“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread" The Lord's prayer opens by helping us put our smallness in perspective & God's greatness made known. Praying for things to happen, healing, provisions, etc, is good .. but the opening should help us acknowledge that we want His will done first because He is holy & we are dependent on God for the smallest things, our daily bread. I've found this regular perspective shift to be quite helpful in my own life & I think it's one of the blessings of prayer.

We get so wrapped up in trying to save the world, especially in the evangelical world, that we forget that God is the one who saves, and we can take part in his work by resting
