My indoor router that my ISP provided can reach 100ft, all the way to the top of my street, where I actually used to work so I could go on RU-vid/Netflix without my boss realising. Love my router!

EnGenius offers some great hardware. Then new ECW260 on the 802.11ax is amazing. Far superior to the 802.11n ECW160. Great video!

(not a techy). Perhaps you mentioned it in all your facts and data descriptions, but I didn't catch anything about security. Does this appliance keep one's usage and data secure? Is it meant to operate when travelling, or away from home, and again the security question while on the move. Thank you for your response. : )

If given the option I would go for the unifi (I'm nothing to do with ubiquiti, I just fit alot of it) ac mesh points as it offers the same speeds at only $99 usd/£99 gbp (can be found for less if shopped about) the unifi clams upto 600f range, where my understanding is 5000sqf if about 35f from the device in any direction so 50f test on the engenius was at the maximum specification. What do others think ?

There is no difference between gaming at 60mbps and 90mbps. Your gaming PC is hard wired right? What is your upload speed? What router? What switch? How many devices on the network? Anyone else doing crap like netflix or torrents while you're gaming?

That's really underwhelming... I get farther signal from my $20 router (inside my house, so it has to go through the wall, and 2.4 Ghz is awful at that). I know, because I sometimes need to Google stuff when I'm working in my shop. I don't know the speed, but its faster than my slow internet, and I have yet to drop a connection. I also probably couldn't run this since it might interfere with my 2.4 Ghz video signal (race quadcopter), and normally you don't have a huge signal outside.

2.4ghz is way better for going through walls then wireless ac (5ghz). You can turn off the 2.4ghz AP if you're worried about interference (and all your wifi devices support 5ghz of course).

Face palming myself... I got the frequencies backwards. I use 2.4 Ghz for the controller and 5.8 Ghz for the video signal (so its fine, the controller has a different protocol and binding ID) 5.8 Ghz is the one that gets blocked by water (in your head), walls, tree limbs, etc. That's still a useful feature (running 5 Ghz) in a similar case.

I'm not there right now, I'm at my dorm with Gigabit ethernet. My house was super slow, like 70ms ping, 1 up and down (on the best of days). At my dorm it was 1-3ms ping, 880 up and down last semester, now its 1-21ms ping, 340-382 down, 895-900 up (way slower, but still plenty fast to download a game in 5-10 minutes). May have changed when I move files across computers, but I didn't notice anything significant. I often just hook a regular CAT 6 cable straight from my laptop to my desktop (laptop has automatic crossover support) just because the router was only like a 100 Mbps max. It did work fine moving files around though through the wifi though.

Wireless AC doesn't penetrate walls well period, no matter what ap/router you use. I recommend installing a bunch of UAP-AC-LR throughout the house with no more than 2 walls between any device and the access point. Count the floor as two walls.

Is this a budget friendly solution for me to have WiFi 200 feet from my house? I have a beach house in Florida and I'm trying to find a good solution so that I can have WiFi down on the beach. Regrettably, I'm not very tech savvy. The objective is to have Wifi for my phone and tablet. I wouldn't take my laptop down to the beach.

It's outdoor wifi. You want faster wifi in your yard? Screw this to the wall, run a network cable to your router. Done. Nothing to learn.

5000sqft= πr^2 ~1591ft=r^2 √1591ft=r= roughly 40 feet or 12 meters range in all directions. A bit underwhelming and quite deceiving. stating 5000 square feet of range sounds like a lot but it isn't that much :/

a second thought - it sounds like shit. I have a 5y.o. RT-AC66U and it promises and underdelivers pretty much the same way, a bit over 80 mbps with 300 mbps on the box.

They were running a speedtest on their 100mbps internet connection LIKE COMPLETE RETARDS. I've complained about it in every single video they've posted about wifi speeds. They should be using iperf and testing it against a local device to show the true speed and performance.

If you need an internet connection when you're out in the middle of the woods or gone for a hike or something like that there's something wrong with you. You literally go for a walk in the woods are go hiking somewhere to get away from everything not bring it with you

Umm those were terrible results. Getting in to the range of -61dbm and below you won't be able to connect to the network on certain devices. At an advertised 5k ft you would expect a better result

They were measuring -61dbb on the connection to a cell phone, I don't think any other device (i.e. laptop) is going to receive a worse signal than that. Under -75dbm I'd start to worry but -61dbm on a phone is fine.

I literally stopped the video 13 seconds. "What happens if you need to venture outside?" Well I have an Archer C7 so I get reception half way down the block and it likely costs half as much of the item you're trying to pawn off to the masses. Do I really need my home wifi to be stronger then that? -Edit: okay just watched the rest, Didnt you guys already do a video on this, and don't you legally have to declare if a video is sponsored?

AC1750 user here, and it gives me about half signal all the way out to my car, which is about 60 feet away through several walls.

Why is it useless if your router is AC1900? That statement makes no sense. You won't get anywhere close to AC1900 outside your house so no harm in installing a 2x2 MU-MIMO wireless AC outdoor access point. If you had gigabit internet and you wanted better speeds outdoor then maybe you'd want something faster.
