That’s a hard question, I guess slapping the strings was there a lot before, in the popular context, long before any classical composer used it. The earliest example I can remember now of specifically slapping the strings is Brouwer’s Elogio de la danza from 1964. Although in Danza Característica from 1957 uses the tambora (hitting the strings on the bridge, not slapping). And in the Prelude from 1956 includes a percussive effect at the end of the piece, but doesn’t mentions in what part of the guitar should be performed. Greetings Stefan!
