Xu Kai Cheng. He is good looking, beautiful white teeth and a charming smile. Saw him in drama Broker with Luo Yun Xi. Zhao Lu Si's acting with him has chemistry too. I saw her with Li Hong Yi, Leo Wu Lei, Jason Gu in other dramas. Pretty, sweet actress and I like her acting. Adorable face expression in this drama when she mimicked an old professor.

I am going to miss this drama so much. I know people feel for Zhou Wen but I think although he is pitiful, he deserved this kind of ending. How could he poison the person he claims to love and also burn her coffin after her death, that's just inexcusable. I am so happy for the main couple.... Its a happy ending everyone.

I don't feel sorry for Zhou Wen at all -- he's a psychopath willing to kill anyone who gets in his way. As Sang Qi said, he blames others for his own mistakes, and that's what he did till the very end -- blaming others for forcing him to kill or hurt them. Sicko.

Loved how well the ending was done with Qi and Yan finally getting married and achieving their goals to get a female into the imperial college and becoming the first female scholar , solving both the salt trade issue and finding out how Yu died.Felt a little sorry for Zhou Wen when he took his own life. Bittersweet ending. Sorry to see this drama end!

Excellent video film ! Gifted actors, great story and talented directors/producers! Xu Kai Cheng (Yan Yun Zhi character) and Zhao Lu Si (Sang Qi character) are the top two actors in any field; Ren Hao (Zhuo Wen Yuan character) was excellent in this role; Ao Rui Peng (Yan Yan character) and Meng En (Jing Mu character) were awesome and deserve to be lead actors in many fields. Que Bai Hao (Yan San Lang character), Chen Sang (Bai Shi character) and Zhang Yue (Song Jia Yin character) were so good as support actors, they deserve bigger and better roles. I give this video film a 10!

The super drama drew me in so much that I watched it until later in the night because I couldn't tear myself away. Zhao Lu Si playing the main character was fantastic. And Xu Kai Cheng playing the main character was also fantastic. There was a so-called chemistry between them. They matched each other in the drama. Zhao Lu Si in every drama plays great whether it is a contemporary drama or a historical drama super. Xu Kai Cheng for me is more suited to histotic dramas and contemporary dramas are also cool. In one word, drama is fantastic, it's worth watching. I give a rating of 10/10 with an asterisk. I rarely give such an assessment to dramas. Enjoy watching.

@gosiak676 I could not stop watching this drama late in the night I went all the way to passed 1:30 am Today I saw the ending and was so pleased with it so beautiful the wedding scenes so perfect The song when ZWY died was so beautiful I also give it 10/10 And will watch it again soon

Great drama! The leads had such good chemistry. Their smiles are lovely. Zhao Lu Si looked so much better with the side parted bangs at the end. Which is amazing, because she looked great thru the whole drama. Great pairing. Loved all the actors! Especially the one who played Commandant Sang. Thank you for the fun drama with full subs.

Maybe her hairstyle is different at the end because she is already married? Just a guess. You know how in ancient times (or even now in more conservative communities) that the hairstyle would show a person's marital status.

Yaya ! Perfect couple with the chemistry that goes with them . They both have such a beautiful smile 😁 that says it all . It's a pity the second ml went the way he did , he was so in love with Sang qi that he had lost his way in the end but he gave his life back to Sang qi in which he owed her . So ! Touching in away . Sang qi is happy now to have her love at her side forever .

But in a way she will always think of Wenyuan. He died at the end of her sword so perhaps he got what he wanted in the end as well which was to be in her heart and memories forever.

Not sure 2nd lead gave his life back to Sang Qi. He was doing a lot of corrupted business for his Aunt before his college and during his college. He had killed military during fighting. He had taken a lot of lives. At the end I think it was a no way out for him. He will be capture. Sad for his life. He is a smart young man.

That was most definitely NOT love that he had for her. He might’ve at the beginning, but true love does not lead to all the horrible actions he took against her and her family. What he had was ego, control, obsession, and narcissism.

Look at Bai Shi officiating the wedding. I'm glad no good officially or subordinate had to die in this drama unlike others where most good people, family and friends of the leads have to die. This is a plus. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 And oohh one of the most emotional historical drama wedding I've seen.

Love this drama and my favorite actress in the world Zhao Lusi, no one is in your class girl, your the best. Great acting guys, the lead guy played the part perfectly. He was awesome in Pearl Eclipse too.

Minor spoiler: I'm a bit annoyed that Zhou Wen Yuan got to go the coward's way out but I'm glad they got over that quick because I was so tired of him. I do feel bad for the Song siblings because they didn't know about the evil things their parents are doing and their main sin was really just being spoiled and ignorant. I'm glad we got a wedding scene of Sang Qi and Yan Yun Zhi and achieving their dreams of improving Imperial College. It makes up for the pain. They're such a cute couple and I will miss them💖💖💖 this show was awesome#

Mrs. Yan Yun Zhi(Sang Qi) looking so beautiful. She automatically becomes more mature after marriage. Look at her new hair style, she is extremely happy. And oh my! that theme song during their wedding. This is just so perfect. The best ending to this sweet drama. It was so worth it

What a beautiful drama... I enjoyed watching every episode of it ! I love the main couple because their relationship is based on 100% trust and no misunderstandings, they are perfect 👌 The second couple is adorable. I also like the other characters of the story and also feel kinda sorry for Zhuo bc even if he made the wrong choices, his feelings were sincere and the Song’s child, they are attaching.

A very good one and I had a lot of fun watching it. Very rare Chinese drama and I have watched it multiple times. Luci is very cute and Kaicheng is so attractive. He is very charming in this role. Hope they don't jeopardize his career because the love affairs. He deserves a decent woman in his life.

Zhuo Wen loved at first but then became obsessed and lost his way. Love would never drive a person to fight to kill or harm the person you claim to love. It would be best to give up the person and walk away and try to get over them one day.
