I cried during their chat and I loved it when he used to just show up at their house even if Xiayou wasn't there. Her Dad I know wasn't supportive of her design but normal parents to want a stable life for their child-not to struggle. LuRen though could take lessons from him, how to be a good father!

I feel sorry for LY because of LuRen! LY may as well have been abandoned like LXC. LuRen may care more about LXC in some ways, but LXC still grew up without a father. LXC & LY both relied on their mother only.

He failed big time! It's sad! LuRen's parents didn't want him with LXC's Mom (probably not from rich family) & LuRen didn't love Cheng as much, but that is NO reason to take it out on your child-he's your blood & an innocent child.

Honestly, if he had just abandoned them & NEVER come back, both boys would be better off. Yanzhe had to grow up living with an iceberg of a Dad, no love, no affection, no acknowledgement of all his accomplishments. Xingcheng as a child as he said he was pure, that was before he knew the father who abandoned him was nearby & a teacher at his school. Actually i think LXC is not the artistic dreamy soul. Its TXY. LXC is the scientific realist guy. For me, Jerry speaking slowly reflects LXC’s controlled calculating personality.

He's been in his life and thanks to the mother he doesn't know how to speak because someone is always speaking and deciding for him. It could be her constant nagging, pushing and making him keep his other son out of his life that made him silent with the one he lived with. He speaks to Xingcheng because it's him who he's been distant from and owes the most apologies. Please remember he was forced by his parents to give up his child and love. He might not have felt worthy to even approach him after all that time. Everyone is forgetting how much his wife was destroying his son. He could have also been trying to avoid further backlash being done to his child.

Aside from the parents forcing him to marry someone else. His wife's controlling ways and trying to push this man to want only one son is what pushed him to close off to the son he had. He never pushed him to want to be a designer because he knew it's not what he wanted. All the things the mom filled his head up with pretending to be a victim is what added to it. Other then dad ignoring him his mom further ruined his life with her lies. In both of his son's situations he too is a victim to his families control and like his eldest son needs someone to soften his heart. A witch of a wife only made him harden his heart more. This process will come in time.
