I really enjoyed this cute couple. Like any good drama it had happy and sad moments, but mostly good and comedic scenes. It’s not heavy into politics and palace intrigue so that makes the show more “light” and easy to watch. It has a good ending. I’d rate this a 8/10.

Synopsis: 34 Episodes: > Duration: 35 min. A sweet love story between the brave and kind daughter of a general and the young king who is surrounded by enemies. ok so, here are my opinions on this drama (don’t worry no spoilers) this drama isn’t as outstanding or out of the ordinary and uncommon like the other special dramas, but it’s honestly not as bad as all the other reviews say! The storyline is ok, music is amazing, extraordinary and brilliantly used,. Romance is very unique as well but if you came here for fighting.. uhh in my opinion it’s only historical and romance. The romance is extremely unique compared to all the others, but it doesn’t mean it’s always better lol. Either way, it’s a short 34 episode drama with not a bad story, it will definitely be worth your time if you haven’t watched some extremely high classed drama. I finished this in literally 4 days and I would rate it a honest 7.5/10 to 8.2/10.

Just finished this drama series! For new viewers: 1) good ending~ you’ll want a Season 2! 2) please note the ML is typical arrogant, short tempered, royalty in Chinese historic culture! This means he will act & do certain ways that the modern, or western mind may not understand! 3) The FL is a 16/17 year old spoiled teen, who gets embroiled in typical royal schemes/etc thinking she’s saving her stepsis ~and therefore is a bundle of nerves/confused/scared etc... thus she makes many mistakes. After she falls in love, it kinda gets worse cos her whole family could get slaughtered for deceiving members of the royal family.. the Dowager Princess / Prince ... so yah,.. she makes impulsive choices and other teenage angsty stuff... (Wrote all that to counter the many comments that say she’s immature... well DUH!) 😉

I don't think I'll get into this drama. I find myself rooting and empathizing with the eldest daughter Suyu more the the MC protagonist. Like, Suyu is flawed by being cowardly but friendly to her sister, but disliked by the mother who favours the protagonist. Why are we supposed to root for the protagonist when we have no way of relating or empathizing with her? If anything, she's boring, mean, doesn't think about anyone else and just uninteresting. Make this story about the sister, it would be SO much more interesting and original. Don't mean to put others off, do give the drama a try and see if you like. Just my opinion

I agree that they've done a poor job of making us feel any connection to the FL. But it's only the first episode.. I'll watch a few more and see if this improves and I start to feel like rooting for the FL.
