Just finished the entire drama. As a newcomer to the Chinese Custome drama, this is my favorite female character so far. Hua-hua is not trying to "play cute" like other female lead characters in Custome romantic comedies. Although she doesn't necessarily know exactly what happened, she can always tell it is part of the male lead's plan. She is smart in her own way. The male lead character is also very different from the other dramas. He is a scholar who didn't even know archery until taught by the female lead. He saves the female lead and her family with his wisdom instead of his kung-fu.

“Girl Like Me” it’s a story about a female lead who has a very strong personality, who doesn’t take any BS from anybody. Who has dreams and can foresee what the future is. She who speak her mind, but love with all her heart. And the leading male is so smart and has a great heart for the one he love and loyal to his country. This drama talks about love unconditional love, one-sided love, sacrifice love, entitlement greed and family. There were a lot of cute, funny laughing moments and there were a few teary eyes moments too. Chemistry between the leading actor and actress in my opinion was just OK. Overall I love the ending for everyone, everyone deserves their ending. It’s an 8/10 for me.

我第一次看侯明昊的演出是 " 人不瘋狂枉少年 " ，我不認識他但演得不錯！如今是第二次看他的劇集，他除了演繹得非常之好外，我更敬佩他能朗朗上口背文言文！我就不能了，況且我生活在英國四十幾年，丈夫又是純種英國人，出外所見的仍是英國人，機乎忘記中文的書寫，甚至不大曉説廣東話！幸好回港定居後多看國內劇集(説真的，如果沒有中文字幕，我就看不懂了，因為我全聽不懂普通話)，為了improve my Chinese therefore I sing Cantonese Opera . The male protagonist can spoke Classical Chinese , he is marvellous !

Just finished this drama series! Came back to let new viewers know it’s definitely worth watching! Both the Female Lead and the Male Lead have good chemistry! Supporting cast perform their parts well! There’s lots of Humor 😝😂😆🙄😬and the “bad guys” are greedy, power~hungry, jealous, etc enough to get you riled up! The FL’s home/ family is AWESOME! Mom & Dad loving and understanding~ lil brother who is adorably tolerant, klutzy, clever and loving, 2 servants who are like besties to FL Other Palace and people related to~ are a melange of intrigue, botched plans... however the expressive performances & actions draw you to main villains; even as the storyline isn’t super intense! No serious, long drawn out arguments or draggy scenes! YAY! Caveats: 1) some translations are incorrect! ie: “I want to be on top!” Also~ often, when you see the character’s name being called, they’re Really being called “elder brother”, “younger sister”, “Miss”, “Uncle”, “Dad”, etc 2) some of the actors are relatively new actors... This delightful drama series is Not super intense and flows well 95% of the time! 3) Although the ending is satisfying (unlike PrincessAgents😍 or Joy Of Life with Zhang Ruoyun ~Season2 of Both of them Anybody?!) A Season 2 would definitely be worth looking forward to! NOTE: slow translations and slow drops of episodes reduced viewership of this rewatch able drama series! Please recommend! SHOUTOUT TO ALL THE ACTORS AND CREWS!😎👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤩☺️

这部剧是挺好看的，今天看到12集了，剧情搞笑新颖。男女主很般配吸睛养眼。关晓彤演这部剧演技见长了许多，有待提高空间。这个角色太适合关晓彤啦！侯明昊演得也不错，待加磨练会更好。两人都演得不错的，就是吻戏太过僵硬无感。特别大赞的是服装设计超级高贵精致特别，造型美，场景等...太棒👍🏻了，观众大饱眼福啦！如今的电视剧，戏服道具等...都是样样精致到位呀。印象中戏服精致造型最棒最美的有此剧之外，(三生三世十里桃花🌸，花千骨，琉璃，梦醒长安，明月照我心❤️，双世宠妃，恋恋江湖)超级棒棒👍🏻哒！这几部古装剧不仅剧好，演员帅爆美丽又绝配，演技更是极佳呀！个人看法没有针对性哟！大赞👍🏻中国🇨🇳剧啦！😍😍😍🥳🥳🥳

Done watching all the episodes. Will be in my best cdrama list. Thank God this drama did not give me heartaches. Nice story and i had fun watching. Kisses and hugs are just simple and reserved but made me giggle. The male lead is super handsome. My first time to see him in a drama. The Female, i already saw her in Untouchable lovers. This is worth watching❤

Finally, a historical drama I can watch again! My first introduction to Chinese dramas was The Story of Yanxi Palace during lockdown and I was hooked! Five or so series later, they were too toxic for my liking and started to watch modern dramas instead. Sadly I found them to be too cringey, juvenile and cliche so I stopped watching them too. This series hits the perfect spot for me: the lovely costumes, the historical/cultural references, the art & music I love in historical dramas. The tricks are still there but not as vicious (or they met their karma fast enough) compared to the evil deeds which went on like forever in the most dramas I had seen. The female lead is unorthodox and her pairing with this erudite gentleman make them a power couple! The power and family dynamic is refreshing and way ahead of their time. No wonder why Ban hua is such a pioneer because she was raised in such an environment. Xie xie to all the people behind this production.
