💬Plot summary:
Fan Xian grew up in a small town by the sea with his grandmother, following a sudden visit of a poison master, his peaceful life quickly morph into one filled with danger and hardship. 36:12 - 39:18 my fave here is the fishing scene. Aside from I find it humorous, I think some details represent something. Catching a fish can represent the rise of FX as an official (the pond has no fish in the first place lol so this can mean FX isn't ready yet). The emperor mentioned that Fan Jian's heart isn't at ease that's why the fish won't bite. But actually the 3 of them are all worried about FX. In the end, the emperor caught a fish unexpectedly which could mean his heart is at ease (confident with FX) and that FX is actually ready. These are just my thoughts cos I really admire the characters of the drama and their actors portrayed them exceptionally. 🤗🥰

The female Emporer character is really a female portraying a male Emporer in the novel. I think giving birth to a daughter would put that to rest.

This tag team of fathers is really wacky but remarkable. We have Daddy Fan, who is the "mama bear" type. Fully protective over Fan Xian's safety and well-being. If it is within his power, he will never put Fan Xian's in any harm situations. And we have Daddy Emperor, who is the "eagle parent" type. Just like eagles who are pushing their eaglets out of their nest so they can learn to fly. Daddy Emperor keeps pushing and giving tests to let Fan Xian grow his potential. Last but not least, we have Daddy Chen who is the "dolphin mama" type. He is firm but flexible at the same time. He ensures that Fan Xian is still acting within the rules and he has some expectations, but he's also allowing Fan Xian to do whatever he wanted. I remember his message even before they met, where he basically said Fan Xian can do anything, he will help Fan Xian cover anything that needs to be covered up. Daddy Chen also gave Fan Xian the judge token even before Fan Xian knew how powerful the token is. And he never questioned Fan Xian on how he utilized the token.

One thing a lot of historical tv shows trick me is the wall. Most shows use real location, and these ancient structure won down with ages. Like the pyramid for example. But during its height day, they look new and has a lot of color. But I am so use to their portrayal on screen that I often forget about this.

One of the rare mistep on the show, the first guy who try to challenge Fan Xian puff his chest out and act like Fan Xian's attack connected way way way way way ahead of Fan Xian even trying to hit him. This happen very commonly in chinese tv show when the protagonist trying to hit fodder, people just either falling/jumping backward before the hit connected and or puff the body forward so the hit connected instead of trying to block or dodge.

I swear this whole drama i done watch up to this point Fanxian is always stuck b/t two people. Fighting to take him or fighting to kill him. Inside he’s probably like…. Wow I am so popular hahaha. The look on his face says it all.

I knew she was a girl right away. I have seen her or another female in a drama that played a male but I always knew it was a female, lol. I looked up the cast to verify and sure enough.
