Translated video for an interview that happened after Yuzuru and Shoma got Gold and Silver respectively at the 2017 World Figure Skating Championships. Video produced by fujitv_official. Original Translation from shoma-uno from Tumblr.
NOTE: The video cuts off abruptly due to copyright kicking my butt in the last 5 minutes of the interview. I've tried to add a border, pitch the audio, but I still get copyrighted. I'm going to try to continue to edit it to bypass the copyright the best I can. Hopefully I can do it because while it is only 5 minutes, there are some cute moments. Thank you for your continued support!
Thanks for your translation! May I suggest that you mute the two minutes or so at the beginning (the part you didn't sub) to avoid getting flagged? I've seen that method working elsewhere!
@@RandomKurd no sometime he did interview with skincare brand like sekkisei but yuzu does not have social media so we see him less when it is not competition season.
Shouldn't the interviewers at least try to include Shoma? I know Yuzu is more popular and good for the ratings, but it's unprofessional. Plus Shoma's program was also very iconic, it showcases a stylistic choice that's very unique to him.
Yeah, totally agree. Although in the other part of the interview, they talked to Shoma a bit more. But thankfully Shoma doesn't mind too much since he's kinda more shy and reserved. I think every skater by now knows that Yuzu is going to get the most questions and at least they understand it's not his fault. I've seen yuzu trying to include other people in his answers at least. But the interviewers should've at least been more subtle 😅
I don't think so. If you watched the previous yuzu era interviews always they ask to the champion or the medal winner. When Yuzu begun he wasn't the main subject until he got the world title and the olympics. Isn't because he talks too much is because he got the higher position. First was Dai's speech who introduced Yuzu, and then he followed the tradition and introduced Shoma. Now, I don't know how Shoma would react now he is in charge. I hope he follow the tradition and introduce us Yuma. Now is the time he have to answer the most awkward questions and keep smiling. I wish the best to Shoma and Yuma
A tad awkward for Shona. Love Yuzuru but the Interviewers were totally ignoring Shona. Stop watching after 11 minutes when they did even acknowledge the other talent in the room...
Yes, i do have to agree on that. But thankfully, Shoma tends to prefer letting Yuzu take over and deal with it, so he's probably glad about it. I do see many interviewers ignoring other skaters (especially 3rd place) and its quite upsetting when the skaters do not get recognized! ( •́ ̯•̀ )
1:45 cant speak Japanese but I noticed something. Where Yuzu and Shoma asked to chose between skating and dance? I understand Shoma said "skating" and Yuzu "dance" :)
Ahh yes I'm sorry! I got the translation from a user on Tumblr and they had only translated when the actual interview began. I hope to learn Japanese soon to actually be able to translate it myself! :)
It keeps getting blocked due to copyright. I'm not sure if it'll ever get through. I'll try again soon! I'm sorry! If it never does work...then I might have to upload it somewhere else.
The first question the interview asked Shoma was about Yuzuru's performance and it's SO ANNOYING. I love Yuzuru and i love Shoma equally, feel heartbroken to see him being side character in almost all the interview with Yuzuru. But he always behave nicely and humble that even make me love him more. Please stop being unprofessional and taking care of all the guest if you want to interview them.
@@cielnguyen4278 Well, not about it's under who's era, they can still focus more to Yuzuru but the interview has 2 guests so they at least should have a right manner towards the other one though that person is less famous. To me, the first question is really impolite. And I dont care if there will be an era of Shoma or not, he's enjoying his work anyway and i believe he always will until his retirement.
