Engaging the back hip during the load and stride. Pre setting the hands allows our body to load and engage the back hip during the backwards movements. We put emphasis on the lower half of the body by sinking or sitting in the back hip for the load.
Striding is all about the controlled forward movement. Our belt buckle and front leg are driving from the back hip, making sure our nose is not lunging forward over the front knee or getting stuck on the back foot. Our upper body should rid the back hip equally with the belt buckle until the front foot begins to land thus allowing us to turn the barrel with our forward movement gain. We put a lot of focus on "forward movement" when talking about stride.
