初めまして😄 趣味で水彩画を描いている60代です。 柴崎先生の動画を見るたびにやる気が起こります❗️今回の動画をみて、Ｆ２からＦ４にし、20号筆も購入しました。今まで１０号を使っていましたが、筆をかえて先生に教えていただいたテクニックを使うことで、空を描くときムラがなくなり絵を描く時間が早くなりました🤗 先生の動画&絵に出会えて良かったです🥰

Shibasaki san I thought all the time that small brush is used for small paintings and big brush for. If ones. Yes you’re right I have a wrong concept and am afraid of big brush because it maybe easy to make a mistake. Now you are moving my fears in just letting the paint flow freely. 小さい筆を使う原因は自信不足です。先生の一喝「大は小を兼ねる！」で目覚めました。先生の言葉を心に銘記します。これからもできる限り大きい筆を挑戦します。ありがとうございます。近頃日本へ遊びに行く予定がありますので、その時先生と同じ画材を爆買いするつもりです😆。ちなみに先生最近個展を開催していますか？もしあれば、ぜひ伺いたいと思います。

こんにちは山田良一です、20号の筆に挑戦してみましたが、うまく描けなくて挫折してしまいました、8号までのセーブル等日本画筆等羽菅筆等20本位の細筆を保有していますが、20号筆に再挑戦してみます、細い線をうまく描く事が出来なくて挫折しましたが、出来なくても描き続けてみる事にします。写真みたいに描かなくていいという言葉に励まされて、描いてみます。大は小を兼ねるですね。

This is very very good, I know I would have bought a smaller brush thinking that it would allow for more precise work, but you explained well that this is not the initial goal. I'd be painting with the goal to relax, and a smaller brush looks a lot more stressful that the larger brush. With more experience using the larger brush it can be used for finer detail too. Thanks, I enjoyed this and learned the things only experience usually gives. Thank you.

This was super helpful! I've been watercoloring for a long time but I have always used pretty small brushes because I like to do a lot of really small paintings and detail work, but my color filling was always a hassle and I never was able to mix enough paint. I will be switching to a big brush as soon as I can get my hands on one!

I'm using the small brush because it was less expensive and I did not know this difference. Now I'm saving money for a bug brush ❤️

I discovered this on my own almost immediately. I got a Winsor & Newton Series 7 in size 2, which is supposed to be the best brush made. But I can paint finer lines with a synthetic size 12. "The big one can play the role of the small one."

私はアクリル絵の具なので、ある日怖さを脱したとき、豚毛の20号と18号を購入しました。メインは、ホルベイン油彩用NEW RESEABLEを多用していますが、水彩用のその筆も興味深々です! 最近水彩画風に描く試みをしたら、やはり水彩用の筆と紙が良いですね。(笑)いま師匠から独立して楽しいです🥰 いろいろ試してみます😄

現代絵画と古典絵画は違う、ということでハッとした。（でも古典絵画にあこがれているが、そこまで上手くできない。）

I saw another Japanese artist use this type of big brush and she was able to make very fine size zero brush strokes with the tip. I was thinking "oh, wow, that brush is all in one!". Makes me wonder why those other brushes became the normal go to brush in Western countries.

すごく身に覚えがあります。 どうして細い筆を使ってしまうのか、多分怖いからだなぁと思ったところで先生もそのように仰いました。先生は描けない人の気持ちまでお分かりになるのですね。教えがすっと入ってきます。

これまで色んな先生の授業を聞きましたが、芝崎先生の授業が一番好きです。絵を描く才能がないと思われる私にも先生の話を聞いて、やってみようかなって思いました。水彩の基礎をしっかり勉強して、挑戦してみたいと思います。ありがとうございました。

Mr. Shibashaki looks like an watercolorist asian grand father form of Bob Ross.

In Russia, there are many variations of such a proverb but my favourite is "Велик сапог - на ноге живет; мал сапог - под лавкой лежит." This can be roughly translated as "A big (oversized) shoe is on a foot (=the one you can wear); the one which is too small is under the bench (=is not used)"

I was using that small brush when i first use it for ink wash technique (not watercolor, but mixing ink with water instead) and it is exactly like what Shibasaki Sensei said, it's is very slow and not dynamic, i bought that small brush because i thought i need to do a lot of detail, but detail is something you wouldn't need to worry that much, Be Brave and go for them Big Brush!
